Sandal clad feet tapped gently against the busy dirt path, the village was a hive of activity at this time in the day. Many people were either buying or selling goods. Others were simply walking for fun whilst their children ran along beside them laughing happily. Shino however, made his way silently along, he didn't bother anyone and no-one bothered him. That was the way it was supposed to be, in the Aburame's mind at least. His destination was home. He was heading for the Aburame meeting place. It was neither big nor small and sat in the corner of the village.
He was nearing it now, a slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips but at the same time he let out a small sigh. Sure he liked his home but he sometimes needed a break from his family . A lot of the time the family member were friendly and helpful toward each other and others, they couldn't stand each other. Oh well, the only obvious side affect of this was Shino's behavior toward his team-mates, he treated them in a similar way. Kiba whilst being annoying also worked well with the insect-wielder in battle and Shino always offered his support to Hinata. Admittedly he tended to get on with the Kunoichi better, but when he had to work together with the Inuzuka on a mission, they got on fine.
Shrugging and leaving his thoughts behind he cast a glance up at the sky and,a frown now painted on his face, he ran round the last corner and toward the front door. Taking his shoes off, he heard the rain starting to fall and walked in the direction of his bug collection. OK, so he didn't have the room to himself, several Aburame made use of the room, but that didn't matter to the Chuunin.

Aya earlier today had found herself at the main building of the Aburame clan in the village. It was a odd day seeing the girl here due her being not like the rest of the Aburame Clan. She was always out spoken in the clan and made it a point to speak her mind when the Aburame didn't. The only thing that did seem like she was Aburame was her dark hair, and the pair of sunglasses that she wore. On the sunglasses was a pendant of a spider hanging down. This was because her first pet was a spider that passed away some years ago and her father thought that it was something that she could find meaning into. She did and wore it on the right side of her sunglasses. She didn't even wear the normal long jacket of the clan, just a long sleeve shirt was all that she found that she needed.
She was sitting in the large collection of insects room that clan had collected since before she was born. It was a room that allowed the clan to share their experience when they traveled outside of Konoha. Of course most to all the Aburame had small collections of insects at home that was very rarely viewed by anyone other than the Aburame family that lived in the house. Aya herself had her own apartment away from the clan and had a collection of bugs herself, some was still at her parents house. She really refused to speak to her parents for some time because of how the reacted to something when she was 19.
She looked up when she saw Shino enter the room, from her fight with Tsume and Kiba Inuzuka she knew that he was on his team. She smirked slightly in her seat, she had a book in her lap. She turned the page for a moment and glanced back down to it. "Hello Shino-kun, I haven't seen you in a while. I hear that you and Kiba-kun are all the same team." Friendly but irritating conversation was what she was aiming for. She did love to torment people that she like, it was just something that she liked to do.

Placing his hand on the wooden beam, Shino pulled open the door and walked in before sliding it shut once more. He turned round as he heard the familiar voice of Aya. He nodded, acknowledging her presence "Hello Ayako," His tone was friendly enough, though he was annoyed inwardly. The strange girl always seemed to annoy her. Yet he knew her fairly well, through other sources mostly "unfortunately it's true. I'm on the same team as mutt one and mutt two." He was of course referring to Kiba and Akamaru.
Having said what he had to, he walked over to his insect tank and started changing the lettuce. He had only changed his bugs food about three days ago, but given the variety and amount of creatures, it was understandable. However, the largest part of Shino's collection was in his own home, he only kept insects which he had more than one of here. In neither place did he keep a cricket, for some reason he had never managed to catch one.
Withdrawing his hand from the tank and shutting it, he opened his bag and took out a jar. What lay inside the container was a praying mantis. These bugs had a habit of munching so he opened a smaller tank, below the other, and released the insect into it. Seeing it was content with the arrangement, he shut the tank and walked over to a chair next to Aya. He sat down and took out his own book and a pencil, as his eyes scanned the page he wrote notes in the margin. The book was one which Shino always carried with him, it was a basic book with information on various insects. The notes which the Aburame scribbled down were just his own thoughts about each bug.

Aya grinned when Shino used her full name. It was not something that she normally went by, the only time someone called her that was her parents and she was in trouble for something. She took a deep breath and listened to him insult Kiba and Akamaru. His distaste for the two seemed true, just like how Kiba said somewhat. It was true that most Aburame seemed to wanted to work with themselves than the Canine duo for the most part. She had worked along side a Inuzuka and his partner for years and their bond was close. She tried the two like brothers more than friends and team members. She flipped through a couple more pages thinking about something. She could not use the Shadow Possession Jutsu on him because there was no shadow really inside to do so.
She looked up to him and smirked some. "You know Shino, you really shouldn't really think less of them. Their dogs are just like the millions or more bugs within us Shino. Sure they smell and such but there are times that we can't get along with out them. I was paired up with an Inuzuka when I was your age. I meet Kiba, Akamaru, Taiyo, Myou, and Tsume Inuzuka the other day. They are pretty good made me want to stop and take a nice long nap out in the sun." She thought about the fights that she was in a few days ago. She giggled to herself when she remembered pissing off Tsume like she had done.
She looked up and watched Shino tend to his bugs, she didn't have some in here, she refused to have them inside here and allowed others to see her collection. She came here just to be notice really. She titled her head at the praying mantis, nearly just like the spiders that she did like to collect, but the mantis was at lease a bug. She looked over to her bag and grinned some. That was what she forgot to do and had not done in so long. Just collect bugs, so many missions and so little time. That was what happened when you got up in ranks. She watched Shino take a seat next to her and look at his book. She smirked some. "Is that the only book you read or is there another?" She sat up and went to grab the book out of his hand. She was bored and picking fights at the moment was something that she wanted to do. It didn't matter that it was her own cousin that she was doing it with.

Shino was some-what grateful for being indoors at this point. He had a feeling his cousin would be happy to use a Nara Jutsu on him at this point. After all, the pair were quite different and it was hard to believe they were even remotely related. He heard the pages flipping on her book and paused to listen to what Aya had to say. Sighing, he shook his head "I don't think less of the Inuzuka's, or Kiba and his mu-Akamaru," He started, his voice calm as usual "on the contrary actually. As much as hate to admit it, Kiba is a useful ally in battle. That doesn't change the fact that he gets on my nerves though."
As he sat next to her, scribbling notes about praying mantis' down, he smiled. Despite it's cruel nature, the clawed bug was truly amazing. On top of it's ability to catch all the food it needed, it could also camouflage itself so well. They were true survivors. As he flipped the page he sighed and turned it once more, the page he had landed on was that about a lady-bug, another creature which he hadn't yet caught. It was quite embarrassing really. Aya's voice broke the air and he sighed "Is this the only book I read?" He repeated "No, I recently checked another book out of the library."
The Aburame boy would've continued if it hadn't been for his book being grasped out of his hand "Aya! Why are you here anyway?!" He asked, a hint of anger in his tone as a photo of his team fell from the book. On the back he had written simple notes about his team-mates, some of the earlier ones about Kiba were quite harsh whilst he had barely written anything about Hinata. Other than the fact that he would always be happy to support her with her training and how much the Hyuuga had improved.

Aya listened to Shino talk about how he found Kiba to be useful in a mission. She sighed slightly to herself, it was something that he was going to have to learn on his own. She looked at a sentence in her book and stared at it before moving onto another one. She then looked up to Shino and smiled slightly. "Finding someone usefully is like a blindsided kick to one's back Shino. Annoying or not, its the fact that you don't respect him or Akamaru as the same as the insects you collect and hold within you. Respect goes both ways Shino in everything that we do." For Aya she had to learn to respect the Nara and Aburame abilities to balance them for now. She smiled and returned to her book once more. She had brought it from home to read.
She smirked some when Shino answered her about the books. "Library? What you don't have a book collection of your own at your house?" She raised her eyebrow slightly. Her own book collection was something that she would not dream of having without, it eased her boredom when it came. She knew that it was something neither her Nara or Aburame family really did but it was just something that she found that helped her relaxed when she was tense or something. She looked back over to Shino and then looked back down to her book. She folded the page with her index finger and tossed it into his lap. "Here you can borrow this one, it a good book. I have read it a few times and I think I have another copy at my house." She gave him a friendly smile. This was what family did for each other right?
She smirked when she took the book from him and heard the anger in his voice. It was not something that most Aburame lost control over. Anger was not anything that either side of Aya did to well. For Aya it took a lot just to get her out of a playfully mood set, even in batter she was playing around and not taking things to serious from other people point of views, but it was just how she was. She blinked and looked down at the picture of his team. She leaned down and picked it up and looked at the back of it, reading it carefully. She giggled slightly and placed the picture on her lap and reached into her bag and pulled out a small picture of frame of her own Genin team. "Writing on the back of your team picture, I suppose anyone does to make sure they can generalize at first with their team. I did it with Baito Inuzuka, and the Hyuuga boy too. Just habits I guess. Those two was always looking after me, like I did with them. A friendship that will never be broken came out of that Shino-kun. Those are my best friends, always will be." She smirked when she decided to answer his question finally about why she was here. "I was bored, coming here. I know I rarely do but it is niceto come find out what the family is up to once and a while. Besides I know the news I was here will get back to my parents."

Moving his pencil across the paper, he continued writing. He heard a sigh from Aya but paid it little attention as he focused on his current task. His movement paused for a second as she started to speak but he swiftly carried on, much to his annoyance, his cousin made sense "Ayako, you have to understand that Kiba finds me annoying too? On top of that, a rivalry never hurt anyone." The tone Shino used was deadly serious as he turned the page of his book once more "And anyway, respect is something that has to be gained, not given." He smirked as he said this yet some part of him hoped she wouldn't remember about the respect he gave to opponents in battle.
"Ayako, I don't have time to waste reading. Which reminds me, I must clean up my book-shelves." This strange sentence made sense only in Shino's mind. He still hadn't gotten round to getting rid of his old books, the books he read as a five year old. Surprise came onto his face as Aya's book landed in his lap, he nodded at what she said and put it carefully in his bag "Thank-you. I doubt I'll have time to read it though..." This was a fib, whilst it was true that Shino was busy, he was always training or caring for his insect collection, yet he still had the time to read it. Perhaps Aya was being nice because of them being family? It wouldn't be the first time.
Feeling the anger inside of himself, Shino took a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself down. Looking down he noticed his team photo and wondered what Aya would think of him keeping it in the back of a book. Maybe he should have gotten a frame for it but the thought never occurred to him. At one point he had even contemplated throwing it away, even burning it. Then he had realized that he would regret it later and so he put it in a book and left it there. He noticed Aya had picked it up and was reading the back whilst she spoke to him, before getting a picture out of her bag "Ayako, I don't think me and Kiba will ever get along." He stated simply "You come here when you are bored? Why not go and watch clouds?" He questioned, referring to her being half Nara.

She listened to Shino and smiled. She could not help but to make sure he understood exactly what she was talking about here for the matter. She understood rivalry rather well, she had to make sure that she kept up with both clan abilities and knew how to use them both but on top of that she had to complete missions and do her duty to the village. Once she got up to that level in the shinobi world it was always about the getting the job done and proving that you was worth it and able to do more missions. "All about being a shinobi is about rivalry Shino. But you are always going to find something about Kiba and Akamaru that annoys you and the same can go for him. I find Baito to be overbearing most of the time. And his dog, wont go to the vet without me there. I really don't mind that really. As for respect, it is earned not given, but if you at lease don't show a small bit of respect towards him, he wont towards you. So in a way you will have ti give a small amount and build off that. Its like our insects in a way."
The fact that he was still calling her Ayako instead of Aya which she was known around the village was a bit annoying to her. No one but her parents really callde her Ayako and that was only when she was in trouble with them. She sighed slightly and looked over to him. "Drop the ko at the end of my name please...my parents usually just calls me Ayako when I am in trouble about something." She was hopefully that he would drop it. She smirked when he said that he would not have time to read the book, she knew full well that he would read it mainly because there was always time in the day somewhere to stop and read a few pages even if it was not that much. "If you had no time to read Shino, you would have handed that book back to me. Placing it in you bag only proved yourself wrong."
She looked at the picture of Shino's team and smiled. When she took out her picture of her own she traced her finger around the two other figures in the team. She could not help but wanted to go visit them for a bit, it had been a while since she just hanged out with them and worked with them. She knew both was doing okay in the long run. She looked over to Shino when he talked about her being bored and hanging out here. "Give it time. You two will." She smirked slightly when he commented about the clouds and knew that was a joke about her Nara bloodline. "Only if you come with me and watch the clouds with me."
