Hyuuga Neji has long, dark brown hair that is more likely than not tied near the end, leaving a small rattail-like lock. Although his bangs are shorter than the rest of his hair, they still hang to his shoulders, and his Konohagakure no Sato hitaiate wraps around his forehead in the standard position and is tucked under the first layer of his hair, exposing only the metal plate and the dark brown cloth surrounding it. The hitaiate itself covers the Hyuuga branch's "curse seal," a green mark on his forehead shaped like an "X" with a wavy green line on either side.
His eyes are the same as any other Hyuuga's, distinguishing him as both an individual and a member of a clan. There is no visible iris or pupil, for they are both as white as the cornea; however, when his Byakuugan is activated, a light, semi-transparent circle surrounds his pupil, and radial lines become visible in place of the iris while veins protrude from the area around his eyes, giving him quite an intimidating appearance and ability.
Neji's clothing is peculiar, though this is not rare in the Naruto universe. His top is made of a stiff cloth material and is fashioned similarly to the upper half of a kimono. The sleeves cut off at the middle of his palms on each hand, and a flap of cloth that extends from the back is snapped over his right shoulder at the clavicle, leaving a portion free-hanging, though it does seem to stay in place quite well.
His lower clothes are also not "normal" in the sense that we think of. His pants are made of the same material as his shirt and cut off a few inches above his ankles to show off the standard dark brown shinobi sandals. A thick, wide belt made of a similar material as the rest of his clothes is wrapped tightly around his waist, and a sort of skirt-like flap of the same material hangs down. A cut runs up the front and reaches the belt for decoration.

Neji is determined to set himself up to accomplish his goals, whether it be gaining a new jutsu or simply not complying to Gai's and Lee's hyperactive games. He tends to hang around Tenten because of this and usually trains with her, because he feels that he cannot match the others' strength and vitality. He stands on his own two feet and does not enjoy being pushed around or told what to do unless it is by a superior.

Neji is an intelligent shinobi and a prodigy of Konohagakure no Sato that can keep his cool at almost all times. He is able to think rationally about a situation and devise a plan or course of action on the spot; an ability that helped him to become a jounin. If he feels that he is in need of more information, he asks right away, though he only asks what needs to be known and does not pry further unless he is able to access the extra information readily.

Although he is a little hard to get along with, deep under the surface, Neji is quite attached to his friends and teammates, and he does not want to see any of them turn over to the "evil" side, going as far to even say that he wants Sasuke back from Orochimaru's grasp. Currently, his best friend is Tenten, because he cannot handle being around Lee or Gai for too long, but he does harbor a deep respect for each of them and the other shinobi of his village, for it is his duty as a jounin to protect them.
History:
A Genin from the village of Konoha, Neji is the heir to the Branch family of the Hyuuga clan. This clan is known for its ability to use the Byakugan, a unique eye ability that lets the user view the internal chakra highway of his or her opponent.
Hyuuga Neji carried an extreme hatred for the main family of the Hyuuga line. He grew up believing that the main family had killed his father as a demand of Lightning Country. The Lightning Country had demanded the body of the main family's Hiashi, what they got was the body of Hiashi's twin Hizashi. After Neji's loss to Naruto in the third test of the Chuunin Exam, Hiashi Hyuuga went to Neji to let him know the truth.
Seeing Neji's abilities Hiashi realized that Neji was ready to know what had really happened in the past. Neji was then told that his father himself made the choice to sacrifice his life. As a branch family member, Hizashi, like his son Neji, had a cursed seal placed upon his forehead which forced them to protect the main family or else they would face death. Hizashi saw the demand for his brother's body and asked that they use his body instead. He did it not because of love, but because by choosing death it would have been the first choice he could have freely made in protecting Neji, his family and the village. Taking his father words to heart to choose his own destiny and Naruto's similar words during their match, Neji changed his outlook on life and seeks to better himself with a brighter hope for the future.
Neji would join Naruto, Kiba, Chouji and Shikamaru in their mission to retrieve Sasuke from Sound. Neji would square off against Sound ninja Kidoumaru. The match proved difficult and bloody, with Neji having to sacrifice his body to finally take out his opponent. He pushed himself to live up to the ideal of what other ninja saw the Hyuuga as, the best of the best, and the greatest clan in Konoha. Luckily medical ninja soon found Neji and rushed him back to the village for care. With the expert treatment of Shizune and Tsunade, his body was repaired and his life saved.
In following years Neji would continue to push his limits and perfect his skill as a ninja. He would take the Chuunin Exam and pass, and then later advance to the rank of Jounin. When Team 7 needed help in rescuing Gaara from Akatsuki, he joined his fellow teammates Gai, TenTen and Lee in traveling to the River Country. There he helped fight Hoshigaki Kisame and later his own clone created through Akatsuki's protective sealing jutsu.

~Eight Trigrams Empty Palm [Hakke Kūshō] :: This jutsu is similar in practice to Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, but has a specific target rather than a general area. To perform it, the user does a palm thrust to violently push the opponent away.
~Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher [Hakke Hazangeki] :: A focused variation of Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, this jutsu sends a wave of chakra directly towards an opponent, more than enough to shatter rock.
~Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms [Hakke Hyaku Nijūhachi Shō] :: This jutsu is essentially a doubled version of Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. Like the former, it closes off the opponent's tenketsu. However, it closes off twice as many (128) at twice the speed. Alternatively, it can be used to hit a great number of targets very quickly.
~Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin [Hakkeshō Kaiten] :: This jutsu utilizes the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from the user's chakra points right before being struck. The released chakra blocks any possible attack on the user. The user then spins rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any nearby attackers. This jutsu is only effective when rotating, since the chakra itself is not enough to stop a physical attack. If they cannot rotate, the user becomes vulnerable.
~Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms [Hakke Rokujūyon Shō] :: This jutsu closes off sixty-four specific chakra points on an opponent's body with the Gentle Fist, effectively eliminating their ability to use chakra for quite some time and making it difficult for them to move. It begins with striking two chakra points, followed by four more, then eight, then sixteen, then thirty-two, and then sixty-four strikes. Each set of strikes is done at an exponentially increasing pace and strength. The attack not only disables the enemy but also knocks them back with every set of strikes. In the anime, a minor version of this technique is Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms and the doubled version of this technique is Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms.
~Gentle Fist [Jūken] :: The Gentle Fist style of combat is based on palm strikes and generally aims to damage the body's Chakra Pathway System, thus creating difficulty by inhibiting an opponent's use of chakra. To do this, the user will forcefully insert a small amount of their own chakra into an opponent's chakra pathway system. The chakra can the be used to rupture or divert chakra flow, preventing them from using jutsu. It can also be used to attack the opponent's internal organs, to which the chakra pathway system is closely tied. Even the slightest tap from this style can cause major damage, hence the name "gentle fist." Because the chakra pathway system is invisible, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively. Since the Byakugan is unique to the Hyuuga clan, it has become their signature style of combat.

Kogitsune's sandaled feet shuffled delicately across the dirt trail that lead from Konohagakure to Tanzaku Town, a little village that was dotted with onsen that he knew for a fact were the best things possible for his health at the moment. In fact, it was Lady Tsunade herself that had suggested that he and Sakura go to the relaxing village, he wasn't going to complain... not that he ever did, of course. But he was glad that this kage was so much kinder and more helpful than Akahoshi and his strict no-playing-around rules.
Although he felt like more of a sheet of paper with a contract signed by both the villages now, Kogitsune had never felt like such a huge part of something as drastic as testing the weakened bonds of two allied hidden villages. It made his chest swell just slightly with pride before he remembered that any other Hoshigakure shinobi could have been chosen and gotten the same benefits, such as the one that he was being treated to at the moment.
He cast his dark eyes to the ground and began thinking about how much more the other villagers would have given to stay in the Fire Country for a few days so that their organs may possibly begin to heal as well. There were so many that were in worse condition than he himself was. Some of the older shinobi were unable to leave their beds because of the radiation from the meteorite. No matter how much or long he thought about it, he could never get over that such a small thing could make such an enormous impact on those surrounding it.
"Haruno-san," Kogitsune muttered, glancing over to the pink-haired young lady walking beside him. "May I ask a question?"
