Meet the Masqueraders! Plot.

All right, well, I have to say... this really disappointed me a lot.

I tried to get a whole plot going and all, and I saw about... Four other people [well, five, we'll count Mon-chan's first posts in MTYBF too] aside from myself who actually utilized the plot.

I'm actually very disappointed that nobody decided to use it for any reason, and I kinda wanna find out why. I mean, sure, there's other places, but plots are a GREAT way for people to interact, especially between other villages.

The only people that I saw using the plot itself at all [who are still active] are the following:

Livi [Xi]
Aya [Neji]
Mon-chan [Originally, Neji]
Ryan [Kiba]
Nim [Ino]
Myself [Tenten / Tsunade]

So what's all up with that? Was the plot a terrible idea? Were you simply not interested? Seriously, guys, I really think I screwed up on the plot. If you haven't noticed, the plot IS still going... I have yet to close it because one, I hope more people will join, but... There's actually only one active thread in there.

I honestly think that most of you must've thought it was a dumb idea for a plot or something... because it obviously didn't go over well. I want to hear opinions on it, because frankly, if this is how plots like this are going to go over, I might as well stop hosting them altogether, ne? I'd really like it if people actually USED that plot to do something.

Well, I think I got turned off from doing anything because by the time I got here it had been ongoing, and I didn't want to interupt anything going on. And your thread with Neji and TenTen kind of threw a romantic spin onto the entire thing, and I'm not that great with romance (working on it though). Finally, it was a dance. I never really enjoyed dances that much in real life so...

But yeah, I think for me the main thing was I didn't have anything to actually do there. Nothing overly caught my interest, and at this point I'm more concerned about getting myself and my characters established around here. Though I Meushi had done that quite well (one vote short of tying for Taiyo for OC Spotlight XD). So I guess if anyone's interested in doing something with her in the the plot I could give it a shot...

it wasnt that, sakura, i think it was the mixing of cultural festivities. Masqurades tend to be an Italian thing, and you just brought it to Japan. I think it was a good idea, but others might have trouble adjusting to it.

Plus, like Meushi said, most people have to figure out what the heck their purpose was in leaving their villiage. Xi has alot of money, and it makes sense that she would leave because the Sanctuary plot and the masqurade plot sorta tie together, but wat about other ppl? Dont close it yet, but keep that in mind.

Well, guys, there was more than just... Dancing. There were festival games, there was a banquet... I wouldn't have really cared if most people didn't migrate towards the dancing, but everyone could've gone to the festival games. There didn't really have to be a purpose other than to go to the festival, either, especially for most of the villages. Somewhere like Otogakure or Amegakure would have been different, but we have a LOT of Konoha-nin, and a fair number of Suna-nin, too. I would've at least expected more than just a few people to actually use it, because there were three parts to it.

And the Naruto world isn't EXACTLY like Japan, and trust me, school dances are almost completely polar-opposite of what the dancing in the festival itself was. The dancing aspect of the festival was more formal and was social dancing, not... The kind of stuff at school dances or at prom. You didn't need to have a romantic thread to be part of the festival, not at all. That was just the idea of the thread with Neji and Tenten.

Like I said, I was distracted in getting everything set up with my characters so I didn't have time to really look into the Festival. I didn't know they had the games and all that stuff so...

As for the romance thing, since the Neji/TenTen thread become the dominant thread of it, most people might have assumed the festival was a great place for pairings. So that might have dropped off some of the interest.

Again, though, now that I've set up my characters and everythings running smoothly, I think I could handle a thread in the plot if someone wants to do something with Kazuma or Meushi...preferably Kazuma cause he hasn't had much to do on this site. What, 1 thread compared to 3 for Meushi.

Actually, when I first saw the board, I freaked out in joy because I personally love masquerades in any shape or form. My issue was just being slow with posting in general, as well as working on making a comfortable number of characters that I can post around with. I'm just uber slow getting set up, and have lacked the time/muse to really get involved with my characters. I was thinking of having Sora, Shiori, or Miyunaji post there, but only one of them is finished, and I'd like to get Sora's "situation" sorted out first before I post anywhere else. Just so that when I tell her story, I get it straight the first time, and it doesn't change as the conversation goes on, if you get what I'm saying.

But I liked the plot, it was just my own slowness in general. I mean, it's not as if I'm choosing other places over the Masquerade plot. I was hoping it would stay open long enough for Sora to sneak in at least near the end or something. Sorry for not getting to it sooner. ^^"
