Nara Shono
Type: Original
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Status: Single
Interest: None
Face Claim: Hiei
Appearance:
Shono stands at 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. His shoes are standard ninja shoes, black, with his ankles taped with white tape. Shono goes with the black colored pants feeling it looks a bit better than the more often worn blue. Shono’s shirt is like a spandex muscle shirt that is black in color and leaves both of his arms exposed from the shoulder down. Over the shirt is a light armor, like the ANBU wear, which is white in color. This gives Shono more mobility and less overall bulkiness. Shono wears black gloves that have long “sleeves” that extend ¾ of the way up his arms, or about ¼ of the way past his elbows to help cover up his bare arms. Near the end of these “sleeves” white tape is used to wrap them. On the back of the gloves are small metal slabs to help protect the back of the hands. The gloves cover both hands completely, no bare skin from the fingers is present. Shono also wears forearm guards, white in color, to help protect his arms. The guards start at the wrist and extend to 4 inches past the elbow. The guards have 2 straps that go around the forearms to secure themselves in place.
Shono’s hair is black in color with a little white in the front and is somewhat spiked up. Shono’s eyes are a deep brown that seem to radiate a loving and caring look to friends, while revealing a dangerous and intimidating look to his opponents. The Leaf Village headband is worn around his forehead. Shono is different in that he wears two kunai holsters, one holster wrapped around each leg’s thigh where the thigh is wrapped in white tape. Each holster holds one kunai and eight shuriken. The single pouch that is worn above the rear-end and holds many ninja tools is also worn favoring the right side of his body. Shono’s katana, the Kumorigan, is strapped across his chest so the sheath, which is black in color, is across his back, hilt to the right side. Unlike many in the Nara clan, Shono doesn’t have an ear pierced, or anything pierced for that matter.
Personality:
Shono is a caring and friendly person. He may seem distant at times, day-dreaming in his own little world, but once you start a conversation you can easily see his eagerness to be friendly. It takes a lot to get Shono mad, some would say the fuse on him is a mile long, but a few things can cut that fuse very short. Attacking people and the village that Shono loves will get him angry quick, and not just any type of angry, a well controlled anger where he thinks clearly about what he can do to you. Though seeing the angry side is rare. Shono can tend to be very lazy. Shono, for the most part, has based his life around being lazy, but beneath the laziness is a fire that is very un-characteristic of a Nara.
As the year's have progressed Shono's laziness has slightly subsided, but when given the option of work or lying around, Shono will almost always choose lying around. Shono’s desire to not fail is overwhelming. It could be a simple game of shogi, Shono will do whatever possible to not lose, he takes it as an insult to his intelligence and to his being to lose. This has sometimes created a clash with his laziness. Winning often brings more work, which Shono hates, but this is something he has painfully learned to deal with. Yet, with winning so important, Shono can’t bring himself to put himself or others in unnecessary danger, even if this means failing. After suffering great tragedy, life has become very precious to Shono.
One of his goals is to be a cool looking guy. Not much basis for this, he just wants to look cool, mostly for the ladies. The Nara ways of being slightly womanizing has not rubbed off on Shono at all, in fact Shono feels that women should be respected and protected. The overall lackidazickle attitude of Shono has made it kinda hard to meet girls, which is why he tries to dress cool looking, his hopes are that if he dresses cool that women will come up to him to start a conversation to save him the work of starting one himself. To date his plan has failed, meeting very few girls this way, but his hopes are still high that he will eventually meet the girl of his dreams.
History:
Ninja Academy arc
Shono started the ninja academy at the same time as everyone else. Shono made quite a few friends, some of which he already knew do to the ties their families had. After years of learning and training the final exam approached. With the test not even posing a challenge Shono passed the exam with the highest marks in class. This was a bit of a surprise to everyone, they knew to some extent of his extremely high IQ, but they also knew of his extreme laziness, so to actually put forth effort and succeed was a bit of a shocker. After successfully producing a clone the exam was over and Shono was paired with two others to from his squad, Team 19. Shono was paired with Hiko, a girl who had gotten the lowest score in the class, and Bunju, a boy who received the middle score of the class.
Hiko was very pretty, but what she had in looks she lacked in strength, intelligence, and overall ability. Although, this didn’t deter her ambition to be a strong ninja like her mother. Bunju was very physically strong, he also had a knack for being able to pick up and learn different techniques and jutsu quickly. Bunju’s lack of planning, strategizing, knowledge, and intelligence was his biggest hindrance, although raw talent helped him greatly in the academy’s final exam. Bunju and Shono were good friends despite Shono’s lazy and laid back attitude and Bunju’s high tempo pace. Neither knew Hiko that well but was accepting of her weakness, mainly due to her looks.
They were given the Sensei of Tokoku, a male Jounin 25 years of age who, like Shono, was highly intelligent. Tokoku was very brash and liked to brag about his abilities, but even so he was very willing to teach. Tokoku was very skilled in Ninjutsu, and during the teams very first meeting he told them that the last time he counted he knew over 100 jutsu, and that was a rough estimate. They finally finished their meeting after a long discussion about why they wanted to be ninja and were then pronounced Genin.
Genin arc
What motivation at the final exam that was shown by Shono was quickly gone by the time training began. As Bunju and Hiko tried their hardest to better themselves every day, Shono took the opposite approach and instead wanted to relax. Bunju and Hiko tried hard to get Shono to train, most of the time having to track Shono down, but in a way this was training in and of itself. While Shono tried to hide to take a nap he had to be quick, elusive, and very good at covering his tracks. This in turn helped Bunju and Hiko’s tracking skills and speed. As Bunju and Hiko got better at strategizing, finding, and cornering Shono, Shono had to think on his feet quicker to get away. This huge game of hide and seek really helped their overall ninja skills, eventually leading them to learn to control chakra to walk up trees and walk on water. Tokoku also pushed the three hard and the laziness that Shono showed was not always present anymore. When Shono did willingly train, he did so with a fire that was very un-Nara of him.
Tokoku taught them basic techniques that genin could handle and helped them develop skills and techniques they already knew. Shono worked mostly on his clan’s hidden jutsu, eventually perfecting the Shadow Possession Jutsu and the Shadow Neck Bind Jutsu. Since techniques were limited and Tokoku was eager to teach he decided to give them as much Taijutsu training as possible. With every training session all three’s speed and strength increased. Tokoku signed up the team for many D and C missions, trying to give them as much experience in the field as possible. A few of the C ranked missions they took on had various thieves and very low class ninja attacking them.
In the first year of being a genin they totaled 20 D missions and 11 C missions. The Chuunin Exam then came and Shono and Bunju were ready, but Hiko wasn’t. Tokoku decided to hold them back a year before allowing them to take it, so in the second year Shono and Bunju decided to help Hiko get as well prepared as possible. Shono put forth more effort than he thought he could to help with the mental aspect of being a ninja. The fruits of their labor came to pass when in one of their final C missions of the second year they were attacked by three rogue Chuunin while on an escort mission. Through superior planning by Shono and great use of skills by Hiko and Bunju, they successfully defeated all three ninja without the need for Tokoku to step in at any point. Shono had physically developed well, gaining speed and quickness along with a lot more physical strength on top of his already brilliant mind. The Chuunin exam again neared and this time they were ready, so Tokoku recommended all three.
Chuunin Exam arc
The first part of the Chuunin Exam was the written portion, nine questions with the tenth coming by itself after the 45 minute time limit. Cheating was prohibited, three strikes to either you or your partners and all three are out, but with the questions extremely hard cheating was the only option. Shono was probably the only person in the room that could answer the nine questions himself, but he needed to relay the answers to his partners. With enough light in the room to cast shadows Shono was able to shadow possess Hiko, and then branch off to Bunju two rows behind her. As he wrote the answers Hiko and Bunju’s arms followed in motion with every stroke of the pencil. The first nine were easy, the tenth was the kicker. If you or any of your two partners failed it you all failed and could never take the exam again, or you could walk out and take it next time. Shono’s group wasn’t scared with Shono’s intelligence present, they stayed and as it turned out staying was the tenth question, so all three passed the exam.
The next part was the survival mission in the Forest of Death. Shono’s team, now known as team 19, was given a scroll, an earth scroll, and entered the forest. They had seven days to acquire an opposite scroll from a different team, in this case a heaven scroll, and then make their way to the tower in the middle of the forest. Team 19set up a plan to capture a different team , and the morning of the second day they got their opportunity. Bunju created two clones and then those clones transformed into Hiko and Shono. Those three were to argue about not wanting responsibility over the scroll when an enemy team was watching. The real Shono and Hiko were to wait and hide in the bushes.
When Bunju and the two clones stopped arguing, one was to take a fake scroll and loosely place it in his/her back pocket and then take off. When they reached the spot they marked earlier, a lone tree in the middle of a clearing, the person carrying the fake scroll would then have the scroll fall out of his/her pocket into the shadow of the tree and continue on acting like they didn’t notice it. When the enemy team went for the scroll Shono would shadow possess all three and allow Hiko and the returning Bunju to knock them all out. They then steal the enemy’s scroll, tie up the ninja, and then proceed to the tower in the middle of the forest. This plan worked perfectly and they got lucky the enemy ninja had a heaven scroll to pair with their earth scroll.
The third part came in the form of a 1 on 1 battle between the ninja that made it to the tower in the seven day time limit. Bunju was the first to battle, he took on a hidden sand ninja and was able to win handily. After two more matches Shono’s name was drawn, and the person he would face turned out to be Hiko. Hiko thought it over and decided to withdraw. After the rest of the fights only eight ninja remained; Shono, Bunju, three other leaf ninja, two sand ninja, and one mist ninja. The pairings for the final part of the exam were then chosen, Shono’s first opponent was to be one of the sand ninja. They were then able to leave to prepare for the fight that would take place at a later date in front of a massive crowd. Shono took this time to work with Tokoku to learn a non-shadow based attack. He decided on the Fireball Jutsu, a jutsu that a genin could learn in his given time restraint.
The date came and the finals of the Chuunin exam started. Shono was the first to fight, the sun was slightly down, so one side of the wall gave adequate shadows to use. When the battle began Shono quickly started throwing kunai after kunai at the sand shinobi, the shinobi was able to easily dodge every one. After Shono threw 11 kunai he threw one more, but this one had a paper bomb attached to it. Shono threw it in the middle of the arena and once it exploded it created a small crater with half of it in shadow. The other 11 kunai were strategically placed in the ground around the rest of the arena without the sand shinobi even noticing it, so Shono was able to pass his Shadow Possession Jutsu through any of the shadows he needed to reach his opponent. After doing so he used the Shadow Neck Bind and forced the sand shinobi to give up. Bunju went next and also won his match, leaving just Shono, Bunju, the mist ninja, and the other sand ninja.
Shono’s next opponent was the mist ninja. Their match was at high noon the following day, this was very bad for Shono since the wall surrounding the arena would produce no shadow. Shono quickly thought up a strategy to combat this situation. Shono tied rope to the ends of kunai, and when the match started he threw these into the arena’s walls 15 feet in the air. A total of six kunai with one rope connecting two together were thrown, casting three long criss-crossing shadows the length of the whole arena to the arena floor below. Shono had also calculated exactly where to throw them so he had a 90% chance of possessing his enemy. The mist ninja was unable to find the 10% area where Shono’s shadow wouldn’t extend to, eventually getting possessed and shadow neck binded until he gave up. Bunju was able to beat the sand ninja, so in the final fight it would be Shono vs. Bunju.
The following day, before the fight, Shono and Bunju met and decided the crowd had seen enough of their ninjutsu. So they agreed to use zero ninjutsu, leaving this fight to be decided by what Tokoku had spent most of the time teaching them, taijutsu. Their fight began and they quickly took off, both showing impressive speed for genin. Many would have thought that this style of fighting would favor Bunju, but during the entire fight Shono was able to plan moves, set-up moves, and predict the moves of Bunju. After five minutes of great taijutsu Shono finally found the opening he had been looking for. He was able to get behind Bunju and sweep his legs out from under him with one of his legs. After Bunju was swept Shono used his other leg to kick straight upward into Bunju’s lower back, sending him flying into the air. As Bunju soared upwards Shono reappeared above, and as Shono fell to meet Bunju in mid-air, Shono hit him with a double over-hand smash to the chest. The force from this hit sent Bunju plummeting to the ground where another impact was met with Bunju hitting the ground hard. Bunju took the full brunt of the attack and was knocked out as soon as he hit the ground, leaving Shono the winner. Both Shono and Bunju were promoted to Chuunin for their outstanding performances.
Chuunin arc
After being promoted to Chuunin, Shono, now 13 years old, was often given the leader spot on teams during missions because of his amazing ability to plan and strategize. On any team Shono was on, whether he was leading it or not, the mission they were performing almost always turned out a success. Shono had mastered all of his clan’s hidden shadow jutsu by 15, and had created a few of his own, a big one being the Second Moon Jutsu which allowed him to use his shadow jutsu at night. Tokoku also taught him non-shadow jutsu, sticking mostly to fire style. For four years as a Chuunin, Shono’s success rate was 99%, the only reason it wasn’t 100% was because during one particular mission he led he made a moral decision that cost him the success of the mission.
Shono was chosen to lead a squad of four Chuunin, including himself, to capture and bring back the leader of a rogue ninja gang. The reason Chuunin and not Jounin were being sent was because the intelligence that was gathered had the ninja gang listed at Chuunin level at best, and all other Jounin being on missions helped the decision. Shono’s squad reached their destination, a small village towards the land of fire’s boarder, and found the rogue ninja leader they were looking for along with three of his gang members. The gang knew Shono’s squad was coming so they quickly attacked, and Shono immediately knew the intelligence that was gathered was horribly wrong. All four rogue ninja had low level Jounin level strength, more than enough to overpower Shono’s squad if they went 4 on 4. Instead of fighting 4 on 4 though, the rogue leader and one of his members fled together, leaving the other two members orders to destroy the small village of around 500 people.
Shono had to make a decision on the spot. The only way to defeat either of the two rogue ninja groups would be with all four of his squad, any less and his squad would be killed. So, he could either have his whole squad go after the leader and let the remaining two rogue ninja destroy the small village and the 500 people in it, or stay to save the village and allow the leader to get away into the neighboring country along with the success of the mission. Shono made the decision to stay and protect the village. His squad defeated the two rogue ninja and brought them back to the Leaf Village. The mission was now technically a failure, but in Shono’s heart he knew he made the right decision in protecting the villager’s lives.
At the age of 17, after four years of excellent Chuunin work, Shono was promoted to a Jounin. Coincidently, Bunju was promoted at the same time as Shono, both showing excellent ninja ability and both having an outstanding mission success rate. By this time Hiko was able to become a Chuunin. She was showing great improvement and in her eyes was finally becoming a great ninja like her mother.
Jounin arc
With the new title of Jounin little time was wasted in giving Shono dangerous S-ranked missions. 1 by 1 Shono led missions and 1 by 1 he was successful. From escorting high-class persons, to retrieving or transporting top secret documents, to running assassinations, Shono was quickly becoming well recognized in the shinobi world. Shono was becoming so good at what he did that he had received the nickname Crimson Shadow, referring to the blood he was spilling with his shadows. Many of the high-class persons looking for escort had heard of Shono and his inability to fail they had started to ask for his protection in their requests.
The biggest and costliest mission of Shono’s career came when he was 19, two years into his time as a Jounin. By this time Shono was one of the top Jounin the Leaf Village had, but his early childhood friend and team member Bunju was close behind. The mission was a top S-ranked mission that the allied Hidden Sand Village requested. An elaborate group of S and A-ranked rogue ninja from the Hidden Sand, Leaf, and Cloud Villages had stolen one of the Hidden Sand Village’s most secret documents that could ruin their village if not taken back. The Hidden Sand and Hidden Leaf had known of this group of ninjas for some time, gathering a great inventory of intelligence about them and their fortress. Now that they had stolen this document they needed to act now or risk this situation turning into something of a war. The Hidden Sand was sending four squads each consisting of their best Jounin along with two squads of ANBU. The Leaf Village matched what the Hidden Sand was sending.
The place where the rogue ninja were hiding was literally a fortress. It was in the middle of a desert, the only entrance in the front which was heavily guarded at all time, few windows, no known hidden entrances, getting in and staying alive seemed almost impossible. One of the four Leaf Village squads was headed by Shono, the second of the four Jounin by Bunju. The squads decided on attacking towards evening instead of at night since there was no element of surprise. They finally attacked and a huge battle erupted. The Jounin squads were to break the perimeter deep enough to allow the ANBU squads to infiltrate the fortress to retrieve the document. For the most part everything was going as planned, their squads were holding up against the rogue ninja onslaught.
For Shono, things took a huge turn for the worst. The enemy had started using weapons with special abilities and the fight was starting to shift. As he was fighting, Shono found himself back to back with Bunju. All the years of training together made this moment seem easy, that is until an enemy ninja used a weird sword to bind Bunju’s shadow. Shono tried to reach Bunju to help but was met with two ninja blocking his path. Shono got through them as fast as he could, but as he finished off the second ninja he witnessed an event that still horrifies him to this day. The enemy picked up the sword and started controlling Bunju to attack his fellow shinobi. As Shono raced to stop this, the enemy ninja saw him coming and in a quick instant ended Bunju’s life with one slice of the blade. Shono, overcome with anger, raced towards the shinobi but was then caught by the same shadow binding.
The enemy ninja closed in to then end Shono’s life, but Shono could feel that the binding wasn’t as strong as it should be, he also noticed a few bugs were slightly distracting him. Shono was able to overpower the binding and grab the sword for himself, he stabbed it into the enemy’s shadow and bound the shinobi completely. Shono then controlled this shinobi to do his bidding like he did to Bunju. After a few more minutes the ANBU returned from inside the fortress with the document secured. At this point the Sand and Leaf ninja retreated into victory, but before doing so Shono ended the life of the ninja that had taken his best friend from him. Shono then grabbed Bunju’s limp body that had been secured by Bunju's squad and retreated.
Shono kept the sword for himself, coming to learn it was the Kumorigan, aka the Sword of Shadows. This sword was originally forged in the Leaf Village with the help from the Nara clan, hence its special shadow properties. Shono kept it as a reminder of his fallen friend Bunju, and also because since it had been forged with Nara help it seemed only natural a Nara should wield it. Shono was forever changed with the passing of his best friend, vowing from that day forward he would do whatever possible to protect others for Bunju’s sake. Breaking the news to Hiko was another of the heartaches Shono had to go through. Hiko was close to achieving Jounin status and was being helped by Bunju to reach it. The days following his friends death Shono was assigned to the Sand Village to help setup security measures and be deployed there for awhile. The time away from the Leaf Village pulled at his heart strings every day until he was able to return.
Konoha Invasion
While the chuunin exams took place an invasion of the Leaf village took place, brought on by a coalition of Sand and Sound ninja. Shono, who was now 21, was doing security detail around the battle arena that had the chuunin exam battles taking place. When the invasion started Shono immediatly jumped into action, helping battle many of the invading ninja that were within the arena. When things looked like they were under control by his fellow shinobi, Shono left the arena to help on the front lines in the village. With the help from all his fellow Leaf shinobi, the Leaf village was able to withstand the barrage and eventually fight off the invaders.
The following years
During the following years leading up to the present time Shono has been dogged down by work. With Tsunade as the new Hokage and all the termoil that has come from the invasion there hasn't been alot of time for Shono to slack off. As has been the norm Shono has received many high class missions, really living up to his nickname the Crimson Shadow. When Shono has found a bit of free time, and has not used it to sleep or watch clouds, he has spent it working on maybe the most powerful jutsu that his arsenal has, Dragon of the Shadow Flame. Shono is on the brink of finally being able to use it after all the years of training, but what happens when Shono finally unleashes it for the first time is a huge surprise.
Chakra Element: Fire, Lightning
Rank: Jounin
Affiliation: Konohagakure
Weapons:
Kunai x18
Shuriken x30
Paper Bombs x5
Wire spools x2
Blank Scrolls x2
Weapon Name: Kumorigan, Sword of Shadows
Type: Katana
Properties: A katana with a 2’ 8” blade with a 9” hilt, making it 3’ 5” in length all together. The blade is black, the hilt is also black with red horizontal stripping. Off of the base of the hilt a small chain, black and six chain-links to be exact, is attached on the hilt. There are carvings on both sides that allow the user to transfer a small amount of chakra through the sword to allow it to use its special ability. When no chakra is used it’s an above average katana, but once chakra is used the sword can be used to shadow bind an opponent by stabbing the opponent’s shadow with the katana.
Character: Nara Shono
Description: The user doesn’t have to be holding onto the sword to shadow bind the opponent, this allows the katana to be thrown into the shadow and still bind him. Once the opponent is bound, the user grabs the katana, if he isn’t already doing so, and one more time sends a small amount of chakra through the katana. This time the shadow that is bound will attach itself to the small chain off of the hilt and the user can now freely control the opponent. The possessed can only be up to 15 feet from the user, any more and the bind is broken. He is also only possessed as long as the user is holding the katana, once he lets go the bind is broken. Anything of flesh and bone can be controlled, living or dead. A high mastery of shadows is required for the strongest binding possible.
Known Jutsu:
Hidden Nara Clan Jutsu
Shadow Possession Jutsu: Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. It's original purpose was as a skill to help delay any pursuers. After forming the needed hand seals, the clan member is able to manipulate their shadow along any surface. By using other nearby shadows they can further extend the reach of their shadow, however they are limited to the surface area of the original cast shadow. Once the clan members shadow reaches the target shadow, it will attach itself. While attached the target will be frozen, only able to replicate in mirror form the actions of the clan member. If the clan member is low on chakra, the Shadow will falter and the shadow will return to its normal form.
Shadow Neck Bind Jutsu: Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. To perform the technique the clan member will first bind their target using the Shadow Possession Jutsu. Once the target can no longer move, they form the needed hand seal to initiate this technique. The clan member uses their shadow to form a hand which will creep up their opponents body to their neck. Once the hand reaches the neck, it will constrict in such a manner so as to strangle the opponent. However, the clan member will need to be careful. If their target has a lot of chakra, they can turn back the shadow hand and prevent it from binding their neck.
Shadow Sewing Jutsu: Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. To perform the technique Shono will first form the needed handseal to extend his shadow. Shono will then change the handseal to cause the shadow to emerge from the ground in tendrils. The tendrils can extend and whip about and are strong enough to pierce nearby targets.
Shadow Gathering Jutsu: Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. This technique uses the Shadow Sewing threads to extend from a Shadow Neck Bind bound on the body. These threads can then pull an object back towards the one bound. In this case, the shadow thread was used to pull in wire and explosive tags which were surrounding the target. The Shadow Sewing then sewed the wire into the target, binding them with the wire and lacing them with explosive tags.
Shadow Summoning Jutsu: After capturing a target with the Shadow Imitation jutsu, the user summons shadowy tendrils from their opponent's body, controlling them in the same manner as Shadow Sewing, but from the opponent's body instead of the user's.
Shadow Jutsu:
Jutsu Name: Kage shouheki no jutsu[Shadow Barrier Jutsu]
Rank: B-Rank
Element: Non-elemental
Type: Defense
Character: Nara Shono
Description: Takes surrounding shadows to form a barrier around the user. User has control over where the barrier is, the barrier is a wall that can be on any of the one sides. Strong enough to stop standard weapon attacks, normal physical attacks, and most E to B ranked Ninjutsu. Anything stronger the barrier will hold for a short while before cracking and then breaking completely. A strong enough chakra attack will break it. A strong ninjutsu attack that's around at least a B rank will break it. A taijutsu attack that's powerful and can be done a few times in succession will break it. For normal weapons such as kunai or a sword that doesn't have any special properties it will take a good flurry of attacks to crack the barrier and then destroy it.
Jutsu Name: Kage kinko no jutsu [Shadow Imprisonment Jutsu]
Rank: A-Rank
Element: Non-elemental
Type: Supplementary
Character: Nara Shono
Description: A large cage, usually 15 yards long, by 15 yards wide, by 10 yards high, surrounds both the user and opponent. Shadows look like prison bars on all five sides, and with the shadow bars on top they cast shadows into the cage that can now be used. Once put up the user can now use other jutsu. Have to be in a heavily shaded area. Once both user and opponent are trapped inside physical attacks or other jutsu are used to attack. Really helps shadow jutsu usage with all the shadows that the cage gives off, very hard to avoid shadow jutsu when inside the cage. Takes a pretty heavy toll on chakra to create, but once created it's self-sustaining.
Jutsu Name: Kage kusari no jutsu [Shadow Chains Jutsu]
Rank: B-Rank
Element: Non-elemental
Type: Supplementary
Character: Nara Shono
Description: Chains form from shadows to bind opponent’s limbs. When a chain binds a limb the chain is anchored to the spot it sprouted from. The length of chain when the person is bound can’t change, if the length was long the person bound has that much room to move. For this reason the shadow chain is used mostly when it can be kept as short as possible for as much movement limitation as possible. Very useful to bind a limb from several ninja at once to then either attack or more often retreat. The shadow chain doesn't have to be sprouted from the user's own shadow, if the user is close to a shadow or standing a widely shadowy area the chain can be sprouted from a nearby shadow. Once they are chained the user can either run or attack physically or with other jutsu.
Fire Jutsu:
Great Fireball (Fireball Jutsu): Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals, draws chakra from their mouth into their chest and them immediately exhales it. They then blow a stream of fire which erupts into a large sphere of flames. To better manage the flames the ninja will bring their hand to their mouth to control it.
Mythical Fire Phoenix Jutsu: Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals and then emits a series of small fire balls. The ninja can also hurl a projectile which is covered in these same flames. To the opponent the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, they do not see the hidden threat within the flames. Meaning that even if the flames are put out, the projectiles still converge on the target. The flames can be used to cover different projectiles like shuriken or kunai.
Fire Dragon Flame Projectile Jutsu: Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does a string of hand seals and the proceeds to blow a large jet of fire from their mouth.
Jutsu Name: Kaji arashi jutsu[Fire Storm Jutsu]
Rank: B-Rank
Element: Fire
Type: Attack
Character: Nara Shono
Description: After a series of hand signs Shono forms a large "O" with his hands by connecting the fingertips and raises it to his mouth. The thumbs are right below his chin and the top fingers are resting on the bridge of his nose. Shono then tilts his head back and blows into the air at whatever angle is needed. The large "O" of fire streams into the air and at a pinnacle of 150 feet it starts it downward turn. As it hits the downward turn the fire starts to split into 1/4 inch size drops that fall to the earth like rain covering a range of 50 feet in all directions from the pinnacle point (100 foot diameter circle). It takes 3 seconds for the fire rain to fall from the pinnacle point. The rain of fire lasts as long as Shono keeps blowing, when he does stop the fire rain will continue for 7 seconds because what fire is left is still hitting the pinnacle point and falling. Shono can also move and tilt his head to cover more ground if there are numerous enemies or if the enemy is moving.
The farthest Shono can blow away from himself is 150 feet, unless Shono also wants to dodge his own fire rain the shortest he can blow it is 101 feet, leaving a foot of safety. All this changes if the enemy is below Shono. Each 1/4 inch drop of fire can easily burn skin and clothing, if the enemy is hit with the fire rain long enough he will eventually die of 3rd degree burns. Most often though the enemy is able to move quick enough to limit the exposure so that 1st to 2nd degree burns is all he endures. The burns cause severe pain that can limit mobility and thinking. It's very hard to think and move when every time you do you suffer excruciating pain.
Jutsu Name: Doragon kage kaen [Dragon of the Shadow Flame]
Rank: S-Rank
Element: Fire
Type: Attack
Character: Nara Shono
Description: By offering his own chakra Shono is able to pull forth the Dragon of the Shadow Flame from the shadow realm. A sphere of black/purple chakra is concentrated in Shono's right hand while his whole body is engulfed in a dark purple chakra. Shono then releases the energy when he has hooked the dragon on the chakra he's offered. What is emmited from his hand is a black flamed dragon's head that is followed by its long and thin body. Once the dragon is set loose it will remain in the human realm for a short time, and during that short time it will do almost whatever it pleases. Shono is only able to point the dragon in the inital direction at the very beggining. After that, if the dragon misses the intended target or any large body of mass, it will fly around on its own free will being completely dis-attached from Shono's hand.
The dagon is approximately 30 feet long, having a thin and long body that has very short and stubby arms and legs. Its head has dark red eyes that clashes with the rest of its black body. Its head is actually bigger than its body, which better gives a picture of how thin the body is. The only way the dragon can hurt anything is by actually hitting the person or object with his body, no flaming breath or anything like that. The dragon can even turn itself back on Shono and any of his allies if it misses the intended target. The destructive power is immense, usually leaving whatever it has hit as only ashes where they once stood. Shono's chakra is basically depleted after using this jutsu, it also leaves the hand that he used to emit the dragon a bit burned.

What is produced is the appearance of a full moon on a clear night so now everything casts a dim shadow. Takes a full turn after created to finally be bright enough to look like a full moon.
Non-elemental Jutsu
Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu: Advanced variation of the Shadow Clone Ninjutsu technique which was banned by the First Hokage. This has not stopped many Jounin-level ninja from learning the technique however. Instead of creating several clones, several hundred clones are created. Like normal Shadow Clones a ninja's chakra is split evenly among the clones when created.
The clones themself can utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clones finally disperse, any new knowledge they have gained is passed back to the original ninja and to any additional clones. This makes this jutsu an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Shadow Clones for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added. With the great number of clones, the ninja can effectively learn in a few weeks with a hundred clones what would take one ninja numerous years.
Genjutsu
Jutsu Name: Kage kokudo no jutsu [Shadow Realm Jutsu]
Rank: A-Rank
Element: Non-elemental
Type: Attack
Character: Nara Shono
Description: User sinks into his own shadow like sinking into water until he is completely gone. User’s hand then reappears out of his opponent’s shadow and grabs the opponent’s leg, dragging him into the shadow and by doing so into the “shadow realm.” In this realm the scenery is the same except it’s black and white. The user reappears in front of the opponent out of the ground which is all shadow. The opponent's feet are frozen in place, unable to move due to the shadows present. The user then attacks, and though the opponent can move everything except his feet, he is unable to perform all jutsu except for shadow jutsu. If there are multiple opponents the user can drag them down into the shadow realm one by one. Maximum people in shadow realm is four. When opponent’s are trapped in the realm user goes in and out of the shadows to attack physically or with shadow jutsu.
Jutsu Name: Kigen hyaku kage [Rise of a 100 Shadows]
Rank: B-Rank
Element: Non-elemental
Type: Supplementary
Character: Nara Shono
Description: After Shono does a series of hand signs his shadow will ripple and a black shadow in the shape of a person will walk out of it like walking up a series of steps out of water. Shono then steps through the shadow person and seemingly combines with the shadow so that Shono is no longer present. The shadow then takes on the outline form of Shono. The shadow person has no definate physical features like facial features to distinguish him from anything else, it's just the outline of Shono, so whatever Shono was wearing is outlined by the shadow. Every surrounding shadow except for the opponent's shadow will then ripple and shadows with Shono's outline will walk out. Shadow people begin to walk out of every shadow like walking on stairs out of water until there are 100 shadow people surrounding the opponent.
If the opponent tries to destroy the shadow person he will be successful, but another shadow person will walk out of another shadow so there are still 100 present. It has a limitless reach, the shadow people can come from any nearby shadow. With Shono combining with the shadow the opponent has no idea which one of the shadows is really Shono. Shono can now easily move around and attack with the other shadows to hurt his opponent. The other shadows can't hurt the opponent in any way, they are there to distract, confuse, disorient, and scare the opponent so Shono can keep himself concealed and attack with ease. Shono can either hit the opponent with taijutsu or with weapons.

Sample RP:
It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Leaf Village with just enough clouds present to do some cloud watching. Shono climbed to his favorite hill and layed upon it, resting his legs on top of each other with his hands holding the back of his head. As he stared into the blue sky a cloud passed that very much resembled a monkey, but upon another look it had the slight appearance of a person holding a whip. A slight breeze wafted through his black and white hair, feeling cool on a bit warmer than usual day.
As the cloud passed and even more passed through the sky, Shono was left to try to stay awake to watch these beautiful clouds at work, but he unfortunately fell asleep. After what had seemed like only a minute he opened his eyes, only to reveal that the sun was setting in the sky in front of him. He jumped to his feet with a panic, he was supposed to meet his friend over an hour ago to go over some training ideas and he was now late beyond reasonable explanations. It might have seemed odd that the lazy Nara would willingly do training, but what he was meeting his friend for was to go over different training ideas, not to actually put them into action.
Shono scrambled to his feet and raced down the side of the hill. Shono’s mind raced as he tried to think of an excuse other than he had fallen asleep that his friend would not only believe, but would accept without anger. As he hit the bottom of the hill he had formulated the excuse of running into former friends and had talked without concept of time. Shono was sure this excuse would suffice, and if it didn't there was always the truth that he had fallen asleep, his friend couldn't fault him for his Nara ways.
