Pain's Rinnegan eyes snapped open. His Deva Path had been resting from a recent battle, and he was eager to get it back into use. Up at the top of the tallest tower in Amegakure, Nagato smiled. It seems as though my Deva Path is again in working order... Perhaps I should find out where Konan is... he thought. Projecting his chakra, he was able to see out of Yahiko's dead eyes, his Deva Path's eyes, and was able to move the body. Taking control of it, Pain moved to a door and walked down a narrow hallway.
Steel was everywhere. The entire tower and the entire village was practically made of it. Pausing at a window, Pain glanced out into the darkness of night. Here and there a light or two would flash, and he could detect a few villagers moving about, even though it was past curfew. None were ninjas, or even remotely threatening to the peace, so he decided to let it slip this time. Turning his gaze back down the hallway, he continued at his normal pace, striding quickly past doors.
From time to time, Pain would project his chakra in a radius about him, searching for Konan's chakra. The tower was large, and he didn't want to waste too much chakra, so he stuck to small radius' and searching. Suddenly, a bit of familiar chakra entered his chakra field. Quickening his pace, he came to a slightly ajar door. He knocked twice before pushing open the door. Shutting it behind him, Pain turned his attention to the figure in the room. "Konan," he said simply.

Prepare to hate me, fall where I may. This night will hurt you like never before. Old loves, they die hard. Old lies, they die harder. Quietly Konan stood in her room, rifling gently through the papers on her desk. They were all white, all perfect squares, but there was a specific one she was looking for... One she'd engraved a message in with chakra, and would only show up with her own chakra. A frown crossed her delicate features as she sifted through them rather quietly... Pain had still been resting from a recent battle, basically leaving her to keep an eye on things for the most part... Of course, she still visited Nagato himself every now and then, but most of her encounters were with his Deva path. Still, nonetheless, it was nice to visit Nagato personally every now and then.
So immersed in her searching Konan was that she jumped slightly when two knocks rapped on the door that she had left slightly ajar. The sound of those two knocks was much too familiar... Pain's Deva Path. Ice-blue eyes turned with that rather shapely body, still very prominent under the baggy black cloak, as Konan turned to greet him. Carefully she managed the ghost of a smile after he greeted her simply with her name.
"Pain," she said, acknowledging him the same way that he had. Although she knew it was rather rude to not look at someone while you spoke to them, she had no other choice; that note had been important, at least for her. It wasn't anything major, but to her it was a big deal. "What brings you here?" she asked, turning towards the desk once again. Setting down the stack of origami paper she'd had in her hand, she reached for another stack and carefully began sifting through it. A very faint glow of chakra could be seen as she checked each paper, with her chakra, for the message; It had been a note to remember where something was! How could she remember where the other item was if she couldn't find the message she'd left herself to find it? Sometimes, having a scatterbrained moment wasn't the best of things... Nonetheless, as frantic as she might've been in her own mind, Konan was projecting that same, calm demeanour she always had.
A gentle sigh escaped her lips, though it came out as more of a groan than a sigh. She seriously couldn't find it..? There was no way she'd used the paper, that was for sure. She could've sworn she left it on the desk, somewhere... Her body language now portraying the demeanour of slightly annoyed yet still calm, she picked up the third and largest stack, sifting through it as well... She absolutely needed to find that paper, sometime soon. Ah, well, if she hadn't left it on or in the desk, she would probably have it in her cloak somewhere... Perhaps that was a better place to check. Coming to the bottom of the stack, she set it down amongst the others - the desk still, strangely enough, perfectly neat - and methodically slid her arm out of the baggy sleeve and into the inside of her cloak. Digging in one of the inside pockets, she protruded another stack... Oh yes, Konan was not loaded with weapons, not really. She did have kunai and shuriken hiding, as well as a few other metal objects, but her cloak was mostly filled with origami paper. Sifting through that stack... No. It wasn't there. Lovely, absolutely lovely. This was exactly what she needed... I wish I had an angel For one moment of love. I wish I had your angel Your virgin Mary undone. I'm in love with my lust Burning angel wings to dust. I wish I had your angel tonight. ______________________________________________________________________________________ I lie inside myself for hours, and watch my purple sky fly over me...

Pain's purplish Rinnegan eyes swept the room. Konan was standing with her back to him, searching through a stack of papers. He detected a slight jump from her and a momentary rise in blood pressure, but it settled down quite quickly. She whispered his name quietly and continued shuffling through the papers. Pain understood she was looking for a certain piece of paper, so he wordlessly took a stack from her and looked at it for a second. He could detect nothing special from the stack, other than slight traces of chakra emanating from the entire stack. Taking another two stacks, he set down the one in his left hand and pulled a paper out of the middle of the stack in his right hand. He extending his left hand, still bearing the paper, towards Konan.
"I belive this is what you were looking for?" he asked, setting down the other stack of papers. "This piece feels different from the rest. More chakra is emanating from it than the others. You purposely injected more chakra into this than into the others, did you not?" Pain looked at Konan, the same Konan he had known for decades. Still the same blue hair and teal eyes, and wearing the origami paper flower in her hair. She asked him what brought him here, so he opened his mouth to respond. "I wanted to know where you were to make sure that you were safe and something had not happened. And...-" At this Pain paused, something rare and unusual for him. Allowing a slight twinge to come upon his lips, causing the corners of his mouth to come up just slightly, he asked, "Since you have been cooped up for so long, where would you like to go?"
