Appearance:
Kaori is a petite girl who looks a little scrawny for her age. She is pretty pale which is ironic due to her place of residence at Suna where the sun is almost out a good majority of the day. Her light blue eyes seem to sparkle and are always bright with knowledge she has retained over the years. Her blond hair is long and frames her face in layers and curls.
She stands about 5'4 being one of the shortest in her group. Kaori tends to need help reaching this due to this, whenever someone has to help her, she's around someone she likes or gets upset, her cheeks turn quite red due to such emotions. Kaori is seen as a well brought up girl in society, she takes pride in her appearance .
She hardly wears any make up due to the intense heat that would just wash it right off her face but her sand village band stands on top of her head letting her bangs out but it remains tilted on the left side. She is always seen in a nice white blouse and skirt, her sandals added to the outfit.
Personality:
Kaori is mainly shy around people. She tends to keep to herself and study hard to become a great medical ninja. With her friends she is constantly smiling and laughing, though she tends to be quite hyper at times. When at school she is serious and willful towards her studies. Kaori is extremely dense when it comes to guys liking her or showing any sign of affection. She is also equally shy towards the one she likes and tends to constantly keep her eyes on the ground if she ever has no choice but to talk to him.
Whenever Kaori is thinking she tends to sit down and sing to herself, she doesn't do it in front of anyone due to her shyness but she sings in order to clear her mind and assess the best way to operate on a shinobi, however if the situation calls for immediate attention she will hum to herself due to being around others.
Willing to do whatever it takes, she is very strong and at times defiant for her friends and anyone she cares about, however she only shows it when things seems darkest. Seemingly a know-it-all, Kaori holds a lot of information due to her studying and tends to spout it off with ease whenever in trouble. When it comes to putting it to practice she gets rather timid but knows she has to do it in order to succeed. She hates fighting and death with a passion but if it means protecting her country and friends she'll draw the kunai.
History:
Kaori grew up as the eldest daughter of Rito and Shizuma Hitomi in Suna. She was a relatively shy child and seemed to be absorbed in books all day long, reading about medical ninjas from Suna's past. Naturally growing up in Suna she had heard of the Sabaku family; Gaara was no exception. Her parents merely warned her to stay away from the whole family so she only would catch glimpes of him but she never understood was was so scary about the 'monster.' She was there that day when the ball was kicked over to him, Kaori was reading by a near by tree when the event happened and it was then she understood why her family was afraid of the child, but not just her family the entire village.
Kaori watched as the boy merely stuck out his hand and the young girl in her class was caught and drug towards him. Fear flooded her eyes as she wanted to scream but it was fear that held her back as a man jumped in front of the sand and was injured. He seemed to calm Gaara down and they left, leaving behind the children and herself. Kaori was no longer sure how she felt anymore about the child. She knew, however that she was no longer scared of him but more so intrigued by the red-headed boy.
Now she would stay her distance but fight to continue watching him grow. Years flew by and now they were in the academy together, however he was no longer the shy, fearful boy anymore, but a cold hearted killer. Kaori truely was worried but she never spoke, instead watched as she always did, he didn't know her, she didn't know him, all she knew was, she felt like she had to care for the boy. When the Chuunin Exams came up she was more fearful than ever that something would make the boy snap out of control. Kaori would put all her medical knowledge to use and do her best to protect those in her village and her friends.
However she was forced to stay home by her parents who still didn't want her anywhere near Suna's greatest weapon. After everything was said and down, Kaori felt she was to blame for remaining in Suna, she could have helped and protected them. But Since Gaara's return Kaori noticed a difference in the boy, he seemed to carry himself better, almost with confidence as he continued to try and get along with the villagers. Kaori remained distant naturally but observed none-the-less.
During the next few years she passed the Chuunin exams with flying colors and went on to study medical jutsus and more. She took on several missions and continued to improve but now she is growing up and her feelings are more and more pronounced than before. Determined to have him see her in a new light, Kaori is willing to do whatever it takes but she knows what she's up against and isn't quite sure what to do just yet.

a special Ninjutsu technique used by medical ninjas. After forming the needed handseals, the ninja will focus chakra to their hands. When their charged hands reach the body of their target, they can extend the chakra internally into the targets body to cut and neatly slice their muscles and blood veseels without harming the surface skin. This technique can be used in battle, but because of its hectic nature, the fine precision required for an instant kill is not feasible. Damage can still be done to the vital organs, but the technique should be used carefully in battle.
Mystical Hand Technique [Shousen Jutsu]
a Ninjutsu technique utilized by medical ninja. This technique allows the ninja to heal wounds by focusing their own chakra to their hands. If the ninja is highly skilled, they are able to heal more critical injuries. Highly skilled medical-Nins such as Tsunade can use their techniques to perform surgeries that otherwise would not be possible.
Chakra Threads - [Chakra Kyuuin Jutsu]
a special Ninjutsu techinque used by the Leaf ninja Yoroi. After activitating the technique, Yoroi's hand will glow with chakra. When he touches his palm on his opponents body, he can withdraw the physical and spiritual energy out of them. By reducing their chakra, it greatly increases his advantage over his opponent.

She pulled her hair back in a pony tail, this was always how it started. She'd shower, dry her hair, and tie it back, then she'd place her headband on and let loose her hair so that her bangs would fall forward and be crushed by the metal and cloth. Rubbing her eyes she sighed and grabbed her books. She remembered and important announcement taking place for a select few genin and Kaori wanted to know what was going on. Brushing her teeth, and grabbing a muffin, she hugged her sister Riza goodbye and went on her way.
"I wonder what's going on? Sounds kind of weird to me." spoke the girl as she bit into her breakfast and raced towards the Academy. Her blonde hair flowing as she headed to the gates, she felt the air change and a coldness come and sink into her bones, she only felt this way around one person, Sabaku No Gaara.
Frowning she looked around and couldn't see him, she figured it was her imagination still Kaori wondered what her fascination was with the guy. He was so stand offish and isolated, it was almost like he was a different species of his own. Sighing she shrugged and wandered to the classroom, unpacking her stuff she was curious as to where the Sabaku family was, they were never late as far as she knew still she ignored the tight feeling in her stomach and opened her book and began to write notes.
"Something weird is happening, I just know it." she whispered biting her lip nervously.
