Looking for someone (Sakura and Ino)

[Kiba Inuzuka]

Kiba stumbled behind the bookcase and blinked with curious beast eyes as he waited for Sakura to occupy Ino long enough for him to get to the front counter and pay, and that wasn't even the hardest part, he still needed to leave the store to get the last item for Ino. "Ughh...Come on already..." Kiba said under his breath.

A part of him felt happy to see Ino however, but why now? Oh how things can go awry when you try to do something for someone you care for. "Please Sakura, Get things rollin'..." He thought to himself, simply peeking through to see if the two girls would move at all.

Sakura knew for a fact that Ino's attention wouldn't be distracted enough to allow Kiba to carefully escape the place, and as Ino dragged her to a more secluded corner, Sakura had to think real fast. The shop wasn't really a private enough place for her to say anything about what she was going to, but eventually they would have to find somewhere that would be suitable for that. Sakura wasn't about to blurt something like that out in a public place.

"Eheh, I'd rather hear what you have to say first! But wait, let's go somewhere more private, huh?" Without warning, Sakura grabbed Ino's wrist and dragged her out of the shop, taking her down one of the alleys and along some of the side streets until they reached the rather empty areas of the public park. Dragging the blonde to a shaded area, she immediately turned around, a look of curiosity spread across her face.

"Okay fine, I may as well speak first," she said, taking a deep breath. It wasn't hard to tell that she was nervous about what she was about to say, not to mention unsure. Sitting down to calm herself, Sakura straightened her face and began to speak. "I think... I-I don't know quite yet, I'm still mostly unsure, but..." It seemed she was having trouble getting the right words to say it, but as she did so, a thought of that blonde boy clouded her mind. Just thinking about him and the fact that she could probably see him any day made her heart leap.

"Err, um, h-how about you go... first?" Sakura stuttered, laughing sheepishly and rubbing the back of her neck. "I don't quite know how to say what I uh, want to say yet, heh... heheh...."

Ino was surprised at how rushed Sakura was, was what she wanted to tell her that important? whatever it was, ino wouldn't care, it was nice to have a girly chat with someone once in awhile. Turning sharp corner's, Ino noticed a few apples fly out of her brown bag but Sakura seemed to be moving so fast that she didn't have time to bother and pick them up.

Sitting down beside Sakura, Ino placed the bag upon the floor and listened intently to her words which didn't come out very smoothly. "me..go first?" Ino jolted her head back slightly, her cheeks started to burn.

So how was so going to tell Sakura that she liked Kiba? it almost seemed unbelievable. " Well..I..met a guy.." Ino started rubbing the back of her head while laughing awkwardly. "We spent the day together not that long ago and.." Ino was being awfully slow about it.

" I really like him" By this time, Ino had stopped rubbing the back of her head but instead placed her hands upon her lap, looking down at the ground so Sakura could see her blush. "Its Kiba"

Kiba sighed in relief as Sakura managed to pull the Yamanaka girl away from the store, allowing him to move casually to the front of the store to the purchase counter. "Thank god, I didn't think those two would ever leave..." Kiba muttered to himself, knowing about how those two could stand in the middle of traffic and carry on an effective conversation. The Inuzuka boy blushed a bit as he put both girly objects on the counter to buy, but quickly dished out a bit of money to make the purchase and snagged the brown bag to quickly run off to the next spot.

After standing out in front of the store and not seeing Akamaru right away, Kiba gave a loud pitched whistle and called out for the huge dog and within a few moments, he emerged from the alleyway where he was in wait for Kiba's call. "Alright, lets see..." Kiba growled, opening the scroll and looking at what Sakura wrote. "Ewww....girl writing..." He muttered, even though he was able to read it with no problem.

"Its on the other side of the market..." Kiba growled, trying to think of the quickest route there, and realized he would need to go by the park and through a pretty stuffy place with a big dog. "Alright...lets hit it!!" He cried, hopping up on the white nin-dog's back and holding on to the bag and for his dear life as Akamaru began to stride through the market, beginning to pass the park, hoping no one he knew or Ino didn't spot him.

Sakura painfully listened to Ino drawing out who this mystery guy was, nodding and making a bit of noise with each comment. When Ino mentioned it was Kiba, Sakura gasped appropriately, her mouth forming that girly o-shape and both hands covering it. She was somewhat surprised and yet somewhat not; nonetheless, this would be absolutely perfect for both her and Ino.

"Kiba?! Oh my gosh, I gotta know all the details! But... I guess it's only, er, eheheheh, fair that I tell you, heheh, right? Eheheh..." It wasn't hard to tell that Sakura was more than just a little nervous. Ino was probably the only one that saw her laugh so nervously, and it was pretty rare at that. Sakura could feel the heat beginning to pink her cheeks, and nervously she bit her lip. Quickly she glanced around, making sure there was nobody that could possibly hear them. Grabbing Ino's shoulder, she gently pulled the blonde closer so she wouldn't have to whisper so loudly, and she could talk so that only Ino would be able to hear.

"It's about... Naruto." Sakura managed, swallowing the lump that was forming in her throat. "I think..." she leaned away, taking a deep breath to continue. Now that she'd gotten his name out of the way, the rest would be easy. "I think I, er, well, y-you know, right?" Sakura flashed Ino a pleading look and a nervous smile.

"The worst part is, I'm not even sure yet. I mean... I'm over Sasuke-kun, of course, and obviously you are too, but... This isn't the same! I realize now I didn't actually love Sasuke-kun like I thought I did. You understand that, right?" She was sure Ino would be one of the only people who would be able to understand that feeling, as it was the reason that the two of them had always feuded with each other, and the reason that their friendship had been on and off at those times. Now they were good friends again, much like they had been when they were much younger, but they were still friendly rivals all the same.

"I don't even know! I mean, jee, I hadn't seen him in the past two and a half years, because he was off training with Jiraiya... Y-you saw me that day! When I saw that he'd come back, it was like there was a sudden weight lifted off of me, and even though he did some... Rather disgusting things, or was about to with Konohamaru around, I... I was so happy! Happy enough that I ran up and hugged him! And then, later, when I was supposed to go to Tanzaku with Kogitsune, he said something... He never finished what he was going to say, but... He-- he mentioned something about how... Even though I speak of him as a friend and teammate... Well, that was all he said, but I mean, he-- he didn't have to even finish for me to know! Oh, I'm so confused," Sakura finished, hanging her head. Wow, had she ever just babbled. She never usually went off like that, but Ino was probably one of the only people whom she could do that around and not look like an idiot.

"Anyways. Spill, before I go nuts."

Ino was surprised at Sakura's reaction, she somewhat expected more of a scene, but Ino was thankful for how cavalier she was being. But know that she had said her's out of the way everything else would be an ease to spill right?

Ino's jumped slightly as she was pulled closer to Sakura, she was being oddly nervous, so the gossip must be good. Ino listened intently, her eyes widened at his name. Sakura likes..Naruto? It wasn't completely a surprise, practically everyone in the village knew of Naruto's crush on Sakura. " You like Naruto?" Ino spoke outloud dumbly, completely blocking out the load of babbling Sakura just did.

"THATS GREAT" she cried, clapping her hands together in excitement, Ino was happy for Sakura, Ino hadn't gotten over Sasuke awhile back and it was nice to know her friend had finally moved on. "Now that i think about it, you two totally suit, except for the clash of color, yellow and pink? not a good combo" Ino went alittle off topic.

"Oh me and Kiba, well I dont know, i got lost in the woods and he came and found me, you know like the knight in shining armour sort of thing, except he wasnt..charming to say the least he was actually quite cocky and sometimes annoying, but he grew on me. I had an amazing time, and i got to see him without his jacket." Ino smiled smugly and leaned to wards Sakura's ear "Which was totally worth it."

Sakura gasped at the mention of the jacket-less Kiba. Sakura never would've looked at Kiba that way, but it brought back a few hidden memories of her seeing Naruto without his clothing... She'd caught him once in his boxers, back at their first crack at the Chuunin exams. Sasuke had set Naruto to fishing while he and her set up a fire for them... As well, Sakura had once seen him sleeping in his boxers, too. She'd come to wake him up for something or other, and she recalled his thoroughly messy room, too. It was pretty disgusting to her, how he could live like that, but... She hated to admit it, but she'd liked seeing him like that.

"Your knight in shining armour, sort of? I remember once when Naruto was like that... First crack at the Chuunin exams, Gaara caught me under a blanket of sand... I recall them saying I passed out, and I don't actually remember much of it, but Sasuke-kun and Pakkun told me that he fought as hard as he could just to save me..." In remembrance of that, Sakura flushed a light pink, giggling.

"B-but wait, what would colour have to do with it? I mean... You have to admit, for as annoying and perverted as he is, he's really nice sometimes. And he cares, and he's determined. I remember the wounds he got when he tried to bring Sasuke-kun back... They were horrible. I almost blamed myself because I'd begged him to bring Sasuke-kun back..." Sakura felt a pang of guilt now in remembering that, but she quickly snapped out of it.

"Okay. I just thought of something. How about... Hmm. If you can help me get Naruto... then I'll help you get Kiba." Well, technically Sakura had already agreed to her half, what with helping Kiba and all. Of course, it hadn't exactly been intentional in regards to helping Ino, but at least Sakura had already paid her dues. Why not do a little more? "Please. I... I don't even know if he thinks of me that way, and I really want to find out. You're good at finding that out, right? If you do... I think I might be able to tell you Kiba's stand. I was talking to him earlier." A sly smile spread its way across Sakura's face; she was thoroughly enjoying this. She wouldn't dare tell Ino what she knew until Ino found out whether Naruto liked her or not. Nope, it was simply part of the deal. Now she was even more glad she'd ran into Kiba earlier. It mightn't have helped her otherwise.

Ino listened to Sakura, trying not to butt in if she would help it. Ino smiled lightly as her friend started to blush over memories of Naruto. "I think i remember hearing something about that from someone" She responded thinking back to the first time she was at the chuunin exams, at that time her and Sakura were sworn enemies. It's funny how things could change so quickly.

"Oh sakura i was kidding, Theres nothing wrong with either of your hair color" Ino laughed giving her bangs a flick. "I will admit as much as a hot headed shinobi he is, i think he does care alot about you Sakura" Ino shifted in her seat, she had heard so many stories of Naruto.

"I will help you get Naruto, but are you even sure Kiba will like me? i mean i did hurt him, quite a few times actually. " Ino was now started to get alittle nervous, what if he didn't like her, like she liked him? Ino didn't want it to be like the sasuke situation again. She reassured herself, Kiba was different. "Okay i will talk to Naruto for you, but i have no doubt in my mind that he totally digs you"

[Kiba Inuzuka]

Even as the two girls spoke, Kiba and Akamaru continued to work their way through the busy crowds in the market, "Watch out!! Whoa!! Excuse us!! Inuzuka and Big Dog coming through!!" Kiba cried, clearing a path straight through as he could see the shops just beyond the wall of people. "Hehe, that locket is as good as mine..." Kiba said lowly, jumping from Akamaru as he skidded to a stop in front of a small store that seemed to have a lot of unique things, such as charms and necklaces and things of that sort.

"Hmm, well Sakura...I hope you're right..." Kiba growled, stepping inside slowly, beginning to quickly shift into search mode for the flower locket. "Grrr...What am I gonna tell her once I give her this stuff? I mean...she may not go for this, but I gotta try something..." Kiba growled to himself. "Sakura is her best friend and a good person, she wouldn't let me down, I know it."

Kiba searched around the small store, amazed with a lot of the things inside, and was especially taken when a silver Dog charm necklace, it simply looked amazing. "No, no...focus Kiba, we're here for a flower locket..."

After nearly 10 minutes of searching, Kiba's eyes fell on a glass display with the assortment of lockets and necklaces and sure enough...there it was. A golden locket in the shape of a Sunflower, even Kiba knew a Sunflower...and it looked amazing. "Oh yes, I gotta have it...she'll flip." Kiba said with a smirk, and immediately motioned to a clerk to get it out for purchase.

"Hehe, I can't wait to see the look on her face..." Kiba whispered to himself as he dealt out the correct money before grabbing the small box in which the golden Sunflower locket and necklace were put into.

So Ino thought that Naruto might have a thing for her already?! Oh, that just made things even better. Of course, when Ino brought up the subject of her hurting Kiba, it only made her laugh more. The fact that Ino had absolutely zero doubt in her mind that Naruto might like her just made things even brighter and happier for Sakura.

"Oh, I'm sure the way you hurt Kiba doesn't compare to what I do," Sakura said, grinning. "You know that one first-hand. Though... I don't use that when it's Naruto. It's au naturel," she said, waving her gloveless hand. "Besides, I can't do much without the gloves, anyways. It's too hard on the skin, especially with the impact... And the, er, small amount of space, too." She was sure Ino wouldn't get that, but Sakura knew it. Shoving so much chakra into such a small space caused the explosion to rock both ways, but usually away from her fist. If she didn't release it at the right time, then chances were she would either lose the chakra - if released too soon - or she would break her own limb if it were released too late.

"And, Ino-chan, I've already talked to Kiba. One step ahead, as always," Sakura said, shrugging. She smirked at Ino, a sly look across her face; obviously, she knew something truly that Ino didn't. Kiba should have gotten there by now, but with the way the market was, him and Akamaru could've been a little while. Nonetheless... This is going to be awesome. "Ino-chan, why don't we go find Kiba? And yes, you look fine. I don't think it'd matter to him if you were a mess anyway, but you look perfectly fine."

Ino laughed at how smiley sakura was being once she mentioned she had no doubt Naruto liked her already, it made her giggle. Ino laughed more remembering how many times Sakura had punched Naruto, it was true Sakura was a brute sometimes, scratch that most of the time. Ino was still aching from the last spar she had with her.


Ino practically ignore the rest of Sakura comments on chakra, etc etc. She was here to hear some gossip not sit there looking dazed as Sakura continued to talk about chakra and punching and other things that wasn't relevant to the situation at hand. Ino suddenly snapped back into reality. "You've already talked to him?!" She gasped sitting back blushing alittle.

"What did he say, Did he tell you about in the woods? Is he still annoyed that i threw a rock at him?" Ino was about to continue with aload more questions but stopped herself remembering something. "So i did see you in town?" She questioned remembering see them one minute then they were gone the next.

"I dont know what to say!" She mumbled fidgeting alittle.

[Kiba Inuzuka]

Kiba moved slowly out of the store and grasped onto the brown bag that contained the items that Ino would hopefully love and be impressed with. He didn't care if Ino didn't get him anything in return, he simply just needed to express himself through some way and this seemed perfect.

"Alright, Now where did Sakura drag Ino off to?" Kiba said lowly, walking alongside Akamaru, scanning the crowd to see if he spotted anyone around. "Sheesh, Sakura must have drug her to the end of creation or something..." He muttered, kicking a rock as the two walked along. Akamaru barked to get some people out of the way and the two continued to slowly walk back towards the way they came.

"I really cant wait to give Ino this stuff...I wonder how she'll take it, or I wonder if she'll be speechless, or maybe she'll ask question after question...oh boy..." Kiba said, feeling like a little kid at the moment. "It shouldn't be this hard to find girls who do nothing but gossip, just follow the juicy talk..." Kiba joked to himself.

A smug smile crossed Sakura's face as Ino blundered and asked about what Kiba had said. Now that she had both of them wrapped around her fingers, she just needed to untie them from herself and tie them together. She had this all plotted out well; she was going to play a game of matchmaker with these two. Then hopefully...

Hopefully, something with Naruto can happen... Sakura was definitely liking the sound of thing sin regards to that. If this could work out for Ino and Kiba thanks to her, then the both of them would owe her big time. Perhaps Ino could coach Sakura herself, and Kiba could confront Naruto for her. The thought of that h made her that much brighter and more determined to make this work out.

Sakura gaped when Ino brought about the mention of throwing a rock at Kiba's head. "What do you mean, you throw a rock at him?! Wait... Did he play some prank on you?" For a moment she paused, remembering the poor Kiba she'd left to go find gifts for Ino; she needed to find him and coach him before he spoke to her.

"Er, actually, tell me later, okay? Kiba told me that uh... That he and Akamaru were going to help me find some herbs! I'll come find you later, okay?" Without waiting for a response from the blonde, Sakura speedily made her way out of the park and hopefully out of Ino's sight an earshot. Wandering down the street a little, she saw Kiba riding Akamaru once again, and rushed toward him.

"So, you found everything, I hope? Now you just need a nice gift bag, but I'll save your pocket a little. I bought one for her birthday a couple days ago, but it's too small for what I got her." Sakura protruded a small purple fabric bag, made of velvet with flowers stitched into the fabric. Sakura opened the bag and held it open for Kiba to place the gifts in.

"She should still be in or near the park now, and if she asks about you going to search for herbs with me, tell her I said I lied, but she'll be glad I did."

Ino continued to blabber an blabber about Kiba, trying to leave out the part's where she caused him pain, which cut the story alittle short. It was a relief to finally get this all out of her system and finally have someone to chat about it with, she could really talk to shikamaru or Chouji, Hinata well, Ino didnt know her too well, she didnt talk much and Shino was a big no no.

Looking over to Sakura, she imagined her with Naruto, before she would never of thought of them as a couple, well she had always seen it as one sided, Naruto was always trying to get Sakura's affection, but now Sakura was willing to give it back, well it couldn't help but scream fairytale romance to Ino.

"Yeah, he pulled a prank on m-" Ino was cut sort as her friend jumped to her feet. "Huh what? where are you going?" she asked before Sakura could even explain. "Kiba? Well i could come with you, I have nothing else to do."

Ino looked down to the floor for just a second as a blush formed at the mention of his name, it was only now Sakura knew that she found herself feeling embarrassed. Looking back up she expected to see Sakura then but instead she was already gone and out of her sight.

Kiba was relieved to see Sakura come back for him, since he had no idea on where or what the two were doing or even where they were. "Oh thank god...I thought you'd never come back." Kiba grumbled to Sakura. "I found everything just fine and I'm ready to do this thing..." He said lowly.

In reality, Kiba hadn't felt this nervous in ages, probably the closest thing was when Sakon and Ukon found him after he and Akamaru had dealt damage to the both of them, but thats another story. Right now, Kiba was trying to keep his thoughts and actions to a restricted state at the moment.

"Huh? You've got another bag?" Kiba asked, looking a bit surprised. "Awesome!! She'll love this...I owe you a huge one Sakura, thats for sure..." He said with a big grin. With this, Kiba put the Golden Sunflower locket, Purple Lilac hair clip and Red Rose Hair Tie within the purple bag and lightly took it from Sakura.

"Ok, I got it...I can't wait to see the look on her face." Kiba said with a huge toothy smile. "Thanks again Sakura!!" He cried, taking off with Akamaru to find Ino. It wouldn't be too hard to find the fragrance that she normally wore amongst the parks boundaries.

Within a few minutes, Kiba had spotted Ino, but hesitated for a few moments, trying to think and work up his confidence, until finally he had the guts...

"Hey Ino, Whatcha up to?" Kiba said, with a nervous grin on his face.
