It had been a little more then a week since he had begun traversing the Hi no Kuni, and aside from a rather…interesting encounter in one of the smaller towns, Kumataka had found the entire journey to be rather uneventful. It appeared that the ANBU of Kumogakure no Sato hadn’t managed to follow him past the borders of Raikou no Kuni, and he could only hope that his picture hadn’t circulated to the foreign bingo books quite yet. The missing-nin was rather tired of running away, and he had decided a while back that he would make his way to the capitol of the nation to try to ply his luck there. Just as long as he steered clear of the hospitals and medical association, he was rather sure that he would be able to blend in quite easily. After all, he wasn’t a shinobi, he was a doctor, and because of that suspicion was easy to shrug off.
Konohagakure no Sato was a rather busy city, that was the first thing that he had noticed when he had made his way into the village. Unlike the beautiful architecture and gardens of Kumo, the entire place seemed to be patched together haphazardly, wires running from building to building and siding carelessly tacked onto walls and fences. Eclectic, but a bit of an eyesore to someone so used to beauty and serene grace. However, the strange layout of the area, combined with the teeming masses of people, civilian and shinobi alike, had utterly confused the newcomer, and instead of making his way through the streets with a purpose, he had resorted to wandering around, too shy to ask directions. After all, the last time that he had interacted with one of the natives, the situation had turned…strange, to say the least.
The medic sighed in exasperation as he attempted once again to find something, anything that would tell him where exactly he was, but it seemed that it wasn’t to be. He quietly slipped his hitai-ate into his pocket again, then let his shoulders slump in defeat, “O-oh dear…”

I'm staring at a broken door There's nothing left here anymore My room is cold It's making me insane
I've been waiting here so long But now the moment seems to've come, I see the dark clouds coming up again.
Running through the monsoon Beyond the world, To the end of time, Where the rain won't hurt Fighting the storm, Into the blue, And when I lose myself I think of you, Together we'll be running somewhere new Through the monsoon. Just me and you
Rajani had her hair pulled back in its normal ponytail to keep it from her face. She walked through the streets of Konoha still trying to make sure she remembered her way around. It seemed that many things had moved around since she had been gone in her six years. She sighed she needed to get some shoping done or she would never hear the end of it from her companion Midnight. She had moved into her old home for the nights since the pack wanted to be close to her again and be sure of her safety though they did trust Sakura. A half moon's fading from my sight I see a vision in its light But now it's gone and left me so alone I know I have to find you now Can hear your name, I don't know how Why can't we make this darkness feel like home?
'n Halber mond versinkt vor mir War der eben noch bei dir Und hält er wirklich was er mir verspricht Ich weiss, dass ich dich finden kann Hör' deinen namen im orkan Ich glaub noch mehr dran glauben kann ich nicht
Running through the monsoon Beyond the world To the end of time Where the rain won't hurt Fighting the storm Into the blue And when I lose myself I think of you Together we'll be running somewhere new And nothing can hold me back from you Through the monsoon
Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey!
As she walked she tried to get her barings. She stretched her shoulders. She had to wear a backless shirt today for the pain in her back and shoulders could not take the presure of the shirt. She sighed and was passing where someone had sat down and sighed. She heard his words perfectly "O-oh dear..." She paused just past him long enough that if he paid attention he could see her scars. She turned and went to him and said "What happened to make you say oh dear?" she was curious to know. I'm fighting all this power Coming in my way Let it take me straight to you I'll be running night and day I'll be with you soon Just me and you We'll be there soon So soon
Running through the monsoon Beyond the world To the end of time Where the rain won't hurt Fighting the storm Into the blue And when I lose myself I think of you Together we'll be running somewhere new And nothing can hold me back from you Through the monsoon
Through the monsoon Just me and you Through the monsoon Just me and you

As he fruitlessly tried to make sense of the multitude of passways and streets, Kuma was filled with a profound sense of overwhelming confusion. Why, oh why, was this city built so strangely? It was almost as if the founders had conspired together to create the most poorly laid out, ragtag bunch of houses and stores that they possibly could, without any thought as to practicality or order. With a pang of memory he found himself longing for Kumogakure; even if the village had proven to be a harsh mistress, at least it was laid out in a fashion that was friendly to those who had never visited it. Konoha was…it was…well, it was nothing more then a mixture of chaos, bubbling over with people, animals, and so many different buildings. It was almost enough to make the poor medic’s head spin.
It seemed that his distress hadn’t gone unnoticed either, as a short woman suddenly decided to meander over towards him. A sense of embarrassment and awkwardness stilled his tongue as she drew close, and he could feel sweat began to bead upon his brow. It wasn’t exactly as if he disliked members of the opposite sex, but he often times found that many of them decided to make very unwanted advances, despite his usual subtle refusals. Of course, this was a complete stranger in a foreign village, so he didn’t have to worry about such things, but he was unnerved none the less. As she spoke to him, Kuma found his eyes scanning across her bared, skin, though with an entirely professional eye. Scarring was prominent across her flesh, but he couldn’t make any deductions about where it had come from. That was a shame, really, it seemed quite interesting, but he wasn’t as rude as to intrude on a stranger’s personal life.
“I uh, um,” his words caught in his throat, and he flushed a deep shade of rose. It was difficult to speak with people, never mind the fact that it was a women. That made the situation even worse then it could have been, and he stumbled over his sentences rather awkwardly. “Things are just, uh…rather overwhelming here?”

Rajani noticed that he seemed uncomfortable and actually decided sitting down was not such a bad idea. She didnt really ask but she sat there with enough space that it would not make them uncomfortable but close enough they could still keep their conversation private to prying ears that passed them. She heard him say “I uh, um,” then pause to gather his thoughts and finish saying “Things are just, uh…rather overwhelming here?” Rajani smirked then said softly "I know that in 6 years things have changed for me, Its hard to be sure of your barings but maybe everything will be alright if we just sit here a minute." She stretched but as she did so her scars gave a ping. She winced and leaned her head back. She hated the constant memory of her past. " Why did those bastards have to do this to me? she muttered as she tried to weather the wave of pain. It passed soon enough. She looked at Kumataka and asked "What brings you to this intresting village? she was curious to know more about him now that she had started to talk to him. She didn't want to talk to a complete stranger. She didn't know what he would want to share and what he wouldn't want to share but it never hurt to ask questions. Slowly but surely, the sick feeling in Kuma’s gut was dissipating, though he was still wary of the woman before him. She seemed friendly enough, that was for sure, but it was bizarre that someone would just stop to speak to a complete stranger at random, and that was enough to keep him on edge for the time being. Perhaps he was just so used to the cool, impersonal attitude of Kumogakure no Sato that being in a city that seemed to encourage comradery. He had always heard of Konoha’s legendary devotion to more “hero-like” ideals, but it wasn’t until he had made his way into Hi no Kuni that he had realized how true the stories had been. From the strange encounter in the smaller town to the general hospitality of Konohagakure, it seemed that the world wasn’t as cruel as he had originally thought it to be.
His thoughts were interrupted as she made to sit, presumably wanting him to do the same, but he couldn’t bring himself to move any closer. No, he was friendly, but there were limits. Her muttering surprised him, but at the distance away he was, he couldn’t make out the words. The movements were strange enough, and with his medical training he was relatively sure that it was linked with something on her back. The most logical assumption would be that something had healed wrong during the scarring process, and that the nerves were only half regenerated, but he could never be certain. Ah well, it wasn’t his place to inquire, and he tried to put it out of his mind for the time being.
Her next question caught him off guard though, and Kuma couldn’t help but flinch slightly. There wasn’t really an acceptable answer, and for a moment he looked away, trying to hide the confusion that he was sure was probably evident on his face. “Ahn…I’m just a traveling doctor, that’s all. I hate to say it, but I’m actually quite lost.”

Empty Streets I follow every breath Into the night The wind so cold The sun is frozen The world has lost its light
I carry your picture Deep in me Back to you Over 1000 seas
Dein Bild ist sicher Ich trag's in mir Über 1000 Meere Rajani thought about what to say next and said "Well want to walk around together maybe we can find our way to not being lost" She didn't want to move just yet and motioned for him to sit near her she even moved slightly over and grimiced as she felt the rocks of the building touch the tender exposed skin of her back. She knew it would possible be a cut on her back now but she would deal with it later. Back to us Don't you lose Your trust and your belief Just trust me
We have to go 1000 oceans wide 1000 dark years when time has died 1000 stars are passing by We have to go 1000 oceans wide 1000 times against an endless tide We’ll be free to live our life
It was nothing she had seen before and was interested in how he looked. She watched his movements and how he studied her own movements. So maybe he had a dificult past as well. Maybe he could look at my back and see if there is anything medical that can be done but i Cant just ask. She thought as her eyes started to watch his slight movements trying to get a feel for him and maybe make him feel better about staying around her. I know somewhere We’ll find a little place For you and me It all turned out A different way
Can’t feel the pulse In our veins So weak today We’ll let our heartbeat Guide us through the dark Just trust me
Der Puls in den Adern Ist viel zu schwach Doch irgendwie schlagen uns die Herzen durch die Nacht – Vertrau mir "so what is your name doctor?"[ She asked innocently she took a deep breath and shifted her position. she didn't know what to expect from him and without midnight to watch her back she didn't like leaving it exposed to the unknown. He wouldn't let me get hurt would he? I doubt itLyrics are Tokio Hotel’s 1000 Oceans/1000 Meere

Well now, that was certainly awkward.
As the woman motioned for him to come closer, Kuma felt a knot in his throat, and he coughed embarrassedly. That was getting a little to friendly for comfort, and he grinned sheepishly the best he could, though the action was half-assed at best. He moved a tiny bit closer, but declined to accept the offer with a polite wave of his hand; being in a foreign city without any contacts or friends was stressful enough, and he wasn’t about to let himself grow complacent quite yet.
She was staring now, and he felt his cheeks flush a bit; unable to make eye contact, he turned his gaze downward, feeling slightly better, even though he could still feel her critical stare. A shinobi maybe? Normal people didn’t tend to observe as much, but certainly she wasn’t being very subtle about things, so perhaps not. Either way, it was enough to put him off his edge, the air around them thick with questioning tension.
Her question startled him though, and for a moment he groped for an appropriate answer, open mouthed and floundering. It took a moment, but he managed to gather his thoughts, at least temporarily, enough to remember the false name that he had given before, back in the other town. After all, it wouldn’t do to have too many names floating around, that was just asking for suspicion. “Ah, Kuma.”
He was quiet again, and he fiddled with the edge of his glasses for a moment, a habit born of restless nerves. It was a subconscious thing, he knew that, but at least it helped to focus his brain a bit. Nervous tics were normal, but he severely hoped she couldn’t recognize the action for what it was, because he did not want to have to explain, not in the least bit. The best course of action would be to play everything off as if it hadn’t happened and things were totally fine, he decided. “Yourself?”

My name is Rajani, and if i make you uncomfortable im sorry," she said as she looked at Kuma. She didn't understand why he stood off so far. She was just curious because he seemed new in town and she didn't like being alone but didn't want to stay cooped up in Sakura's home. Sure she liked to have someone to talk to but she didn't like the constant watching over her like she was going to collapse or something. Rajani took a deep breath and looked up at Kuma. She wondered where he was trying to go maybe she could help. "Where were you trying to go? She asked the simple question and smiled at him. She knew that she would be safe and had little if anything to worry about at this moment. She shifted her position and looked at him and if he told her she might have to get up so she was getting ready. Lyrics are Tokio Hotel's Scream/Schrei

“Ahn, no, no, no, no apologies…” The man’s cheeks heated again, causing his completion to darken considerably. “It’s nothing with you…I’m…a bit skiddish by nature.”
There was a forced chuckle, and Kuma awkwardly scratched the back of his head, smiling with embarrassment. There really wasn’t too much to say beyond that, unless he decided to delve deeper into his past, and frankly, he wasn’t about to spill any important secrets to any Konoha civilians. No, that was something that wouldn’t ever come up, not to anyone in this village. All he needed to do was pick up supplies and…fingers strayed to his bare throat. A new cravat, yes, he had left his last one…the missing-nin’s face turned even darker red, if that was even possible, and he turned away for a bit, trying to regain his composure. Memories flooded to the top of he mind and he did his damn best suppress them, trying not to remembe-oh, distraction, good. The woman (Rajani, was it?) had started talking again, bringing him out of his hazy stupor. He sighed in welcome relief, and this time his grin was genuine.
“Ah, heh. As horrible as it sounds, I actually ran out of supplies on my way here and I need to find a store,” there was a pause, and Kuma swallowed thickly, “or a hospital to replenish my kit.”
There was a bit of a hitch on the last word, but it was so subtle that even the medic himself didn’t notice that he had done it. He didn’t want to go to the hospital, didn’t want to be anywhere near where any of his former brethren were. There was no way that he could handle the repressed memories, not without revealing something, and he had no idea if his bingo book entry had made its way over to this country yet, and he wasn’t willing to risk that. “Would you know of somewhere like that…?”

"I don't know how out of date the supplies at my home may be but we can look if you wish, My father was a Shinobi and my mother a medical nin before she had to go on leave to watch me." She said as she stood up. This gave her the excuse to go to her home now that she had been wanting to look at her home.
Rajani got up with little incident. She took a deep breath as she looked at Kuma. She tried to look as kind as she could and gave him a half hearted smile as she turned to lead him to her home. She knew where it was and would never forget the paths that led to home. She needed to see her home that she had been taken from 6 years ago.
She knew that her life had changed form that day and she would recieve no warm welcoming home until she could figure out what happened to her parents. She knew not the status of her mother or Father's lives. She didn't know if they were still alive. She looked back at Kuma and wondered if her parents were still alive did they give up on the fact that she might be alive or that she would make her way home? Did her parents leave Konoha to avoid being reminded of her? So many questions were arising in her mind now as she went to a home she should have never left.

“Ahn, that would be greatly appreciated,” relief was obviously evident in the man’s voice, and he smiled in earnest. Kuma was utterly relieved to know that he didn’t have to set foot anywhere near the medical area of the village; he wasn’t sure if he would have been able to handle being so close to his former brethren, but he knew for a fact that it wouldn’t have been a decent time. It was strange, almost funny in a horribly ironic way. How many times had he secretly taken care of missing-nin who had been traumatized by their experiences, by the village that had abandoned them? Too many to count, he knew that, and now Kumogakure no Sato had done the same thing to him, driving his mind to breakdown under undue stress.
A flicker of sadness passed through his eyes for a moment, but it was gone in a heartbeat. There were profound times when he regretted how things had turned out, but there was nothing he could do about the past. He was as good as dead to his village, and nothing that he could have done would make up for the fact. Did his mother and father cry when they had heard the news? In the years that he had been gone, Kuma had never tried to contact them, if only to keep them safe from the Raikage’s retribution, so he was unsure if they knew of his fate. Would they be proud of his decisions, of his supposed crimes? Most likely not, he sighed, knowing full well that the details of his detention and escape most likely had been exaggerated in order to shed Kumogakure in a more positive light.
Ah well.
Rajani stood as if to invite him along, and he smiled softly, his attitude now tinged with a bit of self-loathing and nostalgia. Had he been paying more attention, he would have noticed the subtle tensing and relaxing of her muscles, would have heard the barest hint of listlessness in her voice, but instead he had completely missed everything, too wrapped up in his own issues to take on those of others for the time being. “Should we go…?” [/blockquote]

Kogitsune's eyelids fluttered open from being exposed to the sunlight, and gave a light moan and closed them back, pulling the blanket over his head. He had never been a morning person... though, as he peeked out and allowed his eyes to adjust, according to his clock, it was almost noon. He slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes before giving a silent yawn and flopping back down to rest for a few more minutes. He didn't want to force himself to get up. There wasn't much he had planned on doing today anyways, and he didn't really want to make plans. If anything, he was just going to go exploring on the far side of town and see what he hadn't been to yet.
It was nice living in a foreign country. Like a vacation... that so many of his comrades would have done anything for. Yet, here he was, wasting the beautiful sunlight that they would all have been enjoying by now. And if there was anything that motivated him, it was the memories of his village.
He finally sat up again and rubbed the sleep from his eyes with the seat of his hand, then stood and began dressing. He was going to explore Konohagakure no Sato for his people. There was no slacking off on this.
He slipped a few thousand ryou into his pocket and, hoping that no random thief would try to steal it, set out for the morning when he noticed none other than Ryuu Rajani walking past his apartment. A grin spread over his lips... and then slipped off as soon as he saw her companion.
It was Kuma.
The lusty memories came flooding back, and Kogitsune covered his mouth and cheeks to hide the immense blush that covered his cheeks. How had Kuma...? He was a nukenin, too! How in the world did he make it into Konohagakure? His heart picked up pace, and as the unforgettable pictures filled his mind, he felt a tingling sensation and a lump rising to his throat... and then his dreaded curse took hold once again, and he collapsed to the ground in a fit of harsh coughs that rattled his muscles enough for him to cave in on himself and grip his ribs for support.

Rajani heard the cough she knew was related to Kogitsune. She was worried as she looked and found the source. Kogitsune! She said as she moved through the crowd to get to the weak ninja. She hated to see him in such a vunerable position. She didn't enjoy watching anyone suffering especially after what she had endured.
She reached him and didn't really know what to do she looked to Kuma and wished he would hurry up. She had just made well maybe not something as strong as a friendship but something that could develop into one. She looked and wondered what she could do for him.
"Kuma can you do anything? Can you help him?" she asked thinking of his need to replenish medical supplies. She hated how confused she felt about everything and feeling helpless to help those she wanted to get close to as friends.

The journey was going pleasantly, and Kuma was just happy to be somewhere that would hopefully become familiar. The fact that he had a guide now was wonderful, and he allowed a small shred of contentment to cross his features, the awkward and jittery air falling away as he walked with Rajani through the streets. It was almost fun, and he remembered how he used to enjoy the small shopping trips with his kouhais back in Kumogakure. The dark thoughts that usually accompanied any memory of his home village were strangely absent, and he allowed a smile to cross his face. He still didn’t know the woman next to him too well, but the sparks of friendship were definitely there, and Kuma was inwardly thrilled that he had managed to make an acquaintance in the hostile village.
Just as he was about to turn to question her about the path that they were taking, a harsh, racking cough resounded throughout the area, drowning out nearby voices and noise.
Oh gods It wasn’t. It couldn’t- His stunned thoughts were interrupted as Rajani dashed off into the crowd, and he flicked his gaze towards her retreating form, jaw dropping at the sight. Before he could process any other though, his skin flushed a bright read, and his vision swam for a moment, all sorts of inappropriate memories flooding into his mind, overwhelming his normally decent sensibilities. There was absolutely no way, but as a name rang out through the chaos, the missing-nin felt a strange tightening in his chest, as if his body was well aware of the fact that yes, it was indeed the other man that he had lain with only days before. There was another shout, this time for help, and Kuma was conflicted as to what to do; he was a doctor first and foremost, and he had a duty to help those that were suffering, no matter what the situation, but still… He had fled after their last encounter, before the other shinobi had awoken, so how was he supposed to deal with suddenly finding the ill man here of all places?! His thoughts wavered, personal gain warring with his medic’s vows, but ultimately his compassionate nature won out, and he found himself hurrying over, pushing Rajani aside with a gentle hand. It seemed that whatever had weakened the man’s lungs was acting up again, and he grasped he convulsing shinobi’s side, pushing him onto his back. What had Rajani called him again? Kogitsune? That wasn’t important at the time, and he gathered energy into his palms, as much as he could so that he didn’t have to peel back that vest again, didn’t have to lay a hand on the soft, warm skin- Though it hardly seemed possible, Kuma’s face flushed even brighter, and he tried to busy himself with the work in front of him. He ran his hand down Kogitsune’s chest, trying to target the worst of the damage in order to ease the man’s breathing. “Is…is this n-normal for h-him?”[/blockquote]

Rajani's voice rang out over the crowd, and Kogitsune caught an earful, causing his head to spin slightly, and before he knew it, he was doubled over in pain, and blood covered his palm. Throguh his blurred, teary vision, he noticed that a few rouge droplets had managed to spray onto the ground, painting it the color of Kuma's beautiful eyes... and before he could think, he had been straightened and placed on the dirt trail in front of the doorstep, and those mentioned eyes were caressing his body.
Kogitsune's countenance turned several shades of brilliant red, and he dry-swallowed as the medic's glowing hand began to calm his body once more. It sent his veins pumping in another way, slowly filling with the adrenaline that accompanied the sensation that previous time, but with difficulty, the shinobi was able to suppress the unwanted rush.
His own dark eyes scrutinized his acquaintance's face, and the pangs of guilt and longing began to set in. Had Kogitsune done something wrong to make the other leave earlier than he had wished? Did he not give the other as much pleasure as he had wanted? Or... maybe Kuma just wasn't interested in long-term relationships with guys like him. Maybe he needed someone stronger, someone able to protect him when he needed help... someone not like Kogitsune.
Kogitsune's eyes closed, and he rested his cheek on the warm ground as tears welled in the corners of his eyes. Why was he getting so upset? He hardly knew the other. All he was certain about was that he was a medic and a nukenin from Kumogakure. He didn't know his likes, his dislikes, his hobbies, his interests... He didn't even know for sure that his savior truly liked guys. He had heard that sometimes, a straight man would give in to a homosexual and leave him with no intentions of returning afterward. And Kuma seemed so... nervous. But, then again, he had no room to talk.
