Appearance:

Renzo is tall and wiry for his age, at first glance not seeming to be able to pack much power. However between his leg strength and his leverage, he can make up for his apparent lack of muscle mass. His hair is an untidy brown, and his eyes are a matching shade of brown. The tattoo from his Chishio Kougake only recently formed after the Chunnin exams (if this makes no sense read the Kuroha clan stuff). His face is expressive and usually friendly.

His typical attire is a black, sleeveless shirt, along with boots (not sandals) and fairly baggy khaki pants, and a pair of simple gloves, which cover his Chishio Kougake. On missions, he rarely dresses differently, only adding his chunnin vest and his forehead protector attached to his belt (it hangs loose like a ribbon or something more manly). His "formal" wear (seen in the image) is a cloak over a long-sleeved jacket that clasps on the front along with a pair of white "bracers" and boots.

Personality:

Renzo at first glance looks to be a very calm, reserved, quiet and deeply thoughtful person. Few things can be farther than the truth. Deep down Renzo loves to laugh, joke around, pull pranks, and relax. His nature around friends and people of equal rank is very informal and laid-back. Around superiors, Renzo straightens his act out slightly, but still keeps fairly laid back. In serious or life-threatening matters, Renzo dropps his humorous act and acts seriously and effeciently as the situation demands.

Renzo though he enjoys being able to test himself against someone else (in order to properly measure his own capablities) hates actual fights and tries to avoid taking a life if he can avoid it. He feels that everytime he takes a life a little more of his humorous attitude vanishes and justifies that if he kills too much, eventually he won't be laid back, relaxed, and cool at all. Though he is reluctant to kill, he will not hesitate to protect what's precious to him, he just usually tries to disarm or disable instead of outright kill. He dislikes death in any form, be it in battle or by natural causes, although he realizes that death is inevitable.

Few things can make Renzo more angry than hurting his friends and family. Renzo never gets angry or terribly upset when a mission fails or when he loses a sparring match. He tries to keep as calm as possible all the time, because anger is something that allows his Kuroken to gain a few more steps towards reaching berserk. The only thing that Renzo truly "hates" are the Kuroken themselves, his clan's ancient weapons responsible for killing his mother and turning his father into a broken, hollow shell of the man he once was.

Responsibility is something that most people would think that Renzo would avoid with his relatively laid-back personality. Renzo is actually quite comfortable with responsibility and will accept a responsibility given to him and will sometimes accept responsibilities that he doesn't need to, to make things easier for his friends or those who need help. He's also not so prideful as to not share his burdens with those who offer their help, with one exception. He will not allow anyone help him figure out how to destroy the Kuroken of his clan, he has taken that responsibility fully on his shoulders.

Renzo hasn't had much "experience" with dating or romance and as such can be kinda clueless about picking up the signs or interpreting some more sublte innuendos and such. On missions he doesn't notice any difference in gender, but on his freetime he's fairly concious about what he says and does around girls, especially good-looking ones.

History:

Renzo grew up with his clan on the outskirts of Konohagakure. Due to his clan's nomadic history he was treated as an outcast at first, something that he quickly came to terms with and overcame. He spent most of his free-time as an academy student training hard so that he could be strong, like his father, the clan leader Enma. He was confused one day after returning from lessons to find his uncle outside the house, bleeding from several injuries.

Rushing to him to ask what was wrong, his uncle waved him off saying that a problem had come up and that his mother and father were going to be gone for a while. Renzo did not know at that time that his father had lost his control over his Kuroken and had killed Renzo's mother Natsume before he could be restrained and disarmed. Renzo was only six years old.

Several years later, still being instructed in the ways of the ninja, he heard some of the kids whispering about him. Eavesdropping, as he usually did, he was shocked to hear the kids muttering about his father having killed his mother and then disappeared. Renzo rushed back to his uncle Gandame and demanded to know the real reason his father and mother hadn't been back.

Gandame, realizing that Renzo could no longer be fooled by his excuses told Renzo the truth, how Enma had lost control of his Kuroken shortly after returning wounded from a mission and killed Renzo's mother Natsume before anyone could stop him.

Renzo was understandably grief-stricken, but in the three years he hadn't seen either of his parents, he had come to terms with their disappearance. He then demanded to know what had happened to his father. Enma told him, how that after the incident, his father had been wracked with guilt, destroying his Chishio Kougake by having his hands cut off and severing his ties to the Kuroken completely.

Visiting with his father, who had given up his position as the clan's head, Renzo vowed to become strong enough to find a way to destroy the Kuroken and the "curse" they brought upon those around them. His father did not believe it to be possible, but agreed to help his son in his endeavor any way he could. The first was a rigorous training regimen. Taijutsu training with Enma and weapons and ninjutsu training with Gandame, who had temporarily taken his brother's place as head of the clan.

With a new set of training, Renzo stopped attending the academy and didn't even set foot in Konoha again until his father declared that he was appropriately skilled to be a gennin. The ninja running the academy tested Renzo and found him to be more than adequate in nearly every category. He was assigned a gennin cell and proceeded his true life as a ninja.

Once becoming a gennin he did not slack off on his training, but only increased his efforts, determined to find a way to destroy the Kuroken as soon as possible. After a close encounter when on an wrongly-leveled mission, he realized he had much, much more to go before he could even wield a Kuroken, let alone destroy one. When his cell leader recommended the team for the chunnin exams, Renzo saw it as a chance to simply measure how far he had gotten, not for the promotion or prestige.

The chunnin exam was difficult. His cell nearly flunked the written test, struggled the entire way through the Forest of Death, and the only one to make it past the preliminary tournament was Kuroken himself. Using his month in even more rigorous training, learning what his elemental affinity was and a single technique in it because of the time constraint.

Renzo was narrowly defeated in the first round by a Suna ninja, but accepted his loss and continued to train, attempting to perfect the techniques his family had taught him. His cell enrolled in the next chunnin exam, this one hosted in Sunagakure, shortly after Orochimaru's deception had been made evident.

Renzo made his way quickly through the preliminary portions of the exam, succeeding with his team fully intact, even up to the actual tournament itself. Having polished his skills to a much higher level, he was stuck with a couple of powerful quarter-final and semi-final opponents, finally proceeding to the finals to fight one of his own cell members.

Renzo, knowing the condition of both his own body and his teammate's forfeited the match, knowing that a conflict in their weakened state would lead to severe and critical injuries. The ones selecting those that passed agreed that discretion and knowledge of ones limitations was chunnin quality. Renzo's whole cell passed the exam, but were shortly after assigned to different Konoha teams to fill in gaps in existing cells.

Renzo, using his down time, returned back home to ask his father and uncle about the strange bruise that had formed on the back of his hand. Enma and Gandame realized instantly that Renzo's Chishio Kougake had finally awakened and took him to the vault where the Kuroken were stored. Renzo, having never been in the room before, moved unerringly through the racks of Kuroken weapons to select a single one hidden near the back.

Pulling the blade out and examining it, Renzo felt like he'd been holding that sword his entire life and turned to his father and uncle, his Kuroken already linked to him. Enma fell silent as his eyes saw the blade and left, leaving a confused Renzo to learn from his Uncle that Raitenshi, the sword he held now, had been his father's and had been the blade that killed his mother.

Shocked, but his determination stronger than ever, Renzo vowed once more that he would see the Kuroken destroyed, no matter what. However he knew that in order to properly be able to control his weapon he'd have to increase his own power. His next goal, to achieve Jounin.

Weapon Name: Kuroken Raitenshi
Type: Jian (a type of chinese sword)
Properties: Raitenshi's blade is about three feet long, and about two and a half inches at the hilt, tapering down to around two near the tip of the blade. The hilt is ornately designed with a yin-yang pattern detailed on it. The grip and scabbard are both made of a dark, solid wood. The blade is a bluish-silver color, even more so than normal steel. A blue tassel is attached to the end of the pommel and extends almost the entire length of the sword. The edge of the blade is a sharp as the day it was forged.
Character: Kuroha Renzo
Description: Raitenshi is one the Kuroken crafted by the ancestors of the Kuroha clan, and like all other Kuroken it was named after the one who forged it. It's a chakra blade which allows the user to channel an element through the blade. In addition, Raitenshi also has the ability to partially disrupt nervous systems and the flow of chakra when lightning-based chakra is channeled through the blade. Without entering the berseker state, Renzo can only use this ability with a max of 50% of its total power (which is "mastery" over the Kuroken), meaning that the attacks only produce, at 50% full power, a paralysis effect along with some minor motor difficulties (along the lines of reducing strength because of lack of control over muscles.)

Jutsu Name: Chishio Kougake [Blood Gauntlet]

Character: Kuroha Renzo.
Description: Chishio Kougake is the Kekkei Genkai of the Kuroha clan and manifests iteslf as a tattoo on the back of the hand. While the tattoo may vary, the effect does not, allowing the user to "attach" to a Kuroken and use it in combat at the expense of the sword slowly draining the user's chakra supply.

~ Lightning Shadow Clone Technique[Raiton Kage Bunshin no Jutsu] :: Raiton Kage Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes lightning to create a Kage Bunshin clone. Because it is a Kage Bunshin, the Raiton version shares the ability to interact with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. If the Raiton Kage Bunshin is injured, the clone will revert into its natural lightning state. Like in other Lightning Element attacks, should the target come into contact with the electricity, they will be momentarily stunned.

Renzo took a final breath and then stepped out into the main arena. The finals of the chunnin exams, he'd finally made it. It hadn't been easy, his team had almost got caught during the test, ran into a group of really strong grass ninja in the forest, and his two teammates had been fairly easily defeated during the preliminary tournament. One thing was for sure, Renzo had been fighting the etire way and he was not about to stop now.

His opponent was walking beside's him. Renzo had already forgotten his name, his focus purely on the fight. I'm not going to back down, even though he beat Masaki from my cell, I'm not giving up! The supervising jounin announced the fight start and Renzo immediately moved back, drawing the wooden sword he was going to use until he earned a Kuroken of his own and establishing distance to prepare for whatever the other genin might throw at him.

The Suna genin wasted no time throwing a small barrage of shuriken and kunai which Renzo managed to dodge and block, rolling out to the right of where he had been and closing distance quickly to bring the fight within melee range. A swift horizontal slash was blocked bare-handed which gave Renzo momentary pause before pulling back and unleashing a flurry of strong blows at his opponent, each one being blocked in turn.

Renzo realising that the situation was not favorable, jumped back after ducking under thrown punch and quickly formed hand-seals creating a clone of himself carrying the same equipment and weapons. The two Renzo's split to either side and charged in simulaneously. The Suna ninja held till the last moment before flipping out of the way and unleashing another wave of shuriken at the Renzo's, destroying Renzo's lightning clone in the process.

Renzo in dodging the onslaught of weaponry lost track of the Suna ninja and once recovered from his defensive posture stepped forward to feel a slight pressure at the back of his neck and the cool steel of a kunai held close to his throat. Renzo sighed and dropped his boken. He'd lost the fight. The match was declared a victory and Renzo turned around and held out his hand. "Good fight, I haven't had a work-out like it in a long time."

The Suna genin smiled and accepted Renzo's outstretched palm. "I haven't either, you were a good opponent. Better luck next time." Renzo nodded and left the field. Next time, he thought. Next time, I'll train so hard that nobody can beat me. I'll become a chunnin yet, just wait!

A few teensy things and a few comments, lol.

I actually liked reading this, tbh. I wasn't bored at all when reading it, and after reviewing as many as I have today [lol] it's good to read at least ONE good one... xDDD Because some of the ones that I did end up reading were really... crappy, to say the least. Thankfully, they weren't on here, lol.

One thing, though, it looks like you used teh wrong template for his weapon. Or some variation of it, idk.
