Broken Bonds [Flashback. Naruto]

[Uchiha Sasuke]

The wind blew, the softness was suttle yet comforting while the Uchiha grinned as he clinched his fist. He felt the faint pressence of his "companion" Naruto. Sasuke paid no mind til he reached the valley of end. He leaped on top of Uchiha Madara's statue and stopped on the head. The feeling an sensation of the new powers he was bestrode made him feel a sudden rush to test it but he held back. In his head he thought how weak the men were that Orochimaru sent to bring him back to him. "Useless weaklings, couldn't even survive against konoha brats. I guess it will be inevitable if I have to fight." Those thoughts ran through his head while waiting for Naruto to arrive.

The curse mark started to recede off his face, leaving only part of his face with the gray and black color, and his eyeball as black as night and his pupil yellow. That same grin he had before suddenly reappeared. "The power, Naruto needs to hurry the hell up." He said underneath his breath. With his foot ready to move forward he felt Naruto's presence, closer than before, the grin faded and the wind continued to blow through his hair. He wanted to say something, but the proper words wouldn't come out at the time, so he stood to hear Naruto's words once more. The only thing on Sasuke's mind was Broken Bonds, which his brother Itachi said he'd need to beat him.

[Naruto Uzumaki]

Naruto rushed through the forest, he knew Sasuke was there. He needed to hurry, in full speed he dashed through the woods and reached an open road. He saw Sasuke’s footsteps in the road and in full speed started running towards the direction the footsteps were heading. This was not just about Naruto or Sasuke; it was about keeping a promise to Sakura. The promise that he gave to her; he will bring Uchiha Sasuke back home, he had to keep to his word, even if he’s going to break his every and drag him back to Konoha. Finally he heard a waterfall, after a few minutes of running along the road he now saw a waterfall and two statues. On one of them stood his former companion Sasuke. Naruto jumped and landed on of the rock solid statues, sliding on is head near the edge. He looked at the back of a blue figure. He didn’t say anything, for a good minute he glared into the Uchiha crest on his back and tried catching his breath. His blue eyes looked straight into his back for sometime before he decided to speak.

His voice was hoarse and slightly angry as he shouted the name of his companion loudly trying to get his attention“Sasuke!” his eyes were locked on the raven haired Uchiha. His face was turned away and Naruto didn’t say anything for awhile. Sasuke didn’t turn around, but he stood there not doing anything, Narrator shouted again, this time his voice was a lot angrier then before “Sasuke!” that name echoed through the valley repeating it a few hundred times before silence fell on the valley again. After those words he saw as the Uchiha started to move away and claimed “Are you going to run away from me?!” his voice was full of rage, demanding answers, his anger was obvious and no one could deny it. For a brief second his eyes fell onto the face of the statue wanting to know who it was.

Naruto immediately recognized this man, the first Hokage. Naruto knew his face well, he spent hours looking at the Hokage Mountain when he was little and that face was something he could never forget. He looked up again at Sasuke and started to examine his statue. It was another man, but Naruto didn’t know who he was, he was wearing strange armor and holding his fingers up like Naruto’s statue as well. The silence was painful, Naruto’s eyes locked onto the Uchiha again, he was not going to let him escape. In his mind he was thinking only about Sakura, everything shadowed itself in the fact that he needed to do this for her sake if not his. Naruto was still quietly gasping for air because he ran too fast and used up some of his oxygen.

[Uchiha Sasuke]

As Naruto's foot hit home on top the the statue all he could do was smirk. Hearing Naruto scream his name meant nothing to him. He started to turn when Naruto accused him of running, looking at him with a smirk. "Yo idiot." He started to laugh at how pathetic he looked. "Is it you this time..? Will you try feebly to bring me back?" The serious face of the Uchiha was one to reckon with as he stared down Naruto, knowing full well what his intention was. Sasuke really did not want to waste time with him, but if push come to shove, he wouldn't hesitate for the kill.

The curse mark still shown on his face only shown that he had become accustomed to it a little. His eyes wandered across the sky as his mind went on Sakura, he couldn't stand her but he was serious when he thanked her. But the thought of her most likely sending Naruto to stop him pissed him off even greater, he never showed that emotion though. "I told Sakura this, so" He remained silent for a few seconds and looked back up at Naruto "Don't bother me anymore. It's not your duty to watch over me." He started to grin once more and laughed as he waited his friends expression.

The blonde continued to look at Sasuke. His blue eyes filled with rage, his mind didn’t know what else to say to Sasuke. Did anything they did together as team seven mean anything to him? Or were they just another speed bump in his road of self-destruction? Naruto didn’t know the answer and doubted that Sasuke himself knew. He wasn’t the same as before Naruto could feel the darkness in him. As Sasuke turned around Naruto’s mouth opened in a small jaw drop. Half of his face was covered in some kind of black tattoo and his left eye was yellow. What was this? Did this seemingly strange change of appearance grant him strength or does it give him some kind of new ability? He had the sharingan what more could he want? His strength seemed to have grown, his confidence surely has. Sasuke’s tone was over-confident this seemed strange given recent events. Naruto ignored the fact that he was just called an idiot, there were more important things now then name calling.

Naruto stood straight, his hands clenched into fists as he glared angrily at the stupid Uchiha brat. He took a deep breath like suppressing his tears. Sasuke seemed he didn’t want to go back, Naruto was going to bring him back, even if he didn’t want to, feebly or not that’s for him to decide. Naruto didn’t say anything at first, he didn’t even respond to his question about bringing him back. He only lowered his head slightly as if he was sorry for something. Sasuke asked to leave him alone, Naruto wasn’t going to accept it like that. He was going to bring his friend home. He might not think of Naruto as his friend, he might think of him as a nuisance, he can think what he want. Naruto will defeat him and drag his sorry ass back to Konoha. His eyes lifted to look straight to Sasuke. His piercing blue eyes started at him as his clenched fist got even tighter “… You don’t even care that your comrades risked their lives for you?!” He shouted at Sasuke with an angry voice.

Naruto groaned with anger as he shouted to Sasuke “For the both of us! For everyone who almost sacrificed themselves trying to save you, for Sakura, for every comrade we have I will bring you back to Konoha!” Naruto then leaped from the head of the statue high into the air. He chose his target quickly- Sasuke and decided to land on him. As his shadow fell onto Sasuke and he himself was high in the air Naruto screamed loudly over shadowing even the sound of the sound of the large waterfall. His voice was full of anger and confidence “Sasuke!” As he gained speed and got closer to Sasuke he got ready to land onto him, bring him down and start punching him until he looses consciousness and goes back to Konoha with him. Suddenly Naruto flashed back to the mission again Haku and Zabuza. Their first hard mission as team seven.

Sasuke told Naruto that he wanted to kill his brother. Back then Naruto didn’t know who Sasuke’s brother was. But now he knew full well that it was Uchiha Itachi and he saw with his own eyes of what that freak is capable of. Akatsuki, Konoha, Jinchuuriki all these things seemed so meaningless now that he was facing off with the person who he considered to be his friend.

[Uchiha Sasuke]

He couldn't stand to hear Naruto's belly-aching, before he jumped, Sasuke stood with one of the coldest expressions he's shown the idiot. He put his hand on his hip and bent his right leg as if he would jump. He didn't move but looked at Naruto in his eyes. "What's with the grim face? Since when do I care for you weakling brats? Good for them if they got themselves killed for a hopeless cause." As Naruto continued and fell on top him, Sasuke just smirked as his head hit the ground. He kept both hands at his disposal to choke Naruto if needed. The coldness in his eyes stood still, not blinking or moving. "What does any of this have to do with you? He spit in Naruto's face and continued to speak. I have my own path, I won't let anyone lead me another way, no matter who it is."

With his back on the ground and his hair messed up, Sasuke just continued to look at Naruto as if he looked into his soul. "Let me make this clear for you. My childish game with you leafs are over, go home" His voice saddened as his voice got lower when he said that. He didn't want to kill Naruto for a pointless reason even if they were friends. He only sought out what would bring him power, an one who has given him power, Orochimaru. He just wanted one answer from Naruto as he looked to his side with the cursed mark eye looking at him. So do I get any stronger staying with those 'comrades'" He grabbed Naruto's collar and awaited his answer.

[Naruto Uzumaki]

While Naruto was in the air he completely went into the flashbacks of him and Sasuke that he had. The moment he landed on Sasuke he woke up and sat straight, his left hand grabbed Sasuke’s collar. His eyes looked straight into his. His anger grew within seconds, Naruto felt to angry that he couldn’t care less if Sasuke punched him now. Naruto didn’t even try to dodge his spit. As his spit collided with his face Naruto wiped it off with his sleeve and with angry expression punched Sasuke a few times with his right hand. Naruto took deep breathes as he continued to land rapid punches on Sasuke’s face. He couldn’t bare look into those cold emotionless eyes, his comments about their friends and comrades cut like blades. It was as if all they did, all the trouble they faced and all the opponents they fought, all the adventures they had it was as if Sasuke couldn’t care less. Was this the real him? Naruto has never seen him like this, the cold expression on his face completely destroyed Naruto. Sasuke didn’t even had to move a muscle Naruto was hurt

He held back his tears with an angry face and angry eyes. What did this have to do with Naruto? That question was so cold that Naruto now used his both hands to grab Sasuke’s collar and pulled Sasuke closer to his face “What does this have to do with me?! Nothing! Nothing at all, but I won’t stand aside and let you hurt Sakura, I won’t stand aside and let you destroy yourself!”Sasuke asked Naruto if he was getting stronger staying with his comrades. Wasn’t he? He had gotten so much stronger in these past few months. Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, all of them they’ve gotten so strong that they could surpass a Jounin. Naruto then punched him again “Bastard! So was this all to you?! Just a game?! All these months we’ve spent as team seven was nothing to you?! It was just a game?!” Naruto clenched his teeth as he groaned loudly and slammed Sasuke back to the ground “And you think Orochimaru will make you stronger? He could care less about you, your just another vessel to him, he’ll kill you and take your body!” Naruto wanted to punch him again but resisted.

Naruto the grabbed his collar more tightly and shouted “I won’t let you throw your life away!” if not for Sasuke then for Sakura. He was going to bring him back to Konoha. Naruto lifted him up by his collar closer to his face again and loudly proclaimed with an angry tone “Your coming back to Konoha, conscious or not!” He then looked straight into his friends eyes, the yellow eye freaked him out first but he now knew what Sasuke really thought about everyone and how he really felt.

[Uchiha Sasuke]

Sasuke started to laugh as he got punched. "I don't care what you decide to complain about, idiot. I'm going to Orochimaru." He only seemed to care about his objectives, but what else was their for him to care about. That same grin that spread across his face appeared once more, he didn't care if Naruto, or Sakura wanted to stop him, Sasuke's mind was set, he needed no home nor comrades. "Naruto if you want to stop me fight me once more, since it was interrupted before." He put force into his grip around Naruto's collar, lifting himself to his feet and holding him in the air. "Why the hell should I care about a dumbass?"

He let go of Naruto and brought a strong right punch to the center of his stomach, punching Naruto once and leaving him floating in the air til he hit the waterfall. Sasuke was overwhelmed with that he just saw and could only question himself. What is this power? The powers coming from within, he thought. "Ugh." The curse mark started to recede and brought a sudden shock of pain as it did. He knew what Orochimaru gave him was something great, but to be this great was amazing. The color of the curse mark left his eye, and face. He started to act and sound like Orochimaru when he found new power, all Sasuke could do was laugh in an evil way.

"So this is the power that Orochimaru spoke of, the power is synchronizing with my body, this is amazing." He thought about how much would it be when he were to release full power, the ecstasy from releasing only a little was intense. He embraced the power so far, he thought how much farther he could get with this power, could he kill his brother, kill the emptiness inside himself, or kill a pesky brat who never knew when to mind his own business. As long as Naruto was their for him to sample his new power he didn't care whether he killed him or not. "Come on Naruto, I know you wouldn't die from just one punch, come test my limits!" He was enraged with this power flowing through, as he waited for Naruto he spit the blood in his out on the ground from him being punched.

[Naruto Uzumaki]

Naruto gasped as Sasuke displayed his power by lifting the young blonde ninja with one hand into the air. Naruto moved his feet trying to the ground and couldn’t break out; he grabbed Sasuke’s hand in an attempt to break it off from his jumpsuit. But it was useless; Sasuke had such strength and such power that Naruto could feel it by just being held by him, he had no hope of breaking out. Sasuke seemingly released Naruto and the blonde jinchuuriki was already getting into a stance while he was floating in the air but he didn’t even react as in mere seconds Sasuke powerful punched pierced his stomach and sent him flying. As his hit connected Naruto felt so much pain and hatred, there was no way he could block that attack and he hated himself for it. He opened his mouth in a loud gasp of pain “Ugh!” as Sasuke’s hit sent him flying towards the river.

He bounced like a pebble on the rivers surface. Hitting the water three times before he actually dived into the water, it was painful. It was like hitting concrete. As started drowning deeper into the water his face twitched and his eyes opened, he fell unconscious for a second. But when his eyes opened they started filling with water, he felt as the current started pulling him towards the waterfall. Naruto reacted to Sasuke’s taunt and with all of his force Naruto leaped from the water into the sky. His eyes immediately locked onto Sasuke, he started concentrating chakra into his feet and landed on the waters surface as if it was not water but land. He started running in full speed towards Sasuke throwing three kunai knives at him. Running he shouted loudly “Sasuke!” the moments with Sasuke in team seven flashed in front of his eyes, he didn’t know if he could beat Sasuke, but he promised Sakura he would so now he at least needed to try.

[Uchiha Sasuke]

Sasuke just stood on top Uchiha Madara's statue and smirked; watching Naruto hit the water so easily was kind of funny. He always seemed stronger than Sasuke. Why? Where did his strength come from? Sasuke didn't know of the Nine-tail fox's existence inside of Naruto.

Sasuke wasn't pleased with the outcome of their last fight. Why did Kakashi have to stop it? But what bothered him more was the outcome of the rasengan. Was Naruto stronger than him now though, was all on his mind. He couldn't help but feel the urge to pound his face in. While those thoughts circulated his head he suddenly remembered what his brother said, for Sasuke to gain the Mangekyou Sharingan he would have to kill his best friend.

At that point and time Sasuke thought it was a perfect idea, but he hated following in his brother's footsteps. Was their more ways to obtain this power of Mangekyou though; he couldn't decide. When Naruto stood back up and ran towards him throwing kunai’s, Sasuke grabbed on his shuriken/kunai holster and grabbed on three kunai’s; throwing them back making them all fall. He started running down the statue eyeing Naruto; sharingan on.

”Naruto!!” He jumped off the statue propelling him in Naruto’s direction. He grabbed hold of one of the falling kunai and held it in his hand. After grabbing hold of the kunai midst propelling, he landed on top the water surface. He generated enough chakra to keep himself balanced while he ran. His smirked rose back to the side of his face as he laughed a menacing laugh.

[Naruto Uzumaki]

Naruto looked straight into the person him once considered a friend and comrade and most of his strongest rival. Right now they were in dead lock, Naruto didn’t want to believe that Sasuke would actually try to kill him, he didn’t want to give in into the shallow existence and belief that a person he once called his friend was now trying to kill him.

In his mind Naruto tried to believe that Sasuke was doing this against his own will. Naruto rushed towards Sasuke with his full speed thinking of nothing but how to land a hit on Sasuke “That’s right! Keep your sharingan on me! I wouldn’t want you to miss a thing when I hit you with my way of the shinobi” he shouted as he threw another kunai at Sasuke from his pouch and continue to rush in full speed.

When he was a few steps away Naruto sent rights punch aiming for Sasuke’s face. Although his might not work because Sasuke had the sharingan Naruto just need a few more seconds to tap into the Kyuubi chakra and start a horde of shadow clones.

Cut my life into pieces. I've reached my last resort, suffocation, no breathing. Don't give a f*ck if I cut my arm bleeding. Do you even care if I die bleeding? Would it be wrong, would it be right, if I took my life tonight? Chances are that I might. Mutilation out of sight, and I'm contemplating suicide.

As the kunai headed in his direction he jumped in the air. He looked down at Naruto and threw his kunai in his hand. He threw the kunai to distract Naruto while he made his hand seals, as he finished he held in his breath and blew out a giant ball of flames at him. “Katon: Gōkakyu no Jutsu” He held his hand to his mouth as he watched the spherical ball of fire head in Naruto’s direction. He knew Naruto loved close combat, so he tried to stay a distance for now. When he finished his jutsu, he spun himself, diverting all axis’s on his body and landed a few feet away from the idiot. “Show me what you got Naruto! You don’t want to let Sakura down, or is it that you just can’t handle yourself now. I pity you for trying!” He yelled as he truly pitied him.

Why did Naruto try so hard to bring him back? He had no intention in returning to the village, yet this one ninja kept trying. It was a pain in the ass, even if they were rivals . . . to an extent. Sasuke couldn’t help but be reminded of all the times he fought with him, all the training they went through. But, Sasuke couldn’t stand the fact that he was inferior to Naruto, in strength. He was saved so many time, nearly died twice, but unable to stop his foes. How did Naruto beat them? Why, couldn’t he have beaten them instead? It made him angry further, but he kept his cool and showed no emotion, but the corruption in how far he was absorbed in power. He put his hand back in his ninja pouch and grabbed out some wire he had left. Hopefully Naruto was fully prepared for what’s next, he was.

He ran on a side angle to face his back, it would be easier that way. As he ran he thought it would be better to pummel Naruto to the ground, so he ran towards him while putting the wire back in his pocket. “You should be glad that I’m testing this new found power on you. I wouldn’t have it any other way, since you’re my rival. But Naruto, please try to keep up, if you don’t this fight won’t last very long. Let me show you my hate that my brother bestowed on me!” He continued heading in as he smirked. But he still wanted to know Naruto’s true reason for coming here and fighting him. Why? Even if Sasuke couldn’t do anything to finish this in one blow right from the get go, he still wanted to avoid any unnecessary bloodshed, since he didn’t want to follow in his brother’s footsteps.

His existence is for one thing only, killing his brother, the family member who destroyed his clan. In order to win this fight against this idiot, he started imagining it was Itachi he faced. This pushed him even further, as he continued to rush in at full speed. He was ready to throw a right hook in Naruto’s jaw. The smirk on his face dimmed down, he had to focus on not slipping, or it would be bad for him if Naruto got a few good blows on him. His sharingan span as he was fixated on locking on to him. Naruto wanted him to pay attention, and he had fully thought of doing that. This was their last fight, who knows when they would see each other again, if ever. All he could do was engrave this last bit of friendship into his heart.

Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie.
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me."

I never realized I was spread too thin 'til it was too late and I was empty within. Hungry, feeding on chaos, and living in sin. Downward spiral, where do I begin? It all started when I lost my mother. No love for myself, and no love for another. Searching to find love up on a higher level, finding nothing but questions and devils.
