This was it. This was absolutely it, and Sakura was glad to do this once again. It was almost like back at the Chuunin exams, for the first time, where they'd been set against each other in the preliminaries. That itself had been quite the battle, the battle to see who was better. That time, it had ended in a draw, but Sakura hadn't had much to throw at Ino, either. While the two of them were both med-nin now, Sakura was the more proficient medic, not to mention that her Taijutsu greatly outmatched most people of their graduating class. The only two that could probably be comparable in that area was Hinata, and from the year before's class, Lee and Neji. Of course, they would have to be quick enough to evade her attacks, because if they even blocked, Sakura could make a hit. She had a high enough chakra control that if she hit even once, chances were she'd get you. She'd been taught well, that was for sure.

Of course, Ino had gotten significantly better at most things as well. She'd learned a few more of her Yamanaka techniques, but nonetheless her Mind-Body Switch was rather useless, as Sakura seemed to have some strange, built-in defense to that. She was sure that Ino wasn't stupid enough to try something like that, and because it was just a simple spar, she wasn't about to go slicing her hair off to trap Sakura, either. The Chuunin exams had been to see who would advance, but the fight had ended in a draw.

The question now was, who was going to take the cake this time? Before they had been rather evenly matched, and even then, Sakura had been a teeny little weakling with nothing but a strong grasp of chakra control. She'd had no special techniques that were unique to her, while most of her other teammates had. Sasuke'd had the Chidori, Naruto his Kage Bunshin, and a significant number amongst the numerous others that were there. Sakura, however, had been that average little shinobi. However, now she had something that stood out; she was the Legendary Sannin Tsunade's, also now the Hokage's, student, and had inherited that insane sort of 'strength' from her. Of course, there was also the fact that Sakura was a med-nin, too, and she knew how to predict the moves of her opponents. She knew how to read bodily movements well, and while it wasn't always perfect, it was usually rather foolproof. This little spar of theirs would tell all, that was for sure.

As Ino walked to wards the area were she was supposed to meet Sakura her mind could help but think back to the past, the chuunin exams. Ino was pretty sure if it hadn't been for the images of their childhood holding her back she could of won it easily. Before deciding to meet up with her friendly rival she checked to see everything in place, her small pouch of kunai tightly wrapped around her thigh and a few paper bombs, though she doubt she'd need them.

From what Ino had heard Sakura had extreme strength but lacked in ninjutsu, though Ino had mastered her mind body switch jutsu she wouldn't dare use it again, well not on Sakura. Ino always thought there was something wrong going on in sakura's mind, the Chuunin exams only proved she was right.

Ino stepped into the clearing, it wasn't hard to noticed her pink haired friend or enemy, all Dependant on how this fight should end. She didn't deny that she was Little worried, Sakura did train under Tsunade, and ask anyone and they would tell you how scary she could be.

"What's up Sakura-Chan? I didn't think you were this keen for another beating" Ino smirked, she knew for well it was a draw but she couldn't help but piss Sakura off, it was what she did best. [/blockquote] [/color]

A beating? Sakura smirked and chuckled at that. So she might be getting a little cocky over this; big deal! Ino was going to be the one getting the pounding anyways, or so she hoped. Her Mind-Body switch was completely useless against Sakura for some unknown reason - Sakura herself didn't even know how or why - and there was no way that Ino could avoid every single strike Sakura might throw at her. If Ino even took one hit, everything would be over. Of course, the nice part was, both of them could clobber at each other and not have to worry about it later. That was the one bonus of the both of them being med-nins, whether one was more proficient in the art or not.

"A beating, Ino-chan? I think not; you'll be the one with the broken bones!" Sakura chorused as she leaned her weight on one leg and propped her palm on the other. Reaching back with her free hand, she pulled out the tight black gloves she always wore and, smirking, slid them on her hands. "Didn't you see what Shishou-sama taught me? Oh wait, I guess you didn't... Never mind," Sakura added, smirking, as her face looked a little cocky. Suddenly, however, she became composed and serious, just to get this across.

"But seriously, Ino, I'm saying this for both of our health... If you can't go any longer, don't. Okay? I really don't want to kill you anyways, and dragging you to Shishou-sama wouldn't be in either of our best interests." After finishing her moment of seriousness, she smirked darkly at the blonde, then leaped back quickly, waiting for Ino to make the first move. In a sense, this was her own way of training, and it would be good for Ino to learn to predict the strikes of the opponent a little better. Sakura had learned to predict movements of her opponent quite well, and while it wasn't always foolproof, she was still rather skilled at it.

Grinning from ear to ear, she crouched down into a more battle-esque position, and waited for Ino to make the first move.

Ino frowned towards Sakura, just thinking about what she was thinking made her shiver with fright, she never really got over what she found though she still insists on bugging Sakura. Stepping back into a combat position slowly ino reached into her pouch and pulled out three kunai. she knew what she should do, avoid as many as Sakura's hits as possible which means long distance attacks.

Ino waited for Sakura to speak first, the seriousness in her voice almost worried Ino but it quickly faded. 'She is just trying to make me feel scared, Well that isnt going to work Sakura-chan' she thought to herself taking another sly step back. " Same to you Sakura-Chan" Ino grinned while poking out her tongue childishly.

Noticing Sakura move back Ino took this moment to flip back wards and land upon a low tree branch, quickly she threw the Kunai in her opponent's direction before quickly darting to the side, Ino was sure it would be unlikely that she would actually hit her but it she couldn't risk getting too close.

Did Ino really think she would catch someone like Haruno Sakura off guard like that? The fact that she'd brought those kunai out early hald told Sakura to watch out, and the rosette kunoichi had already been planning possible moves in her head. As Ino leaped back up into the tree, Sakura was already on the move, coming in at full speed. The kunai flew at her with quite the speed, but Sakura wasn't about to be caught by such child's play. She was being serious about this, and in her opinion, kunai was just a way of distracting your opponent. Of course, unless your name was Tenten. Then, kunai were just more metal projectiles to screw you over in the long run.

As the kunai began to come down towards her, Sakura leaped quickly to the left, narrowly avoiding them, but reading them ahead nonetheless. Now it was Ino's turn to try and read what Sakura herself was doing, and she was going to hopefully confuse the Yamanaka girl as much as she could. Coming at the tree with incredible speed, she leaped and literally cascaded her heel towards the trunk, and when her foot collided, the trunk literally split in half then and there. The force from it and the angle, however, sent her coming straight towards Ino with an open fist from below. That fist crashed through the branch of the tree and up towards the Yamanaka girl's face, but that itself was only the distraction.

As if out of nowhere, Sakura grabbed the still-attached part of the split branch and used it as a lever to swing herself up, bringing none other than her own feet up towards her blonde rival. As one foot aimed to collide with the side of the girl's face, the other leg's knee shot towards the girl's ribs, hopefully throwing her off a little bit. Sakura needed to keep the girl on her toes, and with the speed she'd gained as well as the tactic and ability to read a person's moves, Sakura would definitely be able to teach Ino a couple nifty tricks. Although, deep down, Sakura hoped Ino would avoid those... Because getting hit with either of them would cause a lot of damage either to her face or to her side, one or the other.

Cursing under her breath Ino knew that she wouldn't be able to hit her, just hoped it would be able to buy her time to think of some strategies. ino saw Sakura coming, about to dodge, but in a flash she saw two attacks coming to wards her, one to wards the face the other in the ribs. Ino wasn't planning on wrecking her looks so soon into the battle, so she narrowly missed the foot to the face, but bravery took the knee to the ribs.

The impact was powerful, though Ino could feel one of her ribs crack under the pressure she tried to show the pain on her pain. Landing many feet away from Sakura, Ino slowly reached for her side and winced, a rib was defiantly broken, but that wouldn't stop her from winning this fight. Now it was Ino's turn.

Quickly jumping into the air Ino pulled out several throwing stars and aimed them all to wards sakura, using this as a distraction, Before landing she created a clone of herself, while the real ino would attack Sakura from behind the clone would go face on.

Moving quickly through the tree's she moved to wards Sakura and sent a foot to wards the side of her rival's face, she bent the other slightly ready to dodge Sakura's next attack.

Yes! Sakura had managed to catch the girl already, which meant that she had the upper hand. While Sakura hadn't put as much force behind the attack as she could have - as she didn't want to kill poor Ino here, really - it was still a vital hit, and as it connected, Sakura could feel the girl's ribs crack from the impact. Smirking, she landed carefully on the ground, noting that Ino was wincing; she'd have to be careful not to cause too much damage, and to remember to stop the fight if things did end up getting worse.

As Ino brought out the shuriken, Sakura decided she'd match what was being thrown at her; as they came hurtling down towards her from the air, Sakura withdrew her own, throwing them with rather good accuracy and stopping them from causing an impact. Then, there were two Inos standing before her; well, she'd deal with that one as best she could. As the one came towards her, she noted the other one was going into the trees, and while she couldn't tell which one was the real, she had a good way of dealing with both of them. As the one charged head on, Sakura crouched down a little, to hear the other coming from behind; nonetheless, she wasn't quite quick enough to fully avoid the attack, but managed to stop the oncoming kick with her arm, allowing the tip of Ino's foot to barely collide with the side of her face.

Ducking, she shoved the foot out over top of her own head as one foot lashed out towards the clone, turning it into a mere puff of smoke. Her other hand, however, came down on the ground, aiming to send a close-range shockwave to obliterate the smoothness of the ground underneath Ino. It would be hard to avoid something like that so close, and Sakura hoped she'd catch the blonde off guard. She could feel the side of her face bruising a little, but that didn't matter; she could deal with it later. Bruises were absolutely nothing in her world. As the shockwave started, Sakura leaped back, putting a little more distance between them so she could properly think of what to do when Ino decided to come at her next.

Ino grunted as her clone turned to nothing but a mere puff of smoke, it was going to take more to confuse Sakura. Before Ino could jump back away from Sakura she felt the ground shake beneath her, obviously now she hand noticed Sakura's fist collide with the earth before jumping back. Ino cursed as she felt the force on the ground shake knocking her back a few feet, she managed to land upon higher ground safely, though it didn't harm her it did make her knees Little shaky,

"Lucky shot" She smirked while flicking her bangs out her face. Ino focused her charkra into her feet before running up the tree til she reached the highest branch. She took this chance to catch her rival off guard, she made sure she had a good aim on the sakura as it wasn't hard to miss her pink hair in the midst of green trees. Once again Ino conjured up two more clones, sending one to sakura's left the other to her right while Ino would attack from above.


The clones jumped down into Sakura's sight, one ran to wards her with the aim to kick her in the gut the other aimed for the head. Meanwhile Ino jumped down her leg outstretched hoping to hit Sakura dead on.

The naivety! Was Ino absolutely insane or something? Attacking someone like Haruno Sakura head-on wasn't exactly the smartest of ideas, not when she could bust your leg with a single tap. Nonetheless, it meant that Sakura had to be thinking quickly, and she wasn't about to let Ino catch her off guard as quickly as that. Two more clones and coming head-on like a bull in a china cabinet? Not smart, not when you were up against Haruno Sakura. Definitely not smart.

Nonetheless, Sakura merely smirked. "Two can play at that game, Ino!" Sakura crowed as her gloved hands flew into seals. She'd been known for her usage of this technique back at their first crack at the Chuunin exams, where the start of her short-styled hair had unwillingly began in her attempt to save Sasuke and Naruto. As Sakura's body was immediately switched in position with a regular log in the area around them, Ino's attacks hit, her foot crashing into the face of the missing Sakura cleanly, until it disappeared into a clean puff of smoke and turned into a simple log. Well, now it was Sakura's turn to catch Ino off-guard.

From behind she came, her hand reaching back towards her holster while her other drew back for an attack. She hurled three shuriken towards the blonde from a close distance as her other hand shot forward to catch the girl in the shoulder and hopefully cause some real damage. There was chakra behind the strike, of course, and while it wasn't intended to cause the full damage that Sakura could possibly deal - as she hadn't been using that sort of force in order to avoid killing Ino - it was still potent enough to break the girl's arm for sure. If Ino wanted to play those sorts of games with Sakura, then Sakura would gladly play them, but she wasn't stupid. She was still wondering why Ino would dare to engage Sakura in such close-ranged combat; Sakura had already broken her ribs, and she'd seen through the clones once. It seemed that this whole thing was going to be more for Ino's benefit rather than her own...

The sound of the wood breaking beneath her foot made her face crumbled in anger, replacement jutsu! How did i not see that coming? Ino scolded herself, feeling Sakura's presence behind her, reaching into her pouch she pulled out a single kunai. Ino turned her body towards Sakura seeing the shuriken heading towards her she deflected two of them from hitting her with the kunai but the last one managed to cut the edge of her arm, the cut wasnt deep but Ino still winced at its sting.

Ino was too focused of blocking the shuriken that she didnt notice Sakura's fist til the last minute, Ino swiftly turned to the side, avoiding the full impact of the punch though still managing to feel Sakura's knuckles catch the very edge of her shoulder. Jumping further away, she clutched hold of her shoulder, her arm fell limp for a moment.

Her gaze was upon the floor while she began to breath heavier, she was ready to move incase Sakura planned another surprise attack. Her body was filled with sorrow and rage, she was angry at herself for being so rash, she knew that close ranged attacks wouldnt be a good idea when fighting Sakura but it seemed she ignored herself. Ino was trying to prove to herself that she wasnt useless, it seems Sakura had surpassed her in tai-jutsu though she'd never admit it.

Looking up from the floor, Ino stared towards Sakura. " I will not let you beat me..." she muttered quietly, the grip on her shoulder tightened as the pain grew. With that Ino pulled out a handful of shuriken, before throwing them she infused them with her charkra. Jumping onto a higher level she threw her weapons, while watching them hurtle towards Sakura.

As far as Sakura could tell, Ino wasn't going to last much longer like that. With something probably broken in her shoulder as well as some broken ribs, it wouldn't surprise Sakura if they were forced to stop soon. If anything, Sakura would stop this little scuffle herself, because she wasn't going to go as far as to seriously hurt Ino. This was meant to be more of a spar, not a let's-kill-the-other-person battle. Ino was her best friend, and Sakura wasn't going to reduce her to a bed-ridden state.

Nonetheless, it seemed that Ino could continue for a little while longer, that being told by the shuriken that were hurled at Sakura. Immediately she twisted her body this way and that, avoiding the vital hits for the most part, although most of them did barely scratch the surface of her skin. One actually shot past her face and cut through the skin of her cheek like butter, as well as sliced off a small lock of her bangs. Oh, so this was going to get more serious now? Well, Sakura couldn't let Ino have any breathing room like that anymore. She'd given Sakura that sort of close distance already, and Sakura wasn't going to let that slide away so easily.

Within seconds of the shuriken themselves burying down into the ground, Sakura was moving again, faster than possibly before, with a sort of drive and purpose behind her motives. She ran straight towards the tree that Ino was on and literally ran up the bark of the trunk with ease, coming off at an angle towards Ino. She ran a little inwards to become horizontally perpendicular to the branch, then bent her knees and sprung, adding a little chakra to the strength to give her a boost off of the surface. As she did so, her right fist came towards the girl's face as her left knee bent upwards, her left foot ready to lash out at the girl when possible. Hopefully, Sakura could end this quickly without having to hurt Ino too much. If it came down to it, Sakura might actually have to stop everything herself, if the Yamanaka couldn't go on. It wouldn't be a good thing to kill her, now would it?

Ino readied herself for Sakura to come charging towards her, as she predicted, Sakura was Taijutsu most almost every one of her attacks would be close range.Even if Ino seemed to be in a bad state it didnt stop her from noticing the obvious.Once Sakura started her sprint towards ino, she slyly snuck her hand into the small pouch behind her back, pulling out her last Kunai, she had no intention in throwing it.

Sakura was fast, she would admit that, waiting for the right moment just before her fist collided with Ino's face she moved swiftly to the side, using the kunai to block the attack from following her. Ino hoped would be lucky enough to have Sakura not break her last one.

Ino jumped, narrowly missing the kick, holding upon the thick branch above her she swung back and kicked forward, one foot heading towards the side of Sakura's face the other her gut, It was almost to quick to dodge but in this situation she had to be ready for anything.

So Ino was beginning to catch on, was she? Well, Sakura would have to change up the strategy a little, now wouldn't she? Ino knew that Sakura was a Taijutsu fighter, but Sakura had other things in her arsenal, didn't she? Well, maybe not much for jutsu really, but Sakura had weapons... But then again, Ino had ninjutsu that outmatched Sakura's. Nonetheless, her mind-body switch technique was useless against Sakura; for some reason, it just didn't seem to work.

As Sakura came in with her attacks, Ino already knew what was coming; she was catching on, just like Sakura had expected. The kunai kept her from bringing out her leg to get to Ino, but Ino seemed to be working a little quicker in the mind department. Now the blonde was hanging by the branch above her, and swung her legs straight towards Sakura. Well, Sakura could deal with that rather easily, but the speed it came at threw her off a little. She knew a hit to the face would be more detrimental than the gut, and set her moves properly. Disregarding the hit to the gut and taking it like a real shinobi would, she brought up her arm to block the oncoming foot to the face, leaning to the side just slightly and blocking it with her forearm. However, she did more than just block it; she gathered up chakra into the area that was going to hit and, when it connected, released it as if she were attacking.

Within seconds of that, however, Ino's foot slammed into Sakura's gut, luckily nowhere near her ribs, and sent the girl winded and flying off of the branch. Catching herself, Sakura smirked. She still had that in her arsenal, but she hadn't used it since the Snow Country mission... Nonetheless, it might prove useful in this situation. Reaching back with both hands, she protruded a number of small kunai that had little pouches filled, and began to hurl them in a quick manner around Ino. Upon impact with the trees, the pouches exploded, releasing small explosive notes everywhere. For the finale, Sakura hurled a single kunai with a large explosive note on it that was already beginning to detonate...

The moment it detonated, the area was rocked with a large explosion from all of the combined notes surrounding the blonde.
