Sasaki Mana
Type: Original
Age: 13
Gender: Female.
Sexuality: Straight (so far)
Status: Single
Interest: None (so far)
Face Claim: Furukawa Nagisa [Clannad]
Appearance:
Mana is small and unassuming. She barely reaches 5'1" and is very slim and light-weight. Her features are fine and delicate, fairly typical of a girl her age. Her hair is a warm, inviting brown and her eyes are a lighter, almost amber shade. Her body is understandably undeveloped. Her skin is relatively pale and very smooth. Her general body shape indicates that she'll grow up into a good looking girl. Her kind, soft voice has a thick Osaka accent (southern in english).
In clothing colors Mana prefers blues and whites over other colors. She can often be seen wearing a blue, sleeveless dress held together with a white obi and extending down to just below her knees. She wears a pair of white boots that extend up past her knees a few inches. She also wears a pair of arm-warmers from just above her elbow down. She keeps her hair short and when on a mission wears her forehead protector bandana style and pushed back so that the metal section faces almost straight up. The fabric of her forehead protector is light blue.
Typical attire
Personality:
Mana is very idealistic and naive. She has this aura of infectious optimism that seems to make everyone feel that everything is going to be alright. Mana is really easy to trick and, lacking much experience in the real world, can be rediculously naive and easy to fool. She learns fairly quickly however and is vaguely aware of her own naivete and usually brings along a friend to help her out if she's uncomfortable in a situation.
Mana is also very quiet and shy. She was quiet even before her brother Satsuma's death, but afterwards became even more introverted. Though she's often quiet, she's actually quite a nice person, and is much more open around friends and those that she's gotten to know better. However because of her natural shyness this number is relatively few.
Mana is a very kind and gentle person. She hates fighting and will even go out of her way to defuse or avoid hostile situations. She hates to see those close to her fight and hates when people get hurt as well. She try's her best to be happy, or at least appear to do so to put those around her at ease. This has led to an unfortunate habit of her smiling to cover up when she's feeling sad or depressed. She dislikes to burden others with her problems, but if pressed will reveal whatever issues she has on her mind. Mana enjoys spending time with those she consideres friends.
History:
Mana grew up in the ruins of an Rain Country city, with nobody but her elder brother Satsuma to take care of her. Mana's parents had been slain during a raid between the larger ninja nations that officially "never happened." Life was difficult for the young orphans, but their story was hardly new and had been repeated around the country for years.
Eventually to try to find a better way for the two of them to live, Satsuma moved himself and his sister to Amegakure, thinking that the larger, intact city would give them a better chance. However upon reaching the city, the two siblings learned that they were only slightly better off, if at all, than they had been out in the countryside. The two siblings continued to struggle onward.
Satsuma nearly turned to a life of crime but they were noticed by an Ame ninja before Satsuma could. Taking pity on the two, he took them in and offered to feed them and give them training in the ways of the shinobi so that they might be able to make it through their tough world. The two hesitantly accepted, initially distrusting something from the city they had long ago since learned could hold all kind of deceit and treachery. After a while, however they embraced their new lifestyle as best they could. Satsuma instantly took an affinity to the ninja ways, and while Mana struggled, she always did her best to keep up with her brother.
Satsuma, who was several years older than Mana, graduated before his sister and was quickly assiged a cell as a gennin. Satsuma's natural talent was again displayed as he quickly rose to become a chunnin shortly after his sister finally graduated from the Amegakure academy. His time as a chunnin was short-lived as on Satsuma's first mission he was slain in the line of duty, and his team unable to recover his body. Mana took the loss of the last of her family hard, but because her brother's body hadn't been recovered always held onto the hope, no matter how slim, that her brother was still out there, alive and waiting for Mana to find him...

Description: Kizu Doutei is a technique with almost worthless combat potential. By making physical contact with a target, Mana can recieve a general "summary" of the target's life force ("read's" the target's HP and status effects). The ability can also be focused down to a single body system to recieve a more detailed "description" of what is happening. The technique itself deals no damage of any kind. Kizu Doutei is often used in conjuction with other healing techniques to figure out what area's should be healed, or what kinds of poisons or drugs might be in a person's system (as far as telling which body system the poison or drug affects).

Katsumi stood in the middle of what would be the area for activities later on that day. She was excited to the point she had hardly been able to sleep the previous night, trying to figure out what she was going to wear. Eventually she had alright, but she woke up later than she usually did, which prompted her to rush through the morning, even though it was still well before noon.
End result: Katsumi was alone at the virtually empty festival grounds, waiting for something...anything...to happen. Hell, I'd end up getting so bored that I might even want a ninja to attack me or something. Anything's better than just wasting time here. She sighed. Plus it's the hottest day of the week so far and I just had to pick this outfit and mask of all things...Talk about failing to dress for the weather...
Katsumi examed what little she could with her "mask" on. She wore her typical battle attire, along with an extra blood-red cape and a medieval full helmet. This is what was limiting her field of vision and Katsumi felt like she was being baked inside of it. "Great choice, Katsumi..." She muttered sarcastically as she popped open the visor and again critically examined her "dress." She could find nothing wrong, but even sliding the visor up and out of the way did nothing to allieviate the heat and stuffiness in the helmet. "I'm dying in here!"
Katsumi pulled off the helmet, her long, vibrant orange hair dropping down. She hadn't been able to wear her hair in it's usual style because of the helmet. She didn't mind it down, but at times it could just be a little unwieldy when it was loose. Katsumi shook her hair out and then stepped over to the alley where she'd left Mugenriki leaning against a wall. Between the sword's weight and the fact that it was her Kuroken, she wasn't worried about someone stealing it. Hell, most people couldn't even effectively carry it.
Katsumi stood there, debating whether or not to leave the helmet behind but she shook her head. "This is a masquerade. I can't just toss it aside. Renzo would never let me live it down I'm sure." She turned her gaze up and a few flames of determination were flickering in her eyes. "This is nothing! I've endured much worse!" With that said, she jammed her helmet back on her head and strode out to the middle of the festival grounds, her helmet in place and crossed her arms, determined to stand and wait until the festivities started.
