History:
Yukimaru was born in Yukigakure, and like many that lived there, was named after the village. He did not mind the other children with a name similar to his; however, he was confused by it sometimes and learned to listen to prefixes, suffixes, and pronunciation that would tell him that it wasn't him the other was calling to. He grew accustomed to this practice, and soon, he was able to easily pick things up from hearing them spoken aloud, making him an auditory learner.
He loved listening to stories and village fairy tales, but what he loved more than that was how he was able to recall these and retell them to children to bring smiles to their faces. He repeated the stories over and over again, and before long, he had memorized all of the legends, myths, and tales of Yukigakure and a few from other lands.
One of his favorite stories was one told to him at a young age by Koyuki, the princess of Yukigakure. She told him that if she believed and was determined about her position as a princess, then spring would come to Yukigakure. Koyuki described this alien "spring" to Yukimaru, and with the help of his memorized tales, he was able to create a perfect land in his mind where it was always spring. He caged himself within the world, and before long, he began spinning his own myths about the flowery world.
His legends about this Land of Spring became popular, and soon, it seemed like every child was filled with warm sensations that accompanied the thoughts about spring, and they looked to Koyuki to be their leader to that fantasy world.
After the castle where Koyuki and her royal family had burned down and the princess was presumed dead, Yukimaru and the other residents of Yukigakure fell into mourning. When Koyuki's uncle took the throne, their hope flickered once more before it was curshed.
The new king as his shinobi minions all but tore apart Yukigakure, leaving the town emotionless once again. Yukimaru in particular felt responsible to getting up the villagers' hopes from his tales, so he shouldered as much as the guilt as possible and even blamed himself for things that had nothing to do with him.
He passed the genin exam with an average grade because of the pressure, but because of his condition, he was unable to smile until he watched a movie in theatres starring a woman who had an uncanny resemblance to Princess Koyuki, and once he had confirmed that it was her, with a grin, he spread the news through the village that their beloved princess was still alive.
The village eagerly watched her movies, and with the hope that the princess would return soon enough, Yukimaru entered the chuunin exams in Sunagakure. He easily passed the written exam with the help of his kekkei genkai, and though the endurance portion was difficult, he survived and moved on to the third part where he failed.
He was miserable once again for two reasons: one, he had failed the chuunin exams and was a genin while his teammates where chuunin, and two, the princess had still not returned.
This continued for two years, and finally after his third time, Yukimaru passed the exam and grew to the chuunin level. He was assigned a three-man squad, and he took them under his wing and allowed them to learn the secrets to becoming a successful shinobi; however, he continued to long for the princess' return.
Then the day finally came, though he didnt' realize it. While Koyuki battled her uncle, Yukimaru was training his pupils until the snow beneath them melted and quickly regrew into lush grasses and flowers. Thinking that it was a genjutsu, Yukimaru attempted to release himself, but when he found that it was real, he was stunned. Spring had come to Yukigakure.
He was overjoyed by this and attended the princess' welcoming party and even recieved an autograph which he hung on his will in his bedroom, and with the knowledge that his childhood friend was safe, he took the jounin exam and, to his surprise, passed it on the first try.

Sample RP:
Kogitsune's eyes fell slowly once more as he stretched back, resting his dark locks on the stones again. A small smile played on his lips as he gave a light sigh and nodded in agreement with Haruno Sakura's statement. "Although I do not know Hatake Kakashi like you do, nor do I believe I will ever, it is best to keep yourself calm and guarded in battle." The tiny speech made his brain spin from the steam, and he took a few more medium-deep breaths to calm himself down again.
It was going to be harder to relax here than he thought.
Not thankful for the intrusion, Kogitsune heard the feathery bare footsteps of someone very lightweight heading their way. He hoped that he or she would just hop by, but instead, a confident voice spoke up and ruined his quiet soaking in the onsen.
He didn't mind that she was speaking to Haruno Sakura, but once the attention was turned to him, Kogitsune opened his eyes and gave her a pathetic gaze. "I am known as Kogitsune," he stated simply. "My home is Hoshigakure... and I'm not very well-acquainted with this land." As soon as the words slipped from his mouth, he realized that he had given away too much and immediately broke contact and stared at the steam above him.
