Neji listen to her statement about things was being awkward there. There was more than he realize that was going on her little head a that moment. It was not all about weapon, but more about them to spending more and more time together any way that they could for the most part. Being at the ball last night made the connection between them fuse more together he knew that best of all. He was not too sure exactly what happened last night but the air around them shifted towards them being together like this and it was something for the better in his eyes.
He nodded slightly at her statement, knowing that it was true. He looked at her at a different light last night and it rather well paid off for the most part to him. There was nothing he could do about it now and just go with whatever was happening between them. It didn't seem that either two of the was pulling back away from one of another. They was embarrassing them self in each other arm and most likely wondering the exact same thing at how far their relationship would go between them.
Neji could not see himself falling for anyone other than Tenten for the matter, it was just that bond between them. They shared something that most shinobi teams could only hoped for in the long run for years. They have developed a bond in their first year of training together mostly thanks to Gai and Lee need to make up stupid training and challenges that they wanted him and Tenten to take part in and there was no way of doing that for them. Wearing that green jump suit like that and dancing around the village in it. He wanted to throw up just thinking about it in the long run. Either way things was better and he couldn't be happier.
He looked to her when she pulled away from him and gave him that look about something. This was either going to turn out bad for him or she was joking with. He was not sure what she was planning, he had learned his lesson about girls for today and he didn't really want another on so soon at the moment. Today all the girls had decided to gain up on him and it was bond to stop sooner or later right. Things could not keep going on like this for him, if they did by chase he was sure he was going to end up a worse busted up lips than he already had.
He blinked slightly and she poked at his chest once. He was not sure what she thought she was doing poking him like that but it seemed like she was only teasing or playing with him. It was not something that he was use to her doing with him, but knew that it was something that he better warm up to either fast, there was no where around it in the long run now. He was free game to her more than what he realize now.
It was hurting but he was thinking that he would go ask Sakura later to treat it so he didn't actually have to got to the hospital and try to explain to them what exactly happened to his lip. This way he could say sorry and ask her polite not to spread it around that she had given him the split lip to start with. It was the right thing to do and it would show that he could be a man about this sort of things right. No hard feelings about things that was said and did before. There went some more of his ego right? What caught him off guard was that she leaned up and kissed him on the side of his lip that was not busted up Sakura. He was grateful about, she was thinking about his well being more so than pleasing herself for now. He knew he was going to have to make this up to her some how.
He smiles slightly at her answer it was in a whisper to his ear has her arms was around him. This was a moment that he was going to cherish in his mind for some time to come. She sent a shiver up his spine and his lips twitched slightly into a smile, tho it didn't hold long at all. "Yes I suppose I did know the answer."
He shock his head slightly when she told him that she should have stop Sakura from hitting him. They was right, he did deserve what he go for the most part and now there was nothing to do but suck it up and say he was sorry and thank you for his busted lip. "I know not to mess with you....but I never thought Sakura was able to pull of such a punch like that. It not something I will take lightly now. I will say I am sorry to her. Don't where, there nothing much I can do about it now." He was trying make it seem better in the long run for himself.

Stand In The Rain, Stand Your Ground, Stand Up When It's All Crashing Down... ~She Doesn't Know Why, But She Knows That When She's All Alone, Feels Like It's All Coming Down~❃♈❃ тєитєи ❃♈❃"Okay, if you insist, remember you asked for it!" ______________________________________________________________________________________ She didn't miss at all the gesture that he'd made when she'd whispered like that... She could sort of guess the reason behind it. She was being fairly playful, after all, and it made sense... Though one couldn't exactly describe the reason, she knew. She caught the ghost of a smile on his face as she lowered herself back down from her tip-toes to her normal height, her arms sliding their way around his torso once more. She wouldn't relinquish any part of this moment, not for anything... Well, that was an understatement to an extent, but... Not for anything minor, at least.
She listened to him as he spoke about how he was going to apologize to Sakura and never underestimate her strength again... Tenten chuckled slightly. "She's been training with Tsunade... She can break the ground into little bits with a single punch, knock trees over with a heel... It's kind of scary, actually." Of course, Tenten still had that urge to spar with Sakura someday, as well as a nice spar with Temari - she somewhat wanted a touch of revenge for the event back at the first Chuunin exams, but nonetheless, she still respected Temari. The woman was a Jounin, after all...
"I still feel bad, though... Hmm, perhaps I'll have to throw a few things at her to get a point across..." Instantly, she snorted at the pun, having not intended it. "No pun intended," she added, chuckling. A point across... Oh, she was good all right. And hell, that hadn't even been intended. Usually when Tenten wanted to get a point across, she could do it two ways... Verbally with words and physically with a very sharp, pointed object... Or a multitude of them.
Not long after she'd spoken her last comment, however, Tenten felt her stomach rumble. She hadn't eaten anything yet today, which meant she was starting to get rather hungry... And she was sure that with the silence, Neji would have heard it rather clearly. She let a sheepish chuckle escape from her throat, forgetting that she hadn't had a chance to really eat anything... It was slightly embarrassing to have had that happen at such a moment, but... Whatever the case, it was what it was.
"Oh, I guess I'm a little hungry, huh?" Tenten stated sheepishly, a light blush creeping on her cheeks for her forgetfulness. "Why don't we, uh, get something to eat?" She asked rather optimistically, guessing that he was probably getting to the stage of hunger as well. From what she could tell, it was probably almost noon... Though she wasn't entirely sure, but it was getting close. Nothing like going out to eat for a little bit, now was there?

Neji watched her pull back and talk about Tsunade and Sakura. She was right and he knew that in the long run that Sakura was training under the Hokage. It was not something that he missed it was simple the fact that he had never really seen the Hokage in action and never looked up her stats. It was something that he wanted to see for himself first hand about Tsunade. He knew that Tenten always did have a high respect for the Hokage and after being at the end of the impact with Sakura's fist and she didn't even hit that hard there was no way that he wanted to face that again in while and was not about to go challeging the older female into a spar. There was no way he wanted to end up at the end of her fist.
He blinked slightly when Tenten said that she felt bad now over his lip. She didn't have to feel bad, in fact after he got it she said he deserved it in the long run. There was no point in making her feel sorry for something that he should have kept to himself in the first place. Tenten could defend herself, and he crossed the line with talking to Sakura like that. When he first said it tho, he didn' think that he did but now looking back at everything he could see why he got punched like that. "Don't feel bad. I have to correct this." He hoped that she would take his words seriously because this meant that he was standing up when he knew he was wrong and was not trying to burst his ego again right?
He looked over to her once more when she said that she should threw a few things around. He chuckled to himself because the way she had said that. He didn't really think that it was going to go down that well. A girl fight was not something he was looking forward to the two of them. "That was a good one." He looked at her in her chocolate eyes and shock his head slightly. "I got myself into this mess. I should be the one getting myself out of it Tenten. Let me deal with Haruno Sakura...and if things don't go over to smoothly than you can throw things out to her.'
He looked down to her stomach when it growled slightly and then back up to her when she stated that she was hungry. He had to agree after everything that happened last night and this morning there was no better way at the moment than grabbing a bite to eat before they got all dressed up again. "Yes, lets go get something to eat." He thought for a moment to how late it was, he had no idea what time it was. He had failed at looking at a clock when he was at the house wanting to get away from Hanabi and his mother.
He let go of her and just reached for her hand has she questioned where they was going to go for something to eat. He didn't really want to show his face up at the Hyuuga District so that was out. Nor did he want to actually attempt for either of them to even cook because that would take longer and they was both hungry now. He didn't really want ramen so the ramen shack was out of course. The only place that he knew well enough was the BBQ restaurant and he would buy for the both of them. It wasn't nothing special right. "How about the BBQ restaurant?" With that he started to walk towards the town again.

Stand In The Rain, Stand Your Ground, Stand Up When It's All Crashing Down... ~She Doesn't Know Why, But She Knows That When She's All Alone, Feels Like It's All Coming Down~❃♈❃ тєитєи ❃♈❃"Okay, if you insist, remember you asked for it!" ______________________________________________________________________________________ She smiled at the mention of her being able to toss her pointed objects if things didn't go over well with Sakura. Oh, she would surely enjoy that, and Sakura would understand completely, too. She knew better, and she was no idiot, after all. Now hopefully Neji wouldn't kill the Haruno girl in response... Otherwise, things would be a bit too interesting for comfort. If one could think of it as interesting, that is.
As they started to walk, Tenten thought briefly about the suggestion. Cooking on their own would take too long... Ramen was a little too oily for Tenten's liking, and she'd ate it enough already, and anything else just didn't really appeal. A single nod was her answer as her fingers interlaced with his... Well, at least they wouldn't have to run around explaining things to anyone that asked, thanks to Hanabi. The Hyuuga girl was useful for something, at least. Though, she wasn't quite looking forward to the crowds, not really. Hopefully all the fangirls would be off in la-la land and too busy to pay attention to them. Otherwise, Tenten would have to make sure there were some pointed objects that would fly fairly quickly and perfectly accurate...
"Yeah, that sounds good," she thought, thinking about it. The only thing she could really remember about that place... Was the fact that Chouji ate there almost all the time. Hopefully the Akimichi teen wouldn't have eaten the whole place out of stock and at least left them something... Otherwise, that would've been simply terrible. Unless he was out on a mission... At least then they could enjoy a nice meal together. Hopefully life would be playing on her luck more than Neji's... Because his seemed to be at a one to four ratio of lucky to unlucky. Hers was probably sitting at about average... Or maybe slightly higher. She wasn't entirely sure.
As they entered the more popular areas of town, Tenten sent short glares to nearly anyone - mostly females, strangely enough - that happened to glance and gawk in their direction. What was she saying, basically? Either 'don't ask' or 'screw off'. Something like that. Of course, should Neji or someone she knew wasn't stupid - such as perhaps Ino - catch her gaze, it would immediately soften or become friendly, respectively. She had controlling her emotions and looks down to a T. It was just something you learned when you spent your time with either two overenthusiastic, sometimes idiotic men, or one that fluctuated between soft-spoken and absolutely silent.
"I swear to God, if anyone swarms us, I'm going to bust a cap on someone," Tenten muttered, directing the statement directly to Neji. It was only loud enough for him to be able to hear over the sounds of the merchants hollering at their stands, or people having a conversation in front of a shop, or whatever. They'd already had enough people on their asses and harassing them enough today... Hopefully nobody else would get brave about anything. Surely Neji could agree that that was the last thing either of them needed... ______________________________________________________________________________________ You Stand Through The Pain, You Won't Drown, And One Day What's Lost Can Be Found...

Neji knew that over weight shinobi Choji was usually there eating. There usually was not a day that he was not there. To call Choji over weight out loud was something that no one in their right minds would do, well here in Konoha now a days. Neji had not witness first hand yet what he was able to do when someone called him "fat", but he had heard from eye witness account the rampage the shinobi could do, and he was not stupid enough to call him that himself. Just like with the fist today he was not dumb enough to insult Sakura like that again. He learned rather fast maybe that was why he had made Jounin before anyone else in their age group.
He looked over to her when she said that it sounded good that they go to the restaurant to have lunch or breakfast whatever they was going to call it. As they started to walk back towards the village Neji had the idea of letting go of her hand, but before he even released it she had to ask why he was doing it? It was a matter of time before the whole village knew about them thanks to his cousin, why not make a move and just keep holding her hand in his. There was no point in trying to hide it from anyone when everyone was going to find out about them sooner or later.
He looked over to Tenten has she spoke about people swarming them. He knew what she could do in a bad mood and the event with Hanabi was no exception. He knew when they saw Hanabi again that Tenten was going to have a little word with her and he didn't want to be any part of it. He had his own way of dealing with Hanabi, he would step up a notch in their little training when he had to take part in it. He would show her what he was truly what he was able to do when given the chance to show off. He was never one to show off but at this time he was going to make it clear to his cousin not to go spying on him or Tenten for that matter.
"By all means go for it. It might make these girls to keep their hands away from me or something like that." He was trying to cheer her with his statement. He knew that he had a lot of fangirls in the village to the point where they asked him out whenever they thought he had looked their way. They was wrong at that, he never really looked at the girls like that, he felt they was nearly has shellow has those shinobi that had no real talent whatso ever.
They came up to the restaurant and he looked at her slightly. "So this is what it is like just to hang out with someone. Maybe I should see if she would like to do this some more. It wouldn't be right of me to keep training and training and not spend time with her without training." He made the decision to make a point to spend at lease one or two days without training with her during the week. This way they got to know each other more on a person level.
He walked in with her to the restaurant and saw an empty booth near a window. He took a quick look around and missed seeing Choji, that meant that they was spared the eyes of him for now at lease. If he came in during their time of having a meal, he was not sure that that he would notice them for the most part. It was weird but Neji doubt that there was something more than food that he loved. He looked over to her and waited for her to pick what side that she wanted to set on. Plus it would have been rude for him to just sit down like that without showing her what a gentlemen was suppose to do.

Stand In The Rain, Stand Your Ground, Stand Up When It's All Crashing Down... ~She Doesn't Know Why, But She Knows That When She's All Alone, Feels Like It's All Coming Down~❃♈❃ тєитєи ❃♈❃"Okay, if you insist, remember you asked for it!" ______________________________________________________________________________________ A light chuckle escaped her lips as he basically gave her permission to personally take care of anyone or anything that swarmed them. It made her giggle because it would be fun to take care of... But as they walked amongst a few shocked faces and a few chuckling ones, as well as to a few comments - that were easily shut down by a sharp glare from the weapons mistress - nobody swarmed them, very thankfully... One could see the relief crossing her face.
As they stopped, she noted that he seemed to be waiting... Waiting for her to sit first. She flashed him a look that said 'oh, you're such a gentleman' with an undertone of 'you didn't have to', but complied and sat down in one of the booths. It was a quiet area of the restaurant, thankfully... They wouldn't have looks glancing at them left, right, and centre. It seemed that, luckily, this area was used more by passers-by - in other words, travellers - rather than actual members of the village. And really, if one looked closely, they wouldn't be able to notice the interlocked fingers... Much to Tenten's relief.
"I hope Chouji's not here, because I'd like a full meal rather than the bare minimum of what's left after he's been through here," Tenten muttered dryly, though her tone was rather jovial at the same time. As the waitress came and Tenten placed an order for simply some water, she turned back to Neji as they waited for their beverages.
"My oh my, no swarming fangirls yet?" she muttered, leaning down closer to the table so as to keep the conversation within their little booth. No need for anybody to eavesdrop on them, after all. Her one hand, palm-up, rested underneath her chin, while her other was almost lazily stretched across the table, palm-down. "I guess I'm staking a claim, no? You're welcome," she added with a smile, meaning the statement as a bit of a joke. "Oh wait... I guess I did that last night... I guess they're off wallowing in absolute despair," Tenten lamented, rolling her eyes at the same time. Her lips half-curled into a look that resembled both a smirk and a smile at the same time... A smirk because it was funny, a smile because she was enjoying herself. At the moment, she felt rather light-hearted and in more of a light mood than anything else, because the day seemed to be going rather smoothly now. Hopefully it wouldn't be ruined by some other show-up by someone... Whomever that 'someone' might have been. ______________________________________________________________________________________ You Stand Through The Pain, You Won't Drown, And One Day What's Lost Can Be Found...

Neji could see the relief on Tenten's face as the fan girls that seemed to watch them walk towards the restaurant seemed to only glare and mumble to one another. It was a relief for him as well, he hated dealing with them and their questions about who was the prettist or something along those lines. It annoyed him when he was placed in that situation. He also wonder why girls could not learn to play nice with one another about all this crush and liking business. It went both ways right, there was no need to fight over a guy in the long run.
Neji watched her sit down and he sat down on the other side. He did noticed her looks that she gave him, he was not sure if she was being for real or just teasing with him about the looks for waiting for her to sit down. He always waited for his mother to sit down first and helped bring in the plates to the table. He was just trying to help her out in the long run. With Tenten it was just a habit that he had not broken yet and really didn't plan to. He could not help but to look around for the sign of Choji, when Tenten brought up hoping to have a full meal before he got there to eat it all. "...I never want to pay for his meal...." Neji didn't see Choji in here at the moment, but he knew that could change at any point in time. At lease they got here before him right?
He looked over to her once more as she placed one hand under her chin and her other hand was still in his own hand. He didn't want to let go of it for the most part but decided to let go of her hand for now. He placed both of his hands down onto his lip like he normally did. He was not sure why he did this it was just an habit that he did when waiting for food at a restaurant or when he mother made him sit before her. He looked over to the waiter when they asked what drink they would like. He waited for Tenten to tell her drink first and then asked for a glass of green tea. He drank water too much and wanted something else, beside he thought he earned it because of taking on Sakura without anymore back talk for now.
He looked back up to Tenten as she spoke about fangirls and how she kept them away last night at the dance. He had to agree anyone that was smart enough not to mess with him when Tenten was around had some brains. He knew that when she was not around was going to be a different story. He knew they was going to come around him and he would now have to find a new way of dealing with them. He smirked slightly and it disappeared when he came up with a thought. He looked into Tenten's chocolate eyes, he knew no one with the eyes liked hers. "...I am going to threaten any girl when you are not around to make sure to drop their names off to you..." He was half joking at this pint in time but also knew she would get a laugh out of it in the long run.

Stand In The Rain, Stand Your Ground, Stand Up When It's All Crashing Down... ~She Doesn't Know Why, But She Knows That When She's All Alone, Feels Like It's All Coming Down~❃♈❃ тєитєи ❃♈❃"Okay, if you insist, remember you asked for it!" ______________________________________________________________________________________ "That makes two of us," Tenten said in response to Neji's comment about not wanting to pay for Chouji's meal. Hell, nobody would have any money left if that were the case. Your pocket would probably have a permanent hole in it, you'd be left so far in debt. One would probably be washing dishes to make up for it. That thought made her shudder. She hated washing dishes... She would do it at home whenever asked, of course - though her mother still did it most of the time - but she still hated the job quite a bit.
When he seemed to come up with an idea, Tenten put on a curious look. She got the statement, sure, but she thought it would be funny to at least try to look admonished... Which failed rather terribly. She sucked at poker faces and the like when something was just that hilarious. Unable to keep the admonished look straight, she burst into tiny giggles at the thought, her teeth clenched to keep herself from laughing too loudly. They were in a public place, after all! She simply shook her head, shaking away the giggles that surfaced.
"Oh yes, I'll gladly give them all new ventilation holes," she muttered, a devious look in her eyes, accompanied by a rather devious smirk. "Feel free to incapacitate them if they annoy you, just make sure it's not someone that's going to come back for revenge," she said, referring mostly to either Sakura or Ino. She wasn't entirely sure if Ino would, but Sakura would definitely take another shot at Neji if given the chance. She'd already belted him in the mouth once... But it would be way better if he could incapacitate any females that swarmed him before shipping them off to Torture Chamber Number Two.
It was then, however, she noticed, that he was looking straight into her eyes... For a moment, she was lost. Having her own fangirl-esque moment... Though hers was based more of care and love rather than... Fangirlism. She'd always, always liked the way his dark brunette locks contrasted with his rather pale-seeming complexion and his gentle lavender eyes... If one knew it well, it was mesmerizing. She rather liked the uniqueness they presented, and although she did know people with similarly-coloured eyes - Hanabi and Hinata, to name a few - she always knew his were... Quite different. The same, yet different at the exact same time. She rather liked it.
Shaking herself out of her daze as the waitress came back with their drinks, Tenten took a sip of her water. She wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to order for actual food yet, but she'd think about it. She could see that they had soup on for a special... That wouldn't be a bad idea. She kept that in the back of her mind and focused on the conversation at hand.
"So, hmm... What do you want to do after?" she asked, wondering a little. What exactly would they do? There was still the daily activities and games of the festival going on, but Tenten didn't really want to go to any of that. As complicated as their friendship might have been before, it was a lot less, well, 'awkward' now, thankfully. It was something she could handle without having that oppressing weight pushing down on her shoulders. ______________________________________________________________________________________ You Stand Through The Pain, You Won't Drown, And One Day What's Lost Can Be Found...

Neji was not stupid enough to make enemies with girls, at lease not in the way of threatening them with Tenten when they started to bug him. He also knew that the girls that he did know and most of the time force to work with, Sakura, Ino for example both of them was sorta in a twisted relationship. That relationship Neji was not dumb enough to be drawn within it, there was no reason for him to get in the middle of that square of a love. Plus he didn't want to get punched in the face by Sakura again, his lip was still hurting but he was not about to go show the pain to anyone. He was not the type of man that showed how much pain he was in, but no doubt Tenten knew. "I know Tenten." That was all he was going to say about it.
He watched her chocolate eyes, she was the only girl that he knew that had these dark chocolate eyes. Well actually she was the only girl that he knew that he had taken the time to actually know and be close to. The other ones was just assoicates due to being a shinobi, he walked with other girls but never had he found one that he was as close to has Tenten. He didn't want that to change in the long run. Their relationship had changed from being close friends to now boyfriend and girlfriend. It was something that he was going to work on not to destroy before it got started.
He took a deep breath as the waiter came back with their drinks. He knew that she was staring at him just like he was with her, but someone had to break that off now huh? He reached for his tea and took a drink, the cold liquid on his busted lip eased the pain some for now. He took a rather big drink just to keep the cold on his lip for another moment or so. He lowered the class just as Tenten asked what they was going to do after lunch.
He picked up the menu and glanced over it for a moment or so. "Since you want to go back to the dance, we can swing by my house grab the clothing, and a change of clothes and go back to your house." That to him seemed like the reasonable thing to do. He was not sure exactly how long it took her to get ready for the dance last night, but from what he had gather about girls they seemed to take a good amount of time on stuff like that.
He was no way trying to insult Tenten on this matter. He was just being cautious, well to him he was. "We can just hang out there and talk for a few hours. So there no chance that Lee or anyone else can go and find us and try to make us train for the day." For once really he was not in the mood to train, he just wanted to relax and gather his own thoughts about things, specially about Tenten.
