Today was the day , all week or so was the festival. Ino had suggested he should go to. He clamied that it was not his thing. She told him to ask Temari , he thought what hell.

It was about three in the evening in the leaf village. When Shika arrived in the hidden leaf forest. Wondering if he would randomly run into Temari here. When she was on her way to the leaf village. That way he would not have to go looking for her. And have to go all the way to the sand village. To find out that she had already left for his home.

That would be a real drag and a half. So , he wasnt about to waste some time doing. When he he could take the easy way out. Were he could said here and wait. And then go home if she never showed up. it was no big deal to him anyone. It wasnt like he had a big speech planned or something.[/size]

It had been a long couple of days travel to the Leaf for Temari. The unsuspected Sand storm delayed her leave from Suna for a few hours, during that time she spent some well deserve time with both of her brothers. She knew she couldn't spend has a lot of time with them because she knew the festival was going on in the Leaf, and she half hoped that Shikamaru would asked her out to it. She was too stubborn to ask him herself. That was just something she wanted to hear it come from him, after these pass few hours they started to have a love hate relationship and it seemed to be working for the most part.

She had her headband around her neck at this point of time, she would fix it when she got closer to the Leaf. She had a file for the Chuunin exam in her hand, something she knew her and Shikamaru needed to go over, but that could wait for some time before it actually got done. There was no rush in her to get it done, because the work was not even half over for the exam, and she didn't want to deal with the headache of it at the moment either.

She looked up to see someone standing in the distance. Just by the clothing she knew all to well who it was that was walking towards here. She was kinda surprise that he was not laying under a tree at the moment watching the clouds. A smirked danced across her face at the moment ”Well, what do I owe the pleasure of not finding you under a tree day dreaming about clouds?” She couldn't help but tease him like this. It was funny in her eyes and she was not going to just back down just because he didn't like it.

Shika made a face at the space before him. As the side of him that did not want her to show up. Let out go a tired sigh of boredom.While other side also let go a sigh. Relived that he would not have to go and look for her. The brunette blinked slightly in silence. Before stuffing both of his hands into the pockets of his pants.

And made made his way over to the blond sand ninja. That he worked on the chunnin exams with. He had found her with no effort on his part. So , that was a good thing in his mind anyway. Now that step one was done on the list. It was on the to magic step number two. The asking about that festival thing that was going on. He mights well do it now before he forgot. "...... It will probably be a real drag. But , do you want to go to the festival with me." He groaned out in his usual tired way.[/size]

Temari watched him with a smirk on her face make his way towards here. She was not sure what he was doing out here just yet, but from the looks of it he was out to meet her. That was good tho that meant that she didn't have to catch him under a tree on his back once more. Today was turning out for the better, she was kinda glad now that she got held up during the sand storm.

She stopped in her tracks when they was standing right beside each other. She was kinda annoyed that he didn't even try to make a come back for her previous statement. She was about to say something to that effect but he beat her to speaking and asked her out to the festival. Her lips that was still in the smirk only grew at the moment. ”Wow, I never though I would hear you say those words in one sentence. Festival, You, go, out.” She smacked him in the arm slightly with the folder she was holding. ”But it wont be a drag. Yes, I will go with you Shikamaru.” She held back the blush that came onto her pale face rather well.

Shika said nothing for a couple short seconds.To the blond girl that was standing in front of him.He thought of the festival to him self for a moment. Wondering if she would let him brake for naps. Once a while when they were there. Because if you think about it would not be a loss on her part. She would get something out of the bargain as well.

She couple always join him in the naps.But knowing her that would be a no. What a drag he thought to himself in annoyance. "......So , what time should we leave to go?" he asked calmly , as reached him to itch is neck for a second. He probably should have found out the times before hand. But , he was too lazy to go look for the flyers. Flyer hunting sound like more of a drag than people hunting.[/size]

Temari watched him scratch his neck, she knew there was only a few times he did that that was if he had a itch or even he thinking about something. She watched him with a sigh, she just didn't know how he could still be this lazy after these last couple of years. She had to be doing something or she would go crazy. She pushed some of her blonde hair away from her face slightly.

She blinked slightly when he asked what time they should go to the festival. A small smirk on her face form. She knew at this time she could place him in a awkward position and she knew she would too. She normally didn't care or even bother with him anymore, but today was just his unlucky day. "What time do you think we should go?" She thought that he might at lease know the time at the festival. It was in his village after all.

Shika made a face at the blonds question to him. Aw man what drag how am i suppose to know the time. I ve been on mission for the last week. I don't pay attention , what a drag. He thought to himself with a sigh.He looked down at the ground for a second. And looked back, trying to think of a logical answer. Maybe I could guess a time , but she'll never. Wait maybe she's too smart for that.

What drag i hope this works he thought casually. " um. six and seven maybe" he guessed tiredly. With the first numbers that popped into his head. Hoping she be by it , and be like ok shikamaru. And not be playing some sort of game with him. Were she already new they time. And just what to test him to see if he was playing attention. Instead of sleeping in his secret spot or something.[/size]

Temari watched him, she knew she had placed him in a hard spot at the moment. She didn't know the time of the festival either but it was always funny to see his reaction that she loved placing him in a tight spot like this. It allowed her to know exactly what he was able to do and how he manages to get out of trouble in a situation like this. She looked up to the clouds until she heard his answer. ”Alright, that is fine with me. You know where my apartment is.” Having an apartment here in the Leaf saved her the money of renting a hotel room reach time she was here.

She slowly moved over to the side of the road and sat down on the grass leaning up against the tree. ”Get over here you lazy bum” She knew him all to well over the past few years. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Her black eyes traveled back up to watch some of the clouds.

Shika started into space for little bit longer. Before looking to his blond friend or whatever she was to him. As she sat on the grassy ground near him. He studied her for moment as many thoughts rushed threw his busy mind about. The first thing that came to his mind was the ball. That he was going on in the leaf village right now.

He had asked her to go with this said dance with. Did this mean they were going out on a date for the first time. Or was this just two friends going to a ball together as friends. He never asked her for a clearing up. So right now in his head it was looking like a date to him. He figured he should probably ask her just in case.

So he casully sat down the green grass next her. He sat Indain styl and rested his hands in his lap. Before turnig his head took at her again. " So um what are we calling this little trip to the dance?" he asked casully to her with a serious look on his face. Wondering what he would do if she said that it was a date.

He probably would have to by her a gift if was. That would mean asking dad to spot him a little. Aw man what a drag then he he would ask why I needed it. Aw man. He thought triedly in his thoughts to himself. Hoping that maybe his dad would not ask this time like he usasully would.

Temari watched Shikamaru come and sit down next to her, things was changing between them, that much was clear. She knew that she liked him for the most part because he had that laid back attitude that she wanted to knock out of him, and nothing on her parted seemed to get to him anymore. It annoyed her that he was not shaping into something that she wanted but at the same time it made her like him even more, most guys would break, Shikamaru was different that much was clear to her. She wanted to make sure to break him one day.

She pulled her fan off her back and sat it down on the other side of her. She leaned her head back against the tree. It had been a long day since, traveling here was one of the things that she did alone. She knew how to handle herself, she was not the Fan princess of Sunagakura for no reason. She closed her eyes and remembered when she used only three moves during the Chuunin exam to beat the hell out of Tenten, she knew that should should at lease say sorry for nearly breaking her back.

What Shikamaru said next brought her out of little daydream has he question what this was, a date or just two friends that was going to the ball together. She looked over to him, it was clear that he was thinking about something. His eyebrows all ways squinted downwards when he was actually thinking about something other than just allowing his thoughts to carry away in his head. She smirked slightly to herself, she could just tease him a bit, that was always fun to her.

She looked up to the clouds for a moment, seeing nothing that really got her interest for the most part. She was thinking exactly what to do and say to Shikamaru. She allowed her right hand, the one that was on his side, to come up and rest on his left arm. Her index finger and middle finger slightly tugged at his black sleeve shirt he wore. "Its whatever you want it to be Shikamaru." She was not sure how he was going to take to being touched by her but still it was going to be funny to see his reaction.

Before noticing that something had started to touch his arm out of no where.What the heck he wondered before looking down toward his arm.

He started at the source that was Temari's hand. "Ok now this girl is really trying to screw with me." Shika told him self in his thought before closing his eyes a second. "She must want it to be a date, otherwise why would she do such a thing. She must like me. But I ve got to admit she is not bad to look at. So maybe we could call it a date and see were it goes. Aw man I hope calling it a date will not turn it into a real drag." The brunette debating with him self his thoughts. Before opening his eyes once more and looked to the blond again.

"How am i going to about saying this to her. They only way I can think sounds kind of rude. I guess I will try it out". " It seems thats what you want, I am ok with it if you are." He finally said calmly to her with a straight face. Waiting for her response to his comment. While he hoped his mind was wrong about the comment sounding rude. Because he most certainly did not feel like be hot by a girl.

That would be a total drag if that ended happening to him.[/size]

Temari frown slightly when she didn't really get a response from him, or the one that she wanted at least. He was the one that asked her out to his ball thing and here he was telling her that it what was whatever that she wanted it to be call. This was not right in the long run. Her lip twitched slightly has she pulled her hand back away from him and pulled slightly on her glove. She was not sure exactly what was going on Shikamaru's head but it was not what she thought it was, that much was dead clear. She hated of all things to be ignored by her actions and words. She didn't even know exactly how to get through to him either, he was worse than her brothers and that was saying something.

She looked up to the clouds, taking in a rather deep breath to try and calm herself down slightly. It worked for the most part has she closed her eyes and leaned back against the tree some more. She listened to the birds that was around them crimping slightly, they didn't have birds like this in Sunagakure and it was slighlty nice hearing nature once in a while instead of the blowing of sand all over the place.

Suddenly an idea hit her and she was going to roll with it. She did love teasing him and making him sweat anyways. She opened her eyes grabbed her fan and stood up. She looked down at him with a small disgusted look on her face. "Sorry Shikamaru, but I am not going to sit here and play your little kiddy game that you seem to have going on inside your head. Why don't you use that brain of yours and realize something before it slips out of your fingers huh? Come find me when you do." She placed her fan back on her back in its resting position. She was completely done playing his little game at the moment and if he wanted her attend this little ball with him than he would have to grow up a bit. If not she would slam the door on his face.

She stretched her arms above her head for a moment, and started to walk back to the road. She was not expecting anything from him for now. She knew that he would either sit under that tree for hours to think or come chasing after her telling her how much trouble she was being and that girls shouldn't cause this problem. But she was done dealing with it all and if he thought she was joking that he was wrong in the first place. True she might had a crush on him for the longest time but it came a point when she would have to give up and move on right?
