Physical Description
Shino stands at 175.1 cm and he weighs around 56.6 kg, underneath his coat he is actually quite muscular and has few scars due to his clan jutsu's. His eyes are dark brown and he his hair is short and spiky, it is also dark brown like his eyes. His skin tone has, due to little exposure to the sun, turned quite pale. It does however harbor quite an unusual ability, his skin can open in order to release the bugs which he plays host to.

Clothing Description
Shino wears three layers overall. The first consists of a black shirt with no sleeves and black trousers, bandages run up his legs and he wears black ninja sandals on his feet. He has a hidden kunai on his left leg in case of emergencies or situations when he can't use his bugs, which is highly rare. The second layer of his clothing is made up of a black coat which ends just below his waist and covers most of his face, barring his eyes which are hidden by black glasses. The final layer which Shino wears is his green coat, it has large pockets and he never zips it up due to never actually being cold as a result of all his clothes. He also wears a green bag to keep his bug collecting gear in at all times.

Personality:

Shino is very confident in himself and his abilities, he is sure of his decisions and rarely changes his mind about something. A calm and cool attitude plays a large part of it, the reason for it is simple, if he was panicky the insects he plays host to would pick up on his nerves and would be less likely to keep up their end of the bargain by helping the Aburame in battle. However, his calmness about everything annoys Kiba due to the fact that the Inuzuka believes he should be leader of the squad. This position belongs to no-one, but the bug-wielder is normally the one who plays the role when it is necessary. The reason for this is that he is in tune with his team-mates all of the time, capable of picking up the slightest problem. The Aburame can be very supportive to his team-mates, especially Hinata.

The insect lover has a strange way of speaking, always stating a question given to him before giving an answer, most of the time with another question. He is also very grammatically correct with his speech and others often find him strange. Another reason for them to find him creepy is his love of bugs, he is always preventing others from harming insects, even ants. He carries this respect onto his opponents in battle, normally refraining from shouting out insults. The only exception for this is Kiba and only when both boys are in a bad mood.

The Chuunin has mixed feelings about his clan and family, on one hand he is happy to have a family and a place to call home but on the other he is curious as to what happened to his Mother, which has yet to be revealed to him. He cares for his Mother a lot but wishes she would tell him what happened, he sometimes also has feeling like he is being lied to due to the fact that all he was told at the time was that she was sick, and that was from his Mother as the clan chose not to get involved. The mixed feelings about his clan come from their secretive nature, at times they are an actual family, like a colony of ants, but at others they act like spiders, never really being close to or open with each-other.

History:

Shino was born on the 23rd of January 16 years ago. His Mother didn't carry the bloodline which his Father did but the pair had fallen in love and that was all that mattered. Upon the birth of their child, his Mother agreed to allow her son to become host to the insects of his Fathers clan, the Aburame. She did this as she wanted her son to be as strong as his Father and she had always liked bugs, another reason for her falling in love with Shino's Father, and hoped her child could also develop a love and respect for the tiny creatures.

Over the first five years of his life, Shino developed a love of insects and he often went to play in the forest just to see the diverse little creatures. He was however a less excitable child than most and over time he became more and more emotionless. This was common in his clan so no-one thought anything of it. He started the Academy at age 7 and graduated at the age of 12. During this time Shino's Father started teaching him all he could about the clan and bugs, how to best use them in combat and most importantly to respect them or else they wouldn't hold up their side of the bargain and help the Aburame boy in combat. The young boy felt very close to the diverse little things and he also developed a protective side over them, preventing, when he could, someone from stepping on even the most insignificant ant.

Among the more painful things that happened in his time at the Academy was that his Mother was injured on a mission and nearly died, however, Shino was never told what had happened. All he knew was that "I was sick". This was the only time in his young life he had ever felt truly betrayed and scared, he was even more upset that neither his Mother nor his Father revealed what had happened to him. He felt shut out and untrusted. Of course his Mother hadn't meant for him to feel this way, she had actually been trying to prevent feelings of fear, worry and anxiousness, only succeeding in making it worse.

The day of the graduation exam was one of the few times that nerves hit Shino, it took him longer to get to school on the day as he was too busy thinking about what would happen if he didn't pass. When he finally arrived and sat in his seat he calmed himself down and when it was his turn to do the "test" he walked in with confidence and out with a big smile hid behind his collar, another rare show of emotion that he would from now on experience less and less. The next day when teams were assigned he felt neither happy nor disappointed, just felt like he would have to carry the team a little. When it came time for the actual test, their team-work nearly failed completely, Kiba wanting to take the lead and Hinata being too shy. The insect-wielder was annoyed by the Inuzuka's attitude yet encouraging of the Hyuuga. They managed to pass however purely because they managed to pull off their task of finding and attacking several hidden targets.

Over the following month the new Team 8 carried out many many simple missions such as baby-sitting and finding a run-away cat. It appeared the mad kitty had a reason to keep getting "lost" as several of the Genin teams had to find it several times. Shino didn't mind the baby-sitting much, so long as one of the little children didn't squash a bug at any point. Then he would be quiet upset in his mind and ask the child why they did it, all the while gaining strange looks from people. Though, most of children always wanted to know about butterflies and lady-birds. The thing that annoyed Shino most was walking dogs, he found it very monotonous, his team-mates loved it though, especially Kiba, Hinata also found all the canines cute, only inflating the Inuzuka's ego.

Eventually, the time for the Chuunin exam came around. Kurenai recommended her Genin for it and all three signed the forms. Shino was rather surprised that all nine rookies had shown up for the exam but decided that it didn't really effect him and just left them alone. The first exam was easy enough for the Aburame, he used his bugs to cheat, having figured out the true purpose of the test rather quickly. Team 8 passed both the first and second exams, though Shino was disappointed to not be able to have more of a challenge. Considering that the scroll they needed had basically been handed to the trio on a silver plate.

Upon arriving at the tower in the center of the forest Shino rested and waited for the time limit to expire, all the while thinking of the disappointment he and his family would feel if he failed the last part of the exam. He felt for the second time in his life, extremely nervous but as he stood in the hall with the other Genin he pushed it behind him, listening as they were told what would happen next. A prelimanary was to be held. One of the Genin, Kabuto, pulled out, Shino found this strange but watched the screen on the wall none the less. When it came time for his fight, the Aburame walked into the "arena" to face his opponent, only to find it was a severely injured Sound-Ninja. He warned his opponent, Zaku, not to fight but the other boy didn't heed his warning. The bug-wielder found himself fighting against his one-armed opponent, until eventually his insects won the match for him, blocking the holes in Zaku's hands, preventing his attacks. After, he, rather than thanking them for their support, informed his team-mates that he expected them to win their matches as well. He wanted them to stay focused.

At the end of the prelimanaries Shino was disappointed that his team-mates had both lost their fights and been knocked out of the final matches, it was then he decided to help Hinata with her training as much as possible so that next time she would do better. Opponents for the final round where decided by drawing number from a hat, the Aburame was matched up with a ninja from the Sand Village, Kankuro. Over the next month, the final round taking time to organise, Shino trained and trained for his upcoming match, determined to do his best.

The day of the final round came faster than anyone could have expected and as he stood in the Arena waiting for the fights to start, the bug-wielder felt nervous for a few moments before he returned to his confident state of mind. He wasn't surprised that Naruto was late considering he had been late most days when they used to go to the Academy, but him ranting about a herd of bulls was something Shino brushed off as stupidity on the hyper boys half. Due to the Uzumaki boy being late, the exam started late and Shino had become rather bored, causing his to be happy inside when the matches finally started.

Shino was completely calm when he was called for his match but then he was annoyed inside when his opponent forefitted the fight, leaving the bug-wielder to win by default. Not too long after, Sasuke arrived, just on time, for his fight. The Aburame had expected the Uchiha to show up and was just as interested as to how his match with the sand ninja, Gaara, would turn out. However, no-one got to see as the invasion of the Leaf Village began 10 minutes into the expectedly long fight.

When a Genjutsu fell on the Arena he managed to get out of it and ended up fighting Kankuro anyway, the Sand village had betrayed the leaf! During the fight, the young bug-wielder was poisoned, only to be saved by his father.

Some time after the incedent the Uchiha, Sasuke, left the village and Shino just happened to be on a mission with his father, causing him to be left out of the retrieval attempt. He did however learn what happened upon his return and questioned Kiba on the whole thing.

A few months later, the Genin Naruto left the village to train and Shino too started an intense training period with his father. Over the next two years he improved drastically, picking up many new techniques and strategies, also managing to raise to the rank of Chuunin.

~ Bug Jar Technique/Wall of Insects Jutsu [Mushi Kame no Jutsu] :: This jutsu uses the Kikaichū bugs living in the user's body as a shield by having them fly in a dome shape at high speed. The dome is strong enough to destroy incoming attacks, but can be disrupted with sufficient explosive force.

~ Destruction Bug Host Technique/Parasitic Insects Jutsu [Kikaichū no Jutsu] :: The Aburame clan is famed for their use of insects in their jutsu. When a child is born, their body is offered to insects, called destruction bugs, as a nest. The bugs feed and live off the chakra that the body stores and in return the ninja gets to control and command the bugs, using them as their primary fighting technique. These bugs have the ability to drain chakra through physical contact with the enemy.

~ Secret Technique: Insect Sphere [Hijutsu: Mushidama] :: By using the destruction bugs, members of the Aburame clan surround their opponent with thousands of bugs, making a globe of bugs around the opponent beforehand to completely trap them. Once trapped, the bugs would normally drain the chakra and swallow their victim. The bugs covering the victims body prevent movement, but should they escape the bugs will follow them.

~ Secret Technique: Insect Cocoon [Hijutsu: Mushi Miyu] :: This unique jutsu is a secret technique that allows the user to increase the speed of insects' development. As the user's body is already a hive of sorts for the insects, the user will encase himself in an actual cocoon to further aid the insects. This is an extremely useful move for Aburame clan members, since their attacks mainly focus on the usage of bugs. However, using this in the midst of a battle can be potentially dangerous as it leaves the user static and vulnerable.

The flapping of wings in the trees shocked the winged insect and it flew off, not wanting to see what had made the noise. Turning his hood covered head toward the sky he saw a medium sized bird fly out of the trees, catching said bug in its beak. Sighing he turned to his left and started walking, green coat catching the breeze, he had been searching for that type of insect all morning and now it was some pigeons breakfast. Not the best way to start your day. Dark auburn eyes scanned the multitude of emerald leaves and bark covered trees, looking for another insect he could catch. All movement of his eyes was hidden behind the black glasses which covered them. Not seeing any bugs in the area he moved on, being careful not to tread on any of the snails on the forest floor. The rain last night had drawn them out and Shino could see empty shells where birds had succeeded in catching the slow things.

The teen was camouflaged as he made his way slowly through the foliage, searching constantly for insects to collect, never losing concentration. He had been walking for around half an hour when a small buzzing reached his ears. Turning his hooded head, th Aburame spotted a small winged beetle. Reaching out, he cupped it in his hands before placing it carefully into a jar, holes in the top allowed the tiny bug to breath. Maybe today hadn't been a complete waste of time afterall. Just a few seconds later, he heard another noise, that of rain rolling in "Rain? Strange, I wasn't expecting rain today." He mumbled to himself as he headed back towards the village.

Inside its large walls, people had already started putting their umbrellas up, Shino however kept moving, he had to get his new insect home and into a dry environment. If it started raining now the liquid would seep through the holes in the jar and the creature would die. Picking up his pace, sandal clad feet tapped against the sandy path as he turned into where his family lived. A small area of wood hid the house and Shino smiled as he walked through the many green plants and into his house. The door slid open and he sighed as his feet hit the wooden floor just as the clouds dumped their load.
