Mitsunari
Type: Original
Age: 105
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Indifferent
Status: Single
Interest: None
Face Claim: Kratos Aurios [Tales of Symponia]
Appearance:
Mitsunari stands at roughly six feet tall with untidy crimson hair that reaches back down to his neck. His eyes are a matching crimson shade and seem to carry both an indescribable sorrow and fire. His face is expressionless (most of the time) and his features are strong. His body is not particularly heavily muscled but nonetheless is is good shape for Mitsunari's height and build. Mitsunari's back carries several scars around his shoulder blades, one of the few things Mitsunari is self-concious about.
His typical attire is really whatever he feels like wearing. It changes from occasion to occasion, but his most common outfit is a red, bare-midriff vest under a white jacket with red straps and trim and matching pants. He wears typical sandals. All of his (limited) gear is stored in a belt pouch and he keeps a locket that once belonged to his wife.
Mitsunari is actually not "truly" human and is a Sylph, a member of a long destroyed clan that grows ethereal wings in any of several colors (often blue or white). The wings at one point in time were strong enough to allow the Sylphs to fly, but after many years of mingling with those that were not of the pure Sylph bloodline, the wings lost the proper strength to carry their user any further than a few inches at a time. Sylphs age slowly and have extended lifespans. Though Mitsunari is actually 105 years old he only looks like he is 21. Though they have long life-spans, Sylphs are just as susceptible to death by injury and disease as any other being. A Sylph who's had their wings removed (the regenerate, like a lizard's tail) or conceals them is incapable of using their full power.
Personality:
Mitsunari is very calm and collected. Seeing an angry Mitsunari is just as rare as seeing a happy, depressed, or guilty Mitsunari. Mitsunari does feel those emotions, but is better at hiding them under usual, everyday circumstances. Most of the time subtle body language and word choices are the only distinction between emotions when Mitsunari is blocking them.
This itself is made very difficult because Mitsunari is a very quiet, reserved and withdrawn person. He rarely willingly says anything and almost never starts a conversation. For a few months after his escape from Orochimaru's hideout (at the time), he was believed to be mute because he never spoke out loud. Mitsunari never was a huge conversationalist but became even less of one after his experimentation at Orochimaru's hands.
In pursuit of his goals, Mitsunari is absolutely ruthless. He will not let anyone stop him, enemy or ally, unless he is either defeated or presented with a better alternative route to his goal. In battle he does not fight to disarm and disable unless he is under orders to. He believes that battles should be ended quickly and efficiently and if that means killing a potential foe, so be it. Mitsunari does not enjoy killing, however, prefering to avoid confrontations that might lead to such situations.
Because Orochimaru's experimentation fragmented parts of Mitsunari's mind, he suffers from occasional flash-backs. He cannot control when or where, and they are often triggered by random sights or phrases that Mitsunari sees and hears. After suffering from a flashback, Mitsunari is shaky and his usual calm facade evaporates. Though he wants to know who he is and was, he also hates the fact that such things as memories could make him so weak and seeks to find the one responsible (Orochimaru) and pay him back in full.
History:
Mitsunari was born to a small family of Sylphs that lived near the border of Kumogakure. At a young age, Mitsunari expressed desire to become an explorer and adventure all across the land. His elder brother and parents laughed at him telling him that the world was a dangerous place and that if he wished to be an adventurer he'd have to be able to defend himself. It was in this way that his family taught him the ways of the shinobi.
Mitsunari and his family quickly found that their youngest son had zero talent for taijutsu or prolonged melee fights, but had an exceptional talent for illusion. After fifty years no one in his family could hope to match Mitsunari's skill in ninjutsu and genjutsu. Mitsunari, partially "matured" out of his dream of adventuring, stayed fairly close to home on his travels, not wishing to bring hardship that would undoubtedly befall his family should it become known that a family of the rare sylphs were living in the area.
Mitsunari lived in relative peace, eventually finding a wife, who after the marriage was told about Mitsunari and his family's secret heritage. Mitsunari his "adventuring" behind him, mostly stayed with his wife until one day news came of an attack further up the mountain. Knowing that the attack was likely against his parents and brother, Mitsunari rushed there only to find the house destroyed with no signs of life present except marks made by some kind of giant snake.
Fearing a ninja attack against the normal village that lay at the base of the mountain, Mitsunari rushed there and warned them to be alert and if things went bad, to run and find safety. Keeping an eye over the villagers Mitsunari saw a massive snake appear in the forest with someone apparently riding. The snake turned away from the village and deeper into the woods at the base of the mountain, near by where Mitsunari's home was. Realizing his wife Kosuna was still home alone, Mitsunari chased after the snake only to arrive too late. The snake had already killed Kosuna.
Mitsunari, in his rage, lost his control over his appearance and began to fight the man with the snake. The man eventually dismissed the snake and stopped the fight offering Mitsunari the chance to revive his wife if he would join with him. Mitsunari was skeptical but eventually agreed and followed the man. That man's name was Orochimaru.
After reaching Orochimaru's hideout, Mitsunari was trapped and Orochimaru, seeking the secrets of the sylphs' longevity experimented on Mitsunari. The anguish of his betrayal and imprisonment as well as his failure to his family eventually traumatized Mitsunari, erasing large patches of his memory that grew with every day spent in captivity. Mitsunari was consumed for his hatred for his own naivete and Orochimaru's back-stabbing for 20 long years.
One day, while trapped again in the Orochimaru's lab, he heard about the snake-tongued betrayer changing bases and moving onward, abandoning this location and everything in it. Sensing a chance to escape and take revenge, although what for, Mitsunari had long forgotten, Mitsunari broke free and slaughtered the guards with by using illusions, ninjutsu and the weapons of his fallen opponents, eventually breaking his way out of the compound. Weak and atrophied from years of imprisonment, Mitsunari managed to barely get himself to a village on the border of the Rice Country, where he was tended for until he had regained some of his old strength.
It was then that Mitsunari realized that he'd lost all his memory of his life previous to Orochimaru's experiments. Only one thing remained. A necklace that had once belonged to his wife, although he could now not remember why it felt so important. Resolving to hunt down Orochimaru, if nothing more than to regain his old self, Mitsunari set off, a lone man hunting for his revenge and his own past.
Chakra Element: Fire
Rank: Technically none (Jounin rank?)
Affiliation: Currently none, former Orochimaru experiment
Weapons:
~ None (finds weapons "distasteful")
~ Wires (considering their lack of offensive potential, doesn't consider them weapons)
Known Jutsu:
~Basic Chunnin and Gennin jutsu
Clan Name: Sylph (no actual clan name anymore...)
Kekkai Genkai Name: None.
Main Fighting Style: Generally, a large amout of genjutsu or ninjutsu with taijutsu finishing moves.
Clan Members:~ Mitsunari
~ Unknown
Kekkai Genkai Description:The Sylph's "clan's" kekkei genkai is more a matter of genetics. Trhough careful breeding in the past and only keeping those strong enough to be useful to the clan, their longevity has increased to between three-hundred and four-hundred years. At one point, nearly the entire clan had the strength in their wings to fly, but over eras of their bloodline mixing with others, the wings lost those strength until they were only capable of helping a Sylph with their balance. Their wings give them no real benefits beyond the increased balance.
Clan History:From an early era, the clan of Sylphs became adept at manipulating chakra. Along with careful breeding and detailed research into various kinjutsu and fuuinjutsu, they managed to increase their own life-spans to roughly 300 years. Though almost all the clans techniques were lost during the first of the Great Shinobi Wars, the clan's longevity and general scarcity remained. After the same Great Shinobi war when the clan was destroyed and scattered, the Sylphs abandoned their old heirarchal clan structure and techniques and parted, their long lives one of the few things to keep them company over the years.
Clan Weapons: None in particular.
Clan Jutsu: None.
Ninjutsu
~ Fireball [Endan] :: Endan is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. This jutsu allows the user to emit a jet of fire from his mouth.
~ Great Fireball [Dai Endan] :: Dai Endan is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire element. The user will first gather the fire into his mouth and then spew a giant breath of fire constantly at his opponent.
~ Dragon Fire Technique [Ryuuka no Jutsu] :: Ryuuka no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. After binding the opponent, the ninja uses a guide wire to unleash a large torrential fire burst onto the target.
~ Great Fireball Technique [Goukakyuu no Jutsu] :: Goukakyuu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals, draws chakra from their mouth into their chest and them immediately exhales it. They then blow a stream of fire which erupts into a large sphere of flames. To better manage the flames the ninja will bring their hand to their mouth to control it.
Jutsu Name: Joukigakure no Jutsu [Hiding in Steam Technique]
Rank: D
Element: Fire
Type: Supplementary
Character: Mitsunari
Description: By releasing a small, but weak gout of fire over a watery or very cold surface, Mitsunari creates a vast area of mist with properties similar to the Hiding in Mist technique (Kirigakure no Jutsu). The steam eventually fades unless renewed. This technique also makes the water tempuratures near the surface very hot.
Genjutsu
~ Dispel [Kai]
~ Demonic Illusion • Hell Fire Technique [Magen • Jigoku Gouka no Jutsu] :: Magen • Jigoku Gouka no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a vision of fire. After forming the needed handseals, a huge ball of fire will descend from the sky to envelope his target. The victims of the genjutsu will believe they are being engulfed by a torrent of fire and flee their location for safety.
~ Demonic Illusion • Hell Viewing Technique [Magen • Narakumi no Jutsu] :: Magen • Narakumi no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will use the serpent hand seal to cause a circle of leaves to spin and envelop the target and then fall away. Once cast the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion.
~ Death Viewing Technique [Shikumi no Jutsu] :: Shikumi no Jutsu is a technique used to completely stun an opponent. If the target looks into the eyes of the ninja, their mind is suddenly inflicted with intense visions of their own brutal killing. This results in their body going into shock and being unable to move. If the target can physically injure their own body, the pain can be enough to end the paralysis.
Jutsu Name: Higen - Kaen Enkei [Fiery Illusion - Flaming Circle]
Rank: C
Element: Fire
Type: Supplementary - Genjutsu
Character: Mitsunari
Description: Kaen Enkei is a fire illusion that creates a mental image of being surrounded by roaring flames. The temperature near the victims seems to rise and unless the illusion is broken the flames also feel real in every aspect. Mitsunari can control the size of the flames but must keep the size circular.
Jutsu Name: Higen - Touketsu Hisaki no Jutsu [Fiery Illusion - Frozen Flames Technique]
Rank: B
Element: Fire
Type: Supplementary - Genjutsu
Character: The character that uses it.
Description: Similar to Kaen Enkei, Touketsu Hisaki creates many flames that can be manipulated in any number of ways. However unlike the unbearable heat produced by Kaen Enkei, Touketsu Hisaki's flames feel even colder than ice, the flames seeming to produce a temperature of around -150 to -200 degrees farenheit. This creates a feeling of shock and disbelief in the target, effectively paralyzing as the body reacts to cold while the mind expects heat.
Jutsu Name: Higen - Fenikksu Kishou [Fiery Illusion - Phoenix's Rising]
Rank: A
Element: Fire
Type: Supplementary - Genjustu
Character: Mitsunari.
Description: After mimicking death in some fashion, Mitsunari is "reborn" in massive flames. Mitsunari then spreads his wings (which are engulfed in the fire) while a giant bird of flame, a phoenix, also rises from behind Mitsunari. Gouts of flames encircle Mitsunari's target, preventing fleeing while the phoenix makes a large display of rising high into the air and diving into the target, engulfing them fully in flames, entrapping them and paralyzing them with pain while Mitsunari is free to make his escape or deal a killing blow. Pain alone cannot overcome the illusion. The illusion affects everyone within sight of Mitsunari when the jutsu is cast, but only those specifically targeted feel the flames generated. The amount of chakra required by this technique is massive.

Extra Notes: Was going to make my own image for this and stuff, but I didn't want too lol. Too much hassle XD. Mitsunari is a sylph,a "wind elemental" not that he's attuned to wind... Being a sylph just gives him a particularly long life span and under certain circumstances a pair of neat-o wings that don't actually DO anything... This is the "official" sylph. Sylph (Mines not lol).

Toshiro stepped forward, his hakama rustling softly as he strode forward to look at one of his ‘assistants.’ The younger vampire quivered with nervousness, and rightly so. The renegade he’d been ordered to hunt down had managed to elude him, and Toshiro did not take defeat in much of anything very well.
“Kojiro,” Toshiro breathed. “What am I going to do with you Kojiro?” He took another deliberately slow step forward. “The Volturi will not be pleased that a renegade escaped. No doubt they would not want someone of such...incompetence.” He made his way slowly around the kneeling vampire, who was shivering, not because the room was cold. It wasn’t. Kojiro shivered in fear of what his leader could do to him.
The other three vampires in the room looked on as well, as impassionate as they could get. They knew that Kojiro had failed, and that there were consequences of such failure. One of them shifted his weight slightly, and made a slight movement with his hand. Toshiro noticed and then turned his attention back to Kojiro.
Toshiro was now standing in front of the younger vampire again. “Kojiro, look at me.” The younger vampire complied, raising his head enough to catch an eyeful of the two katana in Toshiro’s belt. He flinched and started to look down again before deciding that it would be smarter to obey his superior.
“Kojiro, the Volturi would likely kill you for your incompetence, but I know that you were simply outclassed by the renegade.” Toshiro walked away speaking over his shoulder. “Sakura. Yuan. You will accompany Kojiro here and assist in tracking down that renegade, make sure that Kojiro attones for his failure by finishing off the renegade...personally.”
He turned towards the last vampire still standing in the room. “Now then, Mitsunari, who is coming to visit so unexpectedly?” He’d turned Mitsunari almost two centuries earlier, impressed by the young man’s ability to detect presences, and even more so when the trait amplified as he became a vampire.
“Demetri, my lord,” he bowed as he said this. Toshiro nodded absently, barely noticing the reflexive bow. Mitsunari had been turned during the Meiji era. Samurai had existed then, but were a mere shadow of what they had been over 100 years earlier.
“Well, bring him in, we mustn’t withhold our generosity from a fellow Volturi.” Toshiro chuckled slightly at the statement. Only he had ever been a member of the Volturi. As East Asia grew in size, he had needed to find helpers beyond Mitsunari to help him enforce the Volturi’s will in the region.
Mitsunari nodded, leaving in a flash and returning with the Volturi tracker. “Demetri, welcome. What brings you here?” he said politely.
Demetri stepped forward and began to speak. “Aro needs your help. These were his exact words. “Find Toshiro and tell him that I ask that he leave immediately for a small town in Washington in America called Forks. There is a coven of vampires that could be a threat. The are called the Cullens. He should keep us informed of their activities and be prepared to act on our word.'”
Toshiro’s smile dropped instantly. Even if it was spoken through a messenger that had taken out the emotion of the original speaker, Aro sounded anxious, riled. There is something major going on for sure, if it has Aro so perturbed, he thought. The fact that he sent someone as important as Demetri, and requested my help just confirms that something is making him nervous, very much so.
Toshiro moved his glance from Demetri to Mitsunari and back. His loyal follower would take place in his absence and direct his other subordinates. “Demetri, tell Aro that I will be there as he has requested. Mitsunari, I believe I have a ship I need to catch...”
