Kisame has a distinctive shark appearance, complete with pale blue skin, small white eyes, gill-like facial structures, and sharp triangular teeth. Even his name, Kisame, means "demon shark". His shark-like qualities carry over to the type of techniques he uses in battle, as he often shapes bodies of water into the forms of sharks that proceed to attack opponents.Kisame is also noted to have a particularly large amounts of chakra in his reserves; even when he fights at 30% power in one instance his chakra supply is compared to that of a enhanced Naruto Uzumaki using the chakra of the Kyubi.
Personality:
Kisame is rather battle-loving, enjoying to fight with others. However, Kisame is usually forced to leave a fight, being paired with Itachi (who only fights when necessary). When this happens, he has been known to inform his opponent(s) that they "don't know how lucky they are." Like other characters who have trained to be one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Kisame enjoys mutilating his opponents, as seen when he suggests cutting off Naruto Uzumaki's legs to make him easier to carry.
Kisame is one of the few members of Akatsuki that got along well with his partner. Kisame is very loyal to Itachi, willing to take any commands he is given without question and constantly looks out for his well-being. Although Kisame does have his pride, he acknowledges Itachi as the stronger of the duo. Madara has noted that out of all of Akatsuki, Kisame was the closest to Itachi, implying that they were indeed good friends.
History:
A highly dangerous S-Ranked criminal, Kisame was an elite Jounin in Hidden Mist Village until he began to assassinate the local Mist feudal lords. Fleeing his village, Kisame then joined the Akatsuki Organization. Kisame was ordered by the leader of Akatsuki to partner with Uchiha Itachi and obtain the Kyuubi demon from within Naruto. The two S-Ranked criminals went to Leaf Village in search of Naruto. Sarutobi Asuma and Yuuhi Kurenai confronted the two, so the ninja began to battle. Kisame used his head-cleaver against Asuma and managed to surprise the Leaf Jounin with its shark skin scales. Kisame drew blood but Asuma was able to recover himself. When Maito Gai appeared, Itachi and Kisame fled.
Later Kisame and Itachi tracked Naruto down to a hotel outside of Leaf Village. They were about to capture Naruto when Sasuke and Jiraiya appeared. Seeing that it was not the right moment, the two Akatsuki members fled. Over the next few years, Kisame and Akatsuki would wait patiently to capture more demon vessels like Naruto.

Weapons: Samehada: a large unique sword of comparable size to Zabuza Momochi's Decapitating Carving Knife. Unlike a regular sword, Samehada is covered in large scales that shave instead of cut, much like a shark's skin (hence the name). It also has the ability to absorb any chakra around it, allowing Kisame to literally cut through his opponent's chakra. The amount that it can absorb is unclear, but it can even consume the demon fox's chakra with no ill effects. Samehada is also a sentient weapon and only allows Kisame to wield it. In the words of Kisame, "It acknowledges only me." When Might Guy attempted to hold Samehada and use it against Kisame, it responded with a flurry of spikes protruding from its handle and found its way back to Kisame. This weapon is also highly sought after by Team Hawk member Suigetsu Hozuki, and is stated to be the sole reason Suigetsu joined Sasuke in his hunt for Itachi Uchiha. Suigetsu believes that he will be able to wield Samehada if he kills Kisame, but it is unknown if this is actually true.
Known Jutsu:
Earth Release: Underground Submarine Voyage: Kisame can sink about underground and quickly travel through the earth. By extending his long sword Samehada above the ground, he gives off the appearance of a shark traveling under the earth.
Water Release: Underwater Motion Technique: This technique allows the user to propel themselves through a body of water by using their chakra. While underwater, this technique will also partially mask their presence.
Water Clone Technique: The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones out of water. Like the other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to preform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal water.
Water Prison Technique: This jutsu is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. Clones can be used in place of the actual person, provided that the clone is the one that performed the technique. This jutsu can't be performed without a sufficiently large body of water to supply the water for it. Neji Hyuga has been able to use his ability to release chakra from all of his pressure points to disrupt the flow of chakra inside the prison and break free. Despite the fact that the prison is made up entirely out of water, and the target is unable to move while within it, the target is still able to speak. However, the one imprisoned still has to maintain the ability to breathe.
Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave: After spitting out a great volume of water from his mouth, the enemy is swallowed up by this advancing surge and crushed. The user can ride the wave, allowing them to move at high speed, and attack the enemy, now swept off their feet, without fear of counter-attacks. When used with Kisame's enormous chakra, even dry wastelands will turn into an ocean.
Water Release: Five Feeding Sharks: Water Release: Five Eating Sharks is a technique that Kisame summoned to try and kill Might Guy while Team Guy was trapped in the Water Prison Technique. Kisame can use this technique only after using Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave. He puts his hand on the surface of a body of water and a water shark comes out of each finger to attack the opponent. They all come in consecutive attacks, starting with one, two, three, four and finally all five start to come into contact. However, because they are made with water, if they are completely separated from it they will degenerate back into normal water.
Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique: Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique is a technique that forms a strong column of water to attack an opponent. Due to the force of the water, the target will be fully enveloped and at the mercy of the current as they are pulled away. Kakashi Hatake hypnotized Zabuza Momochi to use this jutsu so that he could copy it with his Sharingan in their first fight.
Water Release: Water Shark Missile Technique: Water Release: Water Shark Missile Technique is a jutsu that forces water to attack the opponent in the form of a shark.
