Hidan
Type: Canon
Age: 22
Sexuality: Bisexual
Status: Single
Interest: None... at the moment
Appearance:
Hidan had gelled-back silver hair and radiant violet eyes, both traits greatly distinguishing him from the other characters. His skin tone is usually portrayed as a darker hue, though compared to the shinobi that he is seen fighting, his skin is actually has a peachy tint against the brown-ish tint of his enemies. His hitatiate is wrapped securely around his neck, and under that is the Jashinist circle that is the symbol of his unholy religion. He is never seen wearing a shirt, though he does conform to the Akatsuki by wearing the other parts of the uniform.
The uniform conists of a black cloak with white-trimmed red clouds and, as stated before, Hidan does not wear the blue/black shirt accented by mesh. The standard pants are made of a similar blue material and end at the ankles, but are covered with a white cloth that extends down and ties into the soles of the member's shinobi shoes. Hidan's ring reads "san (three)," and the stone is a soft violet color. He wears this ring on his left middle finger. Another part of the Akatsuki uniform is an odd, but unique piece: fingernail polish. Hidan seems prefers black for his nails.
During his rituals and after he has ingested the blood of his victim, Hidan's skin turns a pure black with white bone-like markings across his body where the bones themselves are, giving him the appearance of a walking skeleton.
Personality:
.Religious;
Hidan is completely consumed in the Jashin cult which he was a part of before joining the Akatsuki. Everything he does is in the name of the deity rather than his current organization, and the only technique he seems to use is the ritual to sacrifice to the god of death. He always follows the commandments which require him to pray for a good kill, after each slaughter, thanking Jashin for a smooth kill, and if he is not able to eliminate the target, then he must pray for forgiveness.
.Disrespectful;
Hidan is shown to be completely and blatantly impolite towards others. He rarely uses honorifics, and if so, he only uses them as a form of sarcasm, usually by adding “-chan.” In addition to this, Hidan openly threatens to kill Pein. The only person (if he can be considered one) that Hidan respects is his god, Jashin; however, he doesn’t hesitate to use the name in vain.
.Bloodthirsty;
Hidan has absolutely no restraint on his slaughtering of opponents unless, of course, he feels the slight ping of a conscience when Kakuzu would use the body as a bounty. He ruthlessly murders whomever gets in the way, though it may take quite a long while to complete this task with his ceremonies at the beginning and end.
.Caring;
Although he doesn't show it much, Hidan does have a miniscule cell of lovingness within him. If he is forced to attack a comrade, his tough-guy act will quickly vanish, and haste and worry become apparent in his voice. He is able to make connections with others dispite his otherwise snappy attitude towards anyone that comes in contact with him. He claims that those who can't feel the pain of others deserves to go to hell, so he doesn't usually attempt a kill without first beginning his ritual.
.Border-Line Insane;
During his transformation, Hidan's sanity seems to snap in two and is replaced with a pain-craving lunatic that loves to watch his opponents share the bloodshed that he causes to himself. He has no prejudice against anyone becoming his next victim once he has begun the jutsu, slaughtering anyone and everyone in his way and claiming that it is "divine retribution" from the diety Jashin-sama.
History:
Hidan was born into a tiny clan in the Steam Village where both his mother and father were shinobi and loyal to the village leader. There was no kage because the village was a small, relatively unknown one; however, the leader had the full respect of every single member of his village. When Hidan was born, the leader took a great liking to him and discussed with the parents about the future of the silver-haired child. With being a shinobi like the rest of his family in mind, the parents were surprised when the leader offered the child expert training under his wing so that he could become the next leader of the village. The parents were overjoyed by this news and eagerly accepted the offer.
As a child, Hidan was a quiet boy who did everything he was told. He helped clean up the house with his mother, he helped polish his father’s favorite katana, and he learned from the village leader the assets of a perfect kill. The latter was the most important lesson that the leader taught him, and it was what would change his life from that moment on.
The leader taught Hidan the essentials to fighting: Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and the like. Hidan found a disliking for all of the basic techniques, but when it came to weapons, he was a growing prodigy. The young student focused on his training and soon was able to hit a target dead-on with a shuriken from over a mile away, and it had the force to continue through the wood of the dummy and smash into buildings behind it. The leader, impressed by his student’s power, helped his parents enroll him into the local Academy for extra practice and to expand his knowledge; however, Hidan wasn’t interested in learning anything except the art of the hunt.
Hidan was at the bottom of his class with his low scores and attitude problem. When the teachers called on him, he was nearly always asleep or spaced out from boredom. He didn’t care about the lessons and failed the tests on purpose, and he refused to learn any of the jutsu. When graduation rolled around, the teachers were extremely disappointed in Hidan when he didn’t even attempt to pass. When they called for him to go down and present his work he merely shouted from his seat, “What do I need that for? All I need are my weapons!”
At the end of the day, Hidan was the only student who didn’t pass the exam. The other students went to their parents and bragged about their accomplishment while Hidan went back to the school training grounds to rip the heads off of the wooden and straw dummies with his kunai and shuriken tricks. His mother, father, and the leader of the village all watched him practicing by his lonesome in the rocky field. Finally, the leader conversed with the teachers, and after convincing them of Hidan’s prowess, they surprised the child by presenting his with a Yu hitaiate. And Hidan wore it proudly.
Now he was a shinobi. Now he could fulfill the dream that the leader had planted into his brain. And now was when the corruption became worse.
Many of the elders of the village begged for the leader to reconsider his decision about Hidan, but no matter what they said, the leader wouldn’t budge. He argued that Hidan was merely in a rebellious stage, but he would come down from the high soon. The villagers presented the student in the top of the graduated class to the leader, and after a conference decided to take him in as an apprentice with Hidan as his elder “brother.” Hidan was furious when the leader told him about this, and he refused to train beside someone like the other boy.
The top student proved to be a much harder worker than Hidan, and Hidan’s hatred for his comrade grew each time the leader praised him and scolded the ex-prodigy. The village warmed up to the idea of the new student becoming the leader of the village and whenever Hidan passed by, he could hear them whisper about his growing failure. He now stood in the shadow of his ally, and his hatred grew even more.
Finally, during the Chuunin Exams, he snapped. Pitted against all of his former classmates including his younger “brother,” Hidan pulled his arsenal of weapons from their pouches and pounced. It was a free-for-all battle to the death, and the winner was ultimately Hidan. The fury he felt towards everyone in his village blinded him, and before he could even stop to think about what he had done, all of the other genin were dead on the field, and his “brother” was standing in front of him with a kunai embedded in his throat. The younger fell to the ground, and Hidan was declared the victor. He expected the crowd to burst into applause, but instead, the parents of the deceased mourned for their lost sons and daughters, and the other villagers stared with disdain in their eyes. Was this monster supposed to become the leader of the new village?
Hidan gained the rank of Chuunin because of his skills, but when time came for him to begin training the little Genin, not one of his former teachers would allow Hidan to become their mentor. Without hesitation, the children were shielded from Hidan’s “distasteful” way of battling, and he felt that he was not good enough.
When Hidan was readying himself for a group mission later that day, the leader called him into his office and told Hidan that he was going to hold off on passing on his power to the young trainee. Hidan was in utter shock. When he questioned his mentor’s reasons, the elder was at a loss for an explanation. Stuttering, he told Hidan that he didn’t believe that his only student would be able to take on the role at such an early age, but Hidan did not believe him for a second. Hidan announced that he was not going to be joining the group for the mission and left, slamming the door behind himself, after the mission had been called off.
The following afternoon, the leader called a village meeting. He announced that he had been getting in touch with other nations and breaking ties with allies. Thinking that they were going to go to war, Hidan became excited about the meeting, but as soon as the truth came out, he felt like he was going to shatter into pieces. The village was disbanding.
From then on, the Village Hidden in the Steam would become a tourist attraction because of the hot springs it contained. This way, it would earn money while staying out of wars; it was also beneficial because of their low finances. The villagers were in shock, but when the leader locked eyes with Hidan, Hidan could only stare in disbelief. What had happened? Why was the village… his village… really disbanding?
Shinobi turned in their headbands or kept them on display, but the only one who continued to wear it proudly was Hidan. He refused to believe that the village would become a… a tourist attraction. It was humiliating. His village was going to be filled with people who didn’t know the true values that the ex-shinobi stood for. They wouldn’t know anything about it except that it had hot springs.
After the meeting was over, Hidan still stood in the same place as he had while the meeting was being held. Sadly, the now former leader of the former village walked over to the former trainee. He attempted to console his ex-student, but Hidan would not budge or say anything. The man realized how harsh the blow to Hidan was, but he told the other that he needed to take action to disband the village. No matter what he said to the ex-shinobi, Hidan would not respond to him. After he left, Hidan continued to stand in that one place until a plot had been formed in his corrupt mind.
That night, Hidan sneaked into the house of the former leader and found that he was sleeping peacefully. Hidan shook him awake, and as soon as the man recognized his face, Hidan muttered, “You made a mistake, you bastard.” Confused, the man began to sit up, but as soon as he lifted his head from the pillow, Hidan pulled out a large kunai and slit his former master’s throat, then stabbed him repeatedly until he did not move. After he was sure that the man was dead, he dragged the body from the house and kicked him into the streets where he believed the man belonged.
On his adrenaline high, Hidan rushed into the houses of his neighbors and comrades and murdered them brutally, tossing their corpses into a pile outside in the village square, and as soon as the majority of the citizens had been slaughtered, he threw the leader’s body on the top and left a note jammed in his body with a kunai. The note simply read, “A gift from your should-be leader.”
Hidan gathered his belongings and ran from the village, and as soon as he was a good distance away, slashed a mark through his ex-village’s symbol carved into the hitaiate. He wandered for weeks until he stumbled upon grass shinobi that welcomed him with open arms. When they saw his prowess in battle, they told him about a cult that worshipped the deity Jashin, the harbinger of death. Hidan believed that it was a joke, but when they invited him to one of the masses, he couldn’t deny his new and only friends. At the mass, he found a liking to the god and decided to become one of his followers. He received a silver necklace with an upside-down triangle in a circle on a chain, and it wore it as proudly as he did his hitaiate. When the cult began experiments, he was always the first to butt in and become the test subject, and because of this, he believed that his god smiled upon him. Slowly but surely, he began learning the rituals of Jashinism and after running so many tests and praying to his god, he began the sacrifices. He was the only one that seemed to have the guts to kill as many innocent people as he did in the short time frame, and he was rewarded by his god with immortality. He was the only member of the cult to gain this power, and the other Jashinists began to hold him in high regard.
It was at this time that the Akatsuki learned of Hidan’s power. They sent over Kakuzu, Sasori, and Deidara to bring Hidan back to the organization, and after conversing with them and learning that he could spread the word of Jashin by joining the Akatsuki, he willingly tagged along to preach his religion to the shinobi world.

Known Jutsu:
~Jashin Ritual and Curse ::
Although this isn't a hand seal-requiring jutsu, it is still extremely powerful, and Hidan is the only Jashinist known to have mastered the technique, meaning that it is unique to only him. After ingesting his opponent's blood, it fuses the souls of both the user and the other together, and any pain inflicted on the user is inflicted on the opponent; however, in order for this to work, the user must first use his own blood to draw the Jashin symbol on the ground large enough so that his body can fit inside of it, and for the damage to be dealt, the user must stay inside the circle. During this ritual, the user's skin changes black with white skeletal markings.

How'd you find me?! Affiliation on Red Clouds
Sample RP:
“You piece of sh*t…”
Every muscle in my body cried to stray away from the bloody circle under my feet. My mind was the only thing keeping myself from giving my body over to that damned shadow kid who had caught me in his Shadow Possession Jutsu or whatever the hell he called it.
”You talk too much.”
It was that same tired voice that was nagging at the back of my head and driving me insane from the constant analysis of my perfected jutsu. It was all I needed to take down my enemies… well, all of them until now. The phrase echoed within my skull, complementing Kakuzu’s whining about my constant talking. How… how was this kid doing this to me? I was Hidan. I was a Jashinist!
“You little b*tch!” I shouted, managing to partially break free from that annoying jutsu. “After I’m free, I’m gonna slash, bash, and smash your ass!”
”There won’t be an after for you!”
No after for me? In the scriptures, it always promised that every deed done in the name of Jashin would be glorified, and this little cocksucker was telling me that there was no “after”? The atheist prick!
When my body began to move on its own again, I grunted in surprise and attempted to keep myself within the ceremonial circle, but I knew that it was no use. He had complete control over me… however, I knew that his chakra was running low, which meant that I had a chance to escape soon, no matter what threats he hurled at me.
”He’s out!
sh*t!
”Right! Let’s see if the curse has been lifted! The fire-spitter drew out a shuriken, and before I could even see it flying towards me, I felt the stinging pain in my ear. He… had cut it on purpose?
Instantly, I felt the grip on my muscles loosen only to have the threads of shadow rise and pierce my limbs, sending waves of pain through my body. “Wha--?” I turned my head to see that I had been secured by the shadows like some sort of sap that couldn’t hold itself up. What were they planning to do to me? I attempted to move myself, hoping that the technique was weaker than the other, but to no avail. “Damn you… I‘m trapped!”
Then he smirked. That cocky bastard smirked at me! Even though his breathing was ragged and his body was torn, he still had the courage to get under my skin!?
”I’m wiped out,” he willingly announced. My smirk didn’t even try to return at this; I was still trying to think of a premature way to escape the jutsu. ”I don’t think I can hold him much longer.”
”Good work, Shikamaru.” The smoke bastard managed to lift himself up and began to hobble towards me, igniting the blade in his hand with his chakra.
I tried to wiggle my way free, but once again, the threads held strong. “Kakuzu, help me!” I commanded, not expecting him to act as quickly as I needed him to. The should-be sacrifice was about to hit me at point-blank range. I needed him now! “Now! Hurry the f*ck up!”
Kakuzu - the ungrateful motherf*cker - was still standing around, just waiting for my “death.” What the f*ck was wrong with him! The sick ingrate!
”I told you not to underestimate them,” he voice muttered as a horrendous agony ripped through my throat.
