Oh no, oh no, I've been found out! Hanabi's brain was on absolute overdrive as she moved with an uncanny speed out of the trees and back to the road, deactivating her Byakugan once she reached the edge. She didn't want to face the scary wrath of her cousin Neji... No, oh hell no. But she needed to get this beautiful tidbit of information out to someone... and she knew exactly who.
Coming on to the streets, she tried to remember the route to the Yamanaka Flower Shop... And happily skipped her way there, humming. She'd been given a few hours off of training, which meant she had free time to basically do what she wanted... Without getting herself murdered by a specific Hyuuga, of course. Her older sister was much too passive to become angry with any spying she did... And it was much funnier to annoy her rather soft-spoken yet hidden-anger cousin with things. Hinata just stuttered, blushed, and sometimes fainted at the mention of Naruto. Neji, however, just told her to go away... And it was only fuel for the fire.
Finally reaching the place, she skipped into the open door, still humming happily, to see Ino working the counter. This was great! Yamanaka Ino was probably the biggest gossip... It was a wonder what you could find out from eavesdropping on conversations between different people. And she knew Ino was in cahoots with Sakura... Which made things even better. Sakura could make a nice defender should her cousin and his new girlfriend come after her. Oh, Hanabi was such a smart cookie! She totally deserved a cookie, that was for sure.
"Psst! Ino-chan!" Hanabi's cute little voice piped up as she glanced around mischeviously. "From what I hear... You like gossip... Huh?" Hanabi's arms were crossed, a devilish and mischievous look cast across her face. Well... She'd share information with Ino. The girl was nice, from what she could tell... And she'd get it all out fast. "I have... Information," she said in a detective-like voice... One could tell this whole ordeal was a game for her. She was working on her espionage skills! Of course, this was her less serious side, and her more playful side... When it came down to things, Hanabi knew when to be serious. That time... Was now. Her demeanor changed almost completely as she spoke.
"I have information on Neji-niisan and Tenten-chan. And some really juicy stuff, too!"

::Yamanaka Meushi:: This morning Meushi was filled with more pep then she usually was. Earlier this morning she had gotten a rather nice surprise from her parents concerning her work today. There was no training today, and there wasn’t much to do in the flower fields either. So they had decided that it would be a nice gesture if Meushi headed over to the flower shop to help out her older cousin Ino. Besides, now that Meushi was a full-fledged ninja, the Chuunin Yamanaka could help her out some with tips and what not. By the time they had finished telling her, Meushi was halfway out the door.
Wanting to show off her new status as a Genin to her cousin, Meushi decided to bring along some of her ninja gear. Sitting nice and tight on her forehead where everyone could see was her Konoha headband. She normally didn’t wear it there, preferring to have it around her waist, but she wanted it to be the first thing Ino saw once Meushi walked in the door. On her waist was also her flower petal bag, recently refilled after the battle with Taiyo Inuzuka. Just one of the many advantages to living in a field of flowers, which included the lovely flower scent she had on her. Since she doubted Taiyo would be around, she felt no need to hide it.
That battle, however, still left some marks on her. Her arm was still sore from the scratches, which, while faint, could be seen on her arm. About the only other ‘trophies’ from the battle included some minor scrapes and bruises, and a really sore wrist. That last one was her own fault though since she did throw those petal shuriken like a madman after he had Myou pee on her. She had to scrub that arm for hours before she felt clean. Meushi wasn’t so sure if she should leave that part out or not when she retold the tale to the older Yamanaka. It was kind of embarrassing once you thought about it.
Without the aid of a map, Meushi could almost always tell you exactly how to get to the shop from any location in Konoha. Between her idolizing of Ino to various deliveries to the shop from the fields, Meushi had the route down. So it didn’t take long at all for her to get there, though upon reaching it she found a surprise. Inside she could see the figure of her fellow Team 6 teammate Hanabi. It was a surprise to see her, but even more surprising was that she looked all bubbly and bursting with energy. Most of the time Meushi spent with her in the Academy was spent in the presence of a girl who was more serious about being a ninja than the instructors were. It was actually a refreshing change of pace.
Deciding to play a little with her, Meushi slowly opened the door so as to be as quiet as possible. Sliding into the store, she shut the door again quietly and slowly tiptoed till she was right behind the girl. Looking up, she saw Ino was there and made sure to give the girl a signal to be quiet. This would only work with the older girl remained cooperative. She waited for Hanabi to finish speaking, mentioning that she had some juicy stuff about Neji and TenTen, people that Meushi knew of but hadn’t met.. Even if Meushi wasn’t the gossip queen like Ino was, she was just as much interested in it as her. Not like she could use anything out of it. Though depending on how things went, knowing who started the rumors that were bound to come from this might be helpful.
With an evil little grin on her face, Meushi almost jumped at Hanabi, wrapping her arms around her neck and letting them just hang right in front of her. She placed her head on the girl’s shoulders, smiling like an idiot as she talked.
”Some juicy gossip, huh? Well, stop holding back on us and spill it out already Hanabi”

Wrapping the apron around her waist, usually it would have been the first thing she had done as soon as she set foot inside the store, but today she was in abit of a daze, all sighing like. Throughout most of the morning Ino had been gliding around the shop, watering what needed to be watered and arranging different bouquets til they seemed perfect enough for other's eyes, Ino saw herself as a perfectionist when it came to flowers, they always needed to look more beautiful than they really are, well on there own.
While picking and placing each flower into her correct placement, her mind seemed to wander through the recent events, some made her heart flutter and melt at the though and other's made her wan to laugh out loud, but seeing as there was already people in the store it would only make Ino look like abit of a loon if she suddenly started to laugh, even if the thought of that happening was funny, she still didn't want anyone to look at her anyway than the stunning girl that sold flowers.
"Meushi is coming to the store today..." Ino spoke out loud, just suddenly remembering, a small smirk spread across her lips at the thought. There was nothing Ino didn't love best than having a little sidekick of her own, and maybe she would help liven up this flower shop alittle more, sure Ino's radiance lightened the mood alittle ut just having her working on her own made her feel alittle lonely even if she loved her work, she was doing a good service for Konoha, a life without flowers...was a life without color.
Moving back behind the counter, about to pull out one of the old magazines she had kept in the cupboard below, just incase the store was empty, but as Ino pulled the handle a familiar voice caught her ears.Looking up above the counter she met eyes with no one other than Hanabi. "Huh? Information you say?" Ino stood up straight now, leaning forward so her elbows hit the counter while holding her head in her hands. "Neji and Tenten? Do tell..." Ino's smiled turned to a smirk, when it came down to gossip, it meant business.
About to hurry Hanabi up with the information, Ino spotted a flash of yellow in the corner of her eye, Hmm..? Then Meushi came into view, Ino was a split second away from shouting a warm greeting but abruptly stopped when she saw the signal. Nodding sleight in a sly way, her attention turned back to Hanabi, trying to play it as cool as she could. It was all to obvious what her cousin was up too.
And just like Ino had thought, Meushi had practically latched herself upon the poor Hanabi, eager to her the gossip as much as Ino was, It was easy to see that both Ino and Meushi was alike partly in looks but also personality wise. "Hmm, So are you gonna spill? Or is there a catch?"

Hanabi squeaked slightly in her bright little voice as Meushi suddenly appeared out of nowhere and leaped on her... It made her jump, nonetheless, but the more people she told, the better~ and Meushi was her friend, sort of... She could consider her such, right? They got along... Mostly.
"Well, there iiiiiiis a bit of a catch," Hanabi said, locking her hands behind her back and rocking on her feet. "You can't ever say where you heard it from, ever! Otherwise Neji-niisan will chase me down!" Hanabi warned, her pupil-less lavender eyes wide with what she was saying. It was obvious that Neji, if he knew, would come and find her all right... and probably Tenten, too. That was the perils of being a spy...
"However, on to the juicy details..!" The Hyuuga girl stated, then quickly looked around. Forming a single seal, she checked to the edge of her radius with the Byakugan, released the Doujutsu, and continued. "I haven't gotten absolute solid proof of any of it, but... Oh, it's just so cute! Neji-niisan was having a really bad day, because last night at that dance thingy, Tenten-chan totally fainted on him! So, he got Sakura-san and Sakura-san told him it was that saaaame nasty flu that's been going around; the same one I happened to have not that long ago! So then, Sakura-san told Neji-niisan to take Tenten-chan home and keep an eye on her... Aaaaaall night!" Hanabi exclaimed, her voice bright but not very loud. It was obvious that she was absolutely thrilled with the information she'd heard.
"So after that, Obaasan was really really worried about him, soo I went to visit her this morning, guessing that Neji-niisan was with Tenten-chan... Low and behold, he shows up with Tenten-chan, looking quite distraught about the day! After that, Tenten-chan explained everything that happened, not to mention sheepishly adding that Neji-niisan's lip was split when he tried to catch her! Such a romantic thing, don't you think?" Hanabi seemed to be off in her own little world... This was the little girl that hid behind that professional mask that Meushi had seen. She was a little gossip and a cute little girl at heart.
"So after all that, they both left - after Neji-niisan changed into some proper clothing - and I decided, because Daifusan gave me the morning off from training, that I would follow them... Because I was suspicious! Neji-niisan then said something really funny that made Tenten-chan laugh, and I'm not entirely sure what it was, but after that, she hugged him! Probably because he was having such a terrible, terrible day. And what was the cute part? He hugged her back! And then she started going on and on and on about something, which got really boring... Until suddenly..." Hanabi paused, both for emphasis and to add a break to her long-winded speech. She was babbling on and on and on... But that was what gossip was, now wasn't it? Aw, hell, why not re-tell the story?
"Tenten-chan professed her love to him! Oh, it was so cute! And then, the absolute cutest - and ew, disgusting much? - thing happened! It was like both of them were frozen in time, then he reached up to her face with a single hand, tilted her chin up, aaaaand... HE KISSED HER! Hehehe!" Hanabi bounced up and down in excited giggles, both hands folded in a cute gesture in front of her. "It was a really long one, too... Blech! So gross! But it was cute, and soooooo romantic! So now I think they're officially a couple," Hanabi stated thoughtfully, looking up and to the right as she thought about it.
"Now how's that for juicy gossip?"

::Yamanaka Meushi:: Meushi couldn’t help but grin as Ino decided to play along with Meushi’s plan. Five seconds later she felt it was worth it as the Hyuuga girl squeaked in surprise and jumped. Sneaking up on someone like her was an accomplishment. Besides, her reaction was rather adorable. It just wasn’t something she had expected from someone who always seemed so serious back in the Academy. This bubbly, excited, and gossipy girl before her was much more preferable to the cold and professional Hanabi she knew of.
Now that the glomping was over with, Meushi let the Hyuuga girl go and headed over to the counter. Normally she would have given Ino a good morning or something, but she was much more interested in listening to this juicy gossip. Good mornings were always placed on the back burner when someone had gossip. She leaned up against the counter and crossed her arms, grinning a little as Hanabi started to speak.
Right off the back she warned them not to tell anyone their source since Neji would chase her down. Meushi filed that in the back of the head, hoping that maybe she’d get the chance to use that as some sort of blackmail. Then again, from what she had heard Neji was supposed to be a rather intelligent guy (he was a Jonin, wasn’t he?), so he’d probably figure it out eventually. Still, wouldn’t hurt to have a little something on the Hyuuga girl, would it?
Whatever this was about, it had to deal with the dance that was being held. That held a pretty good clue as to what was going to happen. Apparently Neji had a bad day of sorts, and that simply snowballed into having to stay over at this TenTen girl’s house all night long. That alone would have been pretty good gossip, what with all those romantic undertones, among other things. Meushi would have popped in right then and there if Hanabi hadn’t started up again.
The story started to get rolling as Neji and TenTen began to talk about the events at this dance, and having what sounded like a rather interesting stroll in the morning. All culminating into a hug between the two of them. By now Meushi was hooked, and dropped her arms as she leaned in a little during the dramatic pause. Hanabi was an excellent gossiper, and with that Byakugan of hers she could get a wide range of sight that was perfect for spying on developing couples. It would be good to have her along for these little gossip missions.
Hanabi knew how to end a story that was for sure. All that tension and buildup ended up culminating in a rather long kiss by the sound of it. Admittedly she was excited about it more than Meushi was, but that was probably because she actually knew the people involved. There was a rather nice sized grin on Meushi’s face though as she leaned back onto the counter and crossed her arms again.
”That is pretty good Hanabi. I never expected you to be the gossipy type though. You always seemed so serious back at the Academy. I have to say I rather like this personality much better.”
Since that was now out of the way, Meushi could get on to some of her own business.
”Anyway, it sounds like your cousin is having a good time with this TenTen. They sound like they’ll be a pretty good couple to keep an eye on. Hey Ino,”she turned towards her older cousin with a grin,”How’s your love life been? Seeing anyone lately?”

Listen as I speak 'cause I'm careful as I creep. No fortune, your moves, and you hypnotize me. Ino laughed heartily as her cousin seemed to startle the Hanabi, standing with them, Ino couldn't help but feel real grown up, to them she could be someone to look up too. The thought made her happy and determined to be the best role model, well for the time being anyway. Hanabi was alot different than her sister Hinata, sure Ino wasn't really that close with Hinata, but she knew her long enough to understand her traits, and ones she wasn't particularly fond of, too shy and to nice but overall Ino liked her, not everyone could be like Ino.
"Catch? I knew it" Ino frowned, making sure she didn't hold it for too long, too much of that caused frown lines, which wasn't a pretty sight, like some people she knew, but Ino would never name them out loud. Tsunade. Trying to shake the image out of her head, Ino couldn't help but feel alittle bad, Tsunade did look fairly good for her age, compared to most people in this village around her age. Finally Ino returned back to the matter at hand, the juicy gossip that Hanabi had in store. "Okay, I...we..promise not to tell a soul where we came to obtain this interesting information." Ino looked to wards Meushi for a moment, her bubbly exterior showing through.
Listening intently to every word that came rushing out from the young hyuuga's mouth, every syllable, Ino would memorize every thing, there was no way in hell that she would forget any gossip as good as this. Ino wasn't that close to Neji or Tenten but it doesn't mean she couldn't know some of there utt most secrets. She was son to reach her goal, to know at least one person's dirty secret which she can easily hold against them if the time ever came.
"Ohmygosh!!" Ino began to bounce up and down too, while clapping her hands excitedly, sure it was cute on the little Hanabi but on Ino, well it made her look alittle stupid but oh well, she would deal with that later right now she was all too excited about this right now. "I always thought they'd make a good couple! I cant believe it they are so cute together!!" Ino laughed, whenever she saw Tenten she would totally give her the thumbs up, without telling her why, that way, Ino could be cruel about it.
It sounded so romantic, the way he tilted her chin up and kissed her! So sweet ! Even if the way Hanabi told it was real quick and the added 'eww's' did seem to add alittle more ompf to the tale. "Thanks for sharing Hanabi," She smiled before agreeing with Meushi, Hanabi's bubbly gossip gal personality was totally more likable.
Ino turned to her cousin, at the sound of her name, and then the question of her love life only made her blush a deep shade of red. "Uhh...Yes, actually i'm currently seeing Kiba Inuzuka.."

[[Couldn't help it, lol, we needed a fourth gossip.]]
At Meushi's comment about her different sort of 'personality', Hanabi couldn't help but pipe up to answer the comment. "No, I just like to bug and tease Neji-niisan... And Hinata-neechan, too!" Hanabi stated, a bold and confident look on her face. Yes, she was the perfect annoying little cousin... Of course, she could be serious when she wanted to, but at this point, there just wasn't anything to be absolutely point-blank serious about [at least not in Hanabi's case]. Hanabi nodded fruitfully as Ino went on about them being a cute couple, and the young Hyuuga couldn't help but agree.
"Yes, yes! They're so cute, and so romantic! I bet Neji-niisan blushed! Sadly, I can't tell with my Byakugan, so..." Hanabi hung her head as if she were sad that she hadn't been able to see it. Anyone would be, especially to see the absolutely serious Hyuuga Neji being a bit tickled pink. "But Neji-niisan looked really nervous, because Tenten-chan kept dodging the issue!" As Meushi brought up the question about whether Ino was seeing anybody or not, footsteps sounded behind them, from a rather satisfied-looking rose-haired kunoichi.
"Ino-pig!" Sakura chorused, waving slightly to her friend. Sakura was the only one that could call Ino by that name and not be brutally murdered... It was a thing they had. "Oi, do I smell gossip?" Sakura said, having heard the mention of Kiba. "And you owe me one, I told him what to get you!" the rosette stated, walking over as she stretched upwards slightly. She was dressed casually now, having run home to change out of her normal outfit... She wore the same red top, but had a yellow t-shirt underneath it, and was wearing a navy-blue skirt.
"Neji-san's an ass when he wants to be," Sakura muttered, mostly directing the statement at his younger cousin that was standing there. "Did you hear what he said to me last night? God, men are so dense sometimes," Sakura lamented, looking at Ino as she said it. The Yamanaka girl would understand what she was getting at... The boy that Sakura herself was gunning for, Uzumaki Naruto, was probably the worst of them all... At times, Sakura wasn't even sure why she was looking for him in the first place. Well, whatever the case...
"Sakura-san!" Hanabi exclaimed, seeing the annoyed-seeming look on the rosette's face. "What sort of stupid comment did Neji-niisan say?"

::Yamanaka Meushi:: ”Well, if that’s how you act like when you want to bug them, then for all means bug them twenty four seven Hanabi,” Meushi replied when Hanabi told her the motive behind her behavior.
This was getting to be rather fun. It was nice having another girl to gossip with. There was always Ino, but having someone her own age to talk to was a different sort of thing. Ino would always bring up people Meushi didn’t know that well, but most of the people Hanabi knew Meushi would probably know as well. Besides, this was a great way to build up teamwork, and even if Meushi found Taiyo rather annoying, she was glad to know that she was on at least friendly terms with Hanabi.
The other members of this gossip club continued on about Neji and TenTen, and Meushi had to get an idea from the two of them about what this all meant. From the way it sounded Neji was a rather cold and quiet person. Whenever such a person broke down and started to stumble and blush, it was bound to be an adorable scene. Even without knowing exactly everything about these two like Ino and Hanabi did, she could still get a giggle from the thought of it. But it was sad to hear that TenTen was dodging the issue. Such a minor barrier to what could be a beautiful romance was just unacceptable. Hopefully they would work things out for the better.
When Ino mentioned that she was dating Kiba Inuzuka, Meushi’s mood turned rather sour. He was Taiyo’s cousin, the one he wanted to be better than. Her view of the Inuzuka had been rather tainted by her experiences with the, in her mind at least, brash and rude Taiyo. On the flip side, if Ino liked this Kiba, he had to be a really decent guy, right? If he had any secrets or dark agendas, Ino would have been one of the first know with all her connections. So she would have to give the guy a chance at least.
Of course, soon after the news was spilled, a familiar voice appeared. Looking up, Meushi saw that Ino’s friend Sakura had entered the room with the usual ‘Ino-pig’ comment. Meushi knew that bugged Ino, but apparently Sakura was the exception to that rule. Not surprisingly, she was a big gossiper like the rest of them, and easily slipped into the conversation. Meushi had a small grin when she mentioned she had helped Kiba out, and then went on to talk about how boys were so dense. Even if it wasn’t for the reasons Sakura probably had in saying it, Meushi knew the feeling from that time spent with Taiyo. But that was for another topic, so for now she focused on Sakura’s story about Neji’s comment.
”Whatever it was, it sounds like you got pretty mad about it. Did you deck him?”
That last part sounded a little violent, but just about everyone knew of Sakura’s temper. If something made her mad, she let the person know right away what her mood was. Should it turn out Neji got away scot free with this comment, Meushi would almost be disappointed in the rosette.

Ino giggled between the two, it was nice to know that more people in Konoha were hooking up, maybe it was the season of love or something weird like that. Daydreaming at the thought, she was sanpped back into reality by Sakura’s nickname for her. “Don’t worry Billboard brow, I’ll make it up to you.” Ino smirked remembering the deal, if Sakura were to talk to Kiba than Ino would talk to Naruto for her and then another romance will blossom in Konoha! Though she still didn’t like Sakura for that nickname, so aslong as she carried on calling her Ino-pig then Ino will carry on calling her billboard bro and forehead girl, it seemed only fair.
Sighing at the thought, her eyebrow began to twitch at the mention of Neji and a particular comment, ”Jeez, what did he say then?” Leaning forward the blonde kunzite propped her elbows on the counter before noting a few more costumers coming up. Taking a moment to think about whether she’d serve them just yet, in the end Ino thought maybe it’d be best if she heard all the juicy details of Neji’s mishap because if she were to be distracted while working then the flower arrangement wouldn’t come out so nice.
Whilst waiting for Sakura to spill out the information, Ino turned to her little cousin , a small smirk playing on her lips. If everyone was going to talk about relationships than it only seemed right to bring the little ones in, and plus at that age all it is crushing on this and that, quite sweet really. ”So, Hanabi? Meushi? You girls got any boys you’ve got your eye on?” Ino asked with a girlish giggle, it would be nice to share some information , well it was all good fun talking about someone else but when it comes to yourself its a whole lot more exciting.
Ino laughed at Meushi comment towards Sakura, because she knew that Sakura would probably deck Neji, especially if he said something as stupid as what she seemed to perceive.

"I don't deck people, Meushi-chan," Sakura said, leaning back, a smirk on her face. Ino would get it. "I break their faces. How'sabout I show you sometime?" She glanced at Ino... The blonde would get what she meant. Ino had seen her abilities first-hand... After she'd taken down a tree with her fist. "Anyway, yeah... I did deck him. Gave him a split lip," Sakura stated, but before she could continue, she was interrupted by the Hyuuga girl standing there.
"I knew it!" Hanabi chorused, punching a fist into the air. "I kneeeeew there was something fishy behind Tenten-chan's story! Tenten-chan claimed that Neji-niisan had been hit in the face when he'd caught her... Liar!" She bounced up and down gleefully, chuckling like a madwoman. Now she just hoped they wouldn't come and find her... Otherwise, she'd be dead meat. So would Sakura, but... Whatever.
"I'm gonna do him a favour, though, so you guys gotta help me... Don't spread it around, okay? I mean it, seriously, I'll punch all your faces in worse than I did to him. Besides... With all this gossip I'm guessing smells like the two of them, he'll have enough... I saw it hurt his ego when I punched him... So be nice, or none of you will have faces left." She knew at least one person in the room would listen... Because nobody wanted to have Sakura punch their face in. Sakura wasn't usually this violent, but she needed to get the point across. "Don't even bring it up around him."
"Right-o! So what did he say?" Hanabi asked, reinforcing the question that had been popped out by Ino.
"Well, you should know that flu that's going around, hm? The one you had a couple days before, Hanabi, and the same one your father had before that, Ino," Sakura started, going a little more in-depth into last night. "Well, seems Tenten managed to catch the bug, too, and she passed out last night from it... So Neji came and dragged me outside, and I took care of it. Luckily, I'd shoved a few bottles of the medication into my little purse to keep it with me, because, well... You know, always like to be prepared, right? So after I said that, I also warned him that Tenten had come in armed... Little minx that she is. Two senbon needles in her hair and blades on either thigh! Me, I was just surprised, but then he calls me out and basically tells me this:
'Tenten is a excellent weapon specialist, just because she feels to be prepare an have her weapons on her doesn't mean anything. The same thing could be said to you about this liquid for her fever. I would suggest for you to keep your mouth shut next time you choose to speak about things that you also see fit to carry because of your field. But Thank you.' I mean, come on... "
"Neji-niisan obviously wasn't thinking when he said that," Hanabi piped up, looking at Meushi and Ino and waiting for their responses on that.

::Yamanaka Meushi:: “No, I’ll take your word for it Sakura,” Meushi responded to Sakura’s offer to show off her strength.
Meushi laughed as Sakura corrected her about the ‘decking people’ comment. Apparently in this case she had settled for just giving him a split lip. Seemed a little harsh, but if Hanabi said he had said something stupid, there was a possibility he had deserved it. Besides, he refused to be a man about it and lied when asked. And it was a rather lame lie at that, as a matter of fact. Seeing Hanabi acting all crazy about being right, Meushi gave her a thumbs up as a quiet way to tell her ‘good job.’
Of course she then had to add in the clause about not telling about it. What was it with these two and rules? Hanabi didn't want it revealed she was the source (though with someone like Neji that might have been a good thing), and Sakura didn’t want to spread around the face punch. Though Meushi was rather inclined to listen to Sakura. It was mostly because, in this case, it was a simple matter of self-preservation than not wanting to gossip.
“Fine, we’ll keep quiet about it,” she moaned out, “even if it’s rather juicy,” she whispered off.
Meushi leaned in a little as Sakura told her story. She had heard about the flu and how her uncle had gotten it a little while back. It seemed harmless enough, if uncomfortable and annoying. But to pass out from it in the middle of a dance? That was the worst timing in the history of forever. She felt sorry for the poor girl who had to suffer such a fate. Luckily Sakura was prepared it seemed, so the girl got the medicine that she needed. TenTen, however, seemed to be rather prepared as well, armed to the teeth it seemed. Meushi thought it strange to be like that for a dance, but then again, a ninja never knew when their services would be needed.
Listening to Neji’s comment, however, she had to agree with Hanabi. He hadn’t been thinking clearly at all. It was the only reason he would snap at someone with the power to crush trees with a single punch. Meushi leaned back onto the counter and shook her head, making a little “Tsk, tsk” sound.
”Boys never really seem to understand how to be polite, don’t they? Always so quick to snap at the tiniest little thing.”
The conversation took an interesting turn, however, when, after discussing all the local Chuunin gossip, Ino thought to investigate the world of the Genin. And right off the back, she was asking about the local boys. Meushi perked up a little at this, freezing for a second as she searched for something to say. The only boy she had any major connection with was Taiyo, and he was the most annoying pest on Earth. Insulting her figure and family, the name calling, and just generally being an obnoxious jerk. For a second Meushi looked rather mad, with her arms tensing up and her fist clenching.
This look, however, disappeared as a sly smile appeared on her face. She needed revenge on the Inuzuka boy, and this was a great way to get the ball rolling. Before she began brushed her hair out from in front of her face, a classic sign of her getting ready for something big. She closed her eyes, leaned back, and started to talk rather casually.
”Actually, I’m glad you brought that up Ino,” she said as she opened one eye and looked up at her cousin,”Cause I think one of the boys does have an eye on me. And even better, he’s your boyfriend Kiba’s cousin Taiyo.”
She glanced over to Hanabi, searching for a sign on what her thought might be. Since she was on the same team, she might be able to figure out something was wrong with this story that was about to be told. Meushi hoped that her time spent with Ino would have allowed for some of the older girl’s gossiping skills to rub off on her. She was going to need all her talent to pull off this little scheme.
”We both must have gotten the date wrong for the Team 6 meeting or something because we ran into each other out in the training fields. Almost immediately he began to comment on my flowery scent, and even gave me a little nickname.”
Freeing part of one arm, she raised it up from the elbow upwards and let her hand just kind of fall victim to gravity. She tilted her head towards Hanabi, having her eyes shift from Ino to the Hyuuga girl. Her face deadpanned a little bit, showing she was being serious for a moment.
”Of course I told him that seemed to be a bit much for a first meeting, but he was rather persistent about it. Eventually we decided to settle the matter with a friendly sparring match.”
Moving her arm back to it’s secure location in front of her, she closed her eyes again and then gave a slight shrug before continuing on with her story. She kept making all the various body movements to make the story sound more natural and believable. If she got over excited and started jumping around, or under excited about it and stood in one spot, they would get the wrong impression or call bull on her.
”Eventually the match ended in a tie, but he was sooo nice about it, deciding to let me ‘win’ and give up the nickname. And I bet you won’t believe this part, but he offered to go out and get some lunch with me. Wanting to be nice, I went along with it. It was nice for the most part. We talked a little, and you guys would have just broken down at the comment he made about my figure,” she said, finishing up the actual story, with some various hand movements made here and there to add some life to it all.
Once all was said and done, she looked around the store as if she was making sure that no one was listening. When it looked clear, she motioned for them to lean in close. This was going to be a crucial part of the lie, and would explain any situation in which Taiyo and her got along badly.
”The only sad part is that while in private he was all over me, once in public he acted as if he hated my very guts. I think he’s shy to admit that he likes a girl. Something about boys our age makes them act that way. So if you guys start teasing him about it, which I know you will, he’ll probably deny it. And don’t tell him I told you all this because I don’t want to hurt the poor guys feelings”
With the story officially complete, she went back to her leaning on the counter position. She had a sly grin on her face. This seemed to be a good revenge plan. Hanabi, Sakura, and Ino would all torment the poor kid, but it got better. Between the three of them, everyone in town would know about it, especially Taiyo’s cousin Kiba. Being at the center of a Genin-grade romance, he’d be embarrassed and/or ticked off beyond belief. The only issue Meushi saw was what to do when, eventually, he’d confront her about this. But that was for a later time. For now, she just wanted to see the look on all the other girl’s faces when they heard of Taiyo’s ‘crush’ on her.
